  1. What a cracking meet! Some stunning cars here and big variety too. Loved the deck ghat was there!๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. Yours have always been ones that are constantly evolving, love seeing how different they are and the latest style and mods. Keeps it fresh!
  3. Lol yeah, front has to come off for most jobs! It's a tight fit in the engine bay, so simplest jobs involve a strip down of something or other!
  4. Lol deffo! Saved my bacon that time that's for sure! Had DD for her longest drive in a year and a half today, wee trip to the East Coast where we used to live. Have to say loving how she's driving, so smooth and perfect. Enjoying life in the deck again.๐Ÿฅฐ
  5. Pretty sure the mb6 harness is different bud.
  6. Have you tried cleaning out the vtec solenoid? Sometimes helps. Does it do it both when the engines cold or hot? Another thing to check is fuel filter, most have probably never been changed so could be well past its best.
  7. Is it an after market ecu (hondata etc)? Didn't think these were mappable?
  8. Same mate! I still miss my wee blue MA8 (aka wee Blue Betty), was an awesome wee car that. Never broke down once in all the years we had her, and sailed through her mot the day I sold her. Not even an advisory! Almost certain the young guy that bought her wrote her off as that was the last mot she ever had. He was a new driver, had never driven an auto before (test drive was brutal, kept trying to drive her with both feet! Had to tell him off!). Never even saw her again after he bought her
  9. Yeah, had a look at videos on it and massive job, beyond me without a proper ramp. Gutted as Poppy was driving so well too, but knew this was looming so no big surprise when it finally failed. DD is loving life back on the road though, glad she came to the rescue! Hate not having a car!
  10. Yay! Thanks to Civic5 SRS reset guide, all fixed! Happy days! Job for tomorrow is having a look at the noisy as hell rear wiper!
  11. Yeah, nice to be able to drive her again mate, missed her so much! Been out today to do a wee job that's been bugging me for years! I got the ITR DC2 steering wheel retrimmed to match the rest of the interior years ago, and when I fitted it I must of not lined the self cancelling pins for the indicators correctly. Meant turning left, indicator wouldn't self cancel, turning right it was constantly cancelling. So, been out to the garage and got the wheel off. Sure enough, pins weren't even close to lined up! Doh! Changed the black dash surround that goes around the instrument cluster as I'd drilled a wee hole in the original one to fit a phone holder that I no longer have. Thought might aswell get a replacement (thank you Marcus!) while I still can. Git it all back together, indicators cancel like they should and no more wee hole in the dash to bug my OCD! Unfortunately, the bloody SRS light is on now! Not sure why, had battery disconnected etc and all the plugs are back in? Gonna search the forum, sure we've got a guide to reset it. Have disconnected the battery and pulled the fuses for srs and the ecu, hoping that might sort it.
  12. Glad you got the blow sorted, a chisel and the big bangy-hitty thing can solve many, many problems! System looks Tidy mate, liking that. Need to do a wee video of how it sounds when you get a chance
  13. My D14 used to do this too! Lol can't remember exactly what the revs were at as it was an automatic, but if using the gearshift manually when giving it beans there was a distinct change of note from the engine. That wee engine used to spin up the revs really nicely.
  14. Sooo, with DD being off the road for over a year, Poppy took up the daily duties. She'd been doing well tbh, have put a fair few miles on her in that time, mostly trouble free. Gayles Nissan Juke (aka "Effy") failed its recent mot and landed us with a bit of a big bill (just under ยฃ500) and was off the road until garage got her fixed. So Poppy was our only car on the road, so Gayle had been using her for around a week for work. The day before we were due to get Effy back, Gayle went to go to work in the morning and put the clutch down in Poppy. Heard this really horrible noise so thought that's not good! Gears were stiff to engage, so I drove her to the end of our drive to see if she would be safe to go to work in. Sadly not! Clutch has totally failed! Press the clutch down and she sounds like a bag of spanners! ๐Ÿซฃ Can't get any gears with the engine running so looks like clutch has finally let go. Called our Independent MINI specialist and got a quote....ยฃ1200! Gutted, but tbf, have seen the amount of work involved in replacing it so most of the cost is labour. So Poppy's off the road for a while now till I can get the money saved up. Good job Effy is now passed her MOT (and now sold! Gayle traded her in for a newish Nissan Micra 2020 as she needs something cheaper on fuel for all the driving she does at work). Also good that DD has also passed her mot and is back on the road! So Poppy can take a breather for a while. Will update once new clutch has been fitted.
  15. And she's done it!! Finally got DD back on the road, passed her MOT on Wednesday with just an advisory on the n/s/f track rod end but knew about it before hand so going to get it replaced. So happy to be driving her again, been sooo long! Not got a photo as been constant rain here but here's a recent one for prosperity! Oh, roof rack is now off and her sunroof deflector is back on๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  16. Wow! That's a whole load of nice parts and work right there! Regarding the blow in the exhaust, the join either side of the CAT would be the first place to check imo. Could be the flanges are a bit crusty, so unless they gave it a good clean up first would most likely start blowing there. If you can get it jacked up high enough, could hold a small piece of newspaper at the joins and see if it "flutters" when it's running. Was the manifold already fitted prior to the rest of the exhaust or did they fit that at same time? Looking forward to the pics mate!
  17. That's well smart! And a bargain too!
  18. Was that the whole thing including the buttons for heater controls etc? Sounds like the bargain of the century mate! Get what you mean about wanting something like that in the deck. I'm still weighing up options!
  19. How did the new exhaust go? Got ours made by Powerflow over 12 years ago, best part we ever got for the deck! Still going strong!
  20. Damn, making me jealous (not the power steering fluid obviously lol gettingvto drive the deck!). How's Tubs feeling, been a while since she's been out and about eh?
  21. Loving those new wheels! That looks amazing!
  22. Coming along nicely mate! I'm deffo replacing DDs "meep-meep" horn too, looking at maybevfittjng one from a MINI of all things as they're quite beefy!
  23. Sooo, the pics of what I've been dealing with with our daughters car. First the damage And finished it yesterday! This was just before the alloys with 4 brand new tyres went on. Been a lot of work but after least she's got her car back. DD now comfortably back in her crib until I get the MOT booked!
  24. In other news, DD on a back burner as got our daughters car to repair after she skidded on snow and straight into a ditch! Never ending for me with cars at the moment but at least she's OK, no injuries. Could have been so much worse if a car had been coming the other way or if the fence it ended up had gave way....would have barrel rolled down a hill!๐Ÿ˜ฒ Car looking sorry for itself. Will maybe post some pics up of the before and after. Have had to cut off old wing, straighten out the bracketry it and the headlight bolts to, replace front wing, bumper and headlight. Repair (and work out what wires were what) the wiring for the headlight, front fogs and DRLs, then paint. Fixed a few other dents on the side and replaced the drivers door mirror. Been a lot to do, but on the home stretch now.
