hehe, yeah, but DD din't want to give up her shoes for too long.....fitted them back on DD during my lunch break today lol. Poppy back on her black rims now......oh.....and the new exhaust...it's coming off! Bloody hate it! But that's another story that will be posted soon by future Dave. It's his problem lol Stay tuned!

| hydrogen is the way forward totally! Yup, can confirm. I work for an automotive company that provides testing facilities to many well known manufacturers. All I'm allowed to disclose (NDAs and stuff) is that they are not betting on EVs alone. Hydrogen definitely is on their agenda (at least some of them). But I wouldn't hold my breath yet, I'd expect we'll be well into the 2030s until it finally gets adopted by the masses. For now, E85 is our best bet (even if the mileage completely tanks). Maybe it's time to get a flex fuel setup, after all? :P

Aye, its a slow one at the minute with everything else im currently on with. At the minute im trying to sell off one of my other cars to fund this project, once thats sold then it'll be off in for welding and a few mechanical things. once its back in my hands then ill be on with replacing all the suspension. i already have new bolts, bushes and lower control arms. i just need to get the compensator and upper arms then the rest can be sand blasted and powder coated.

Well, it just seems to have got more and more noisy as it's bedded is. So much so that when we went to Glasgow at the weekend, the motorway bit was unbearable. 60mph onwards, the noise is horrible! You press the throttle even a couple of mm, the noise becomes deafening. Put the foot down in 6th and where she would pick up really quickly before on standard exhaust, now there is just a whole lot of noise and the pick up is slow. Not happy with it at all tbh, it's basically just the typical shitty boy-ricer exhaust imo. Had a check and doesn't appear to be blowing anywhere (that was my 1st thought), and last night even on the wee run over to the moors to the next village (where you barely get above 40-45mph) the sound was loud as hell. Going through villages even at speeds as low as 20mph (yeah, we got 20mph limits here!), lift off even 1mm on the throttle and it sounds like a bloody machine gun. Just makes the car sound clapped out. I still have the brand new front section that arrived squashed flat at one end (which I've managed to get back into shape, just needs final fettling with the blow torch and the wee hammer), and have found a 3 month old standard back box for £45. Salvaged one hanger from the old standard exhaust (other was rusted to hell) so new hanger bought for £30. Trouble is the back box is a 2 hour drive away! So guess what car we're going in? Yeah, DD! She's prefect for the long drive, nice and quiet and only noisy when you want her to be, and nice and comfy. Picking it up tomorrow after work so will have a look at fitting it all this weekend if I get time. Stainless one will get put up for sale, some local boy racer will no doubt be happy with it! Malian exhausts = cheap noisy crap!

Aw man, what's the story with the exhaust?

Well I thought I’d update the thread, I’ve bought some cutouts for the other side and luckily they are in good condition so I’ve removed all the spotwelds to get the front panel off so that it can be used when it comes to replacing the old upper sill. Some small corrosion so I’ve just used hydrate 80 to convert that so it doesn’t get worse, the panel will be getting sandblasted to remove that surface rust so I have a nice fresh clean panel to weld back in. It’ll be zinc primed or epoxy primed not sure yet. The remaining panels will be used to take reference from. Things such as the lower extension sill and sill to arch join panel, oh and the stiffener too. As these looked far too rusty to use. They will come in handy though as I will be contacting someone regards to the remaking of these panels!!!
