  1. Right, this company deserves it's own thread as there are a few posts on mg suspension regarding the above ebay seller. I have been supplied the wrong front suspension by CW Dismantlers. Car sits too high and handles like a duck on ice (exageration but you catch my drift). Supplied me with front springs that had yellow paint stripe on it. Found out that blue/white markings are for mg zs 180's AFTER 2002...which according to civic5 owners are perfect? CW Dismantlers are sending me blue and yellow springs as they dont have blue and white ones! Going to fit them as guy says there for mg zs up to 2002 and will do me Fingers crossed as postage will bankrupt me if they are the same height! Apparently there are different setups for the mgzs 180. That's what i was told today. Must be a lotto for the guys that have previously bought suspension from them as some people highly recommend them whilst others want to stab them! The guy said that they specialise in mg zs stuff and dont know what will suit civics etc, which is a fair point. They were in the process of digging out every suspension set up when i phoned, to look for colour markings on springs. At least they are trying to gain info as well for us civic owners! The seller told me i could either send suspension back and they would send me out the correct ones OR purchase them again and send the wrong stuff back at later date for refund. I done the latter as didn't want my car off the road....except thats where it belongs with the current suspension setup! If you have any problems with your suspension purchase then please phone this number between 8am and 2pm. CW Dismantlers; 01302 868 379 **note** if ordering from them on ebay you must state in the 'message to seller' bit what spring colour etc you want. Hope this clears up any doubts and saves future civic5 members getting hassle. Over and out Alastair
  2. But surely they can either refund our money or give us what we ordered? Others off this site have had suspension before and have been happy with it, so curely CW can swop over the suspension and keep us all kinda happy? I will be phoning them tomorrow at 8am after my shift and demanding that they sort out the dilemma. If they dont sort out the dilemma then i will inform them that there are a few people poised to take ebay action. Maybe that will make them think about trade descriptions act etc and sort it out before it snowballs into them being banned or something! Let you know details of conversation later....if they pick up the phone!
  3. Be careful as you bought the suspension for a CIVIC! They could throw that back at you though...but saying that, there not V6 ones! i didnt buy them for any particular purpose, i just felt like buying some v6 suspension. Lol, as you woke up and sat up then shouted "god damn it, I feel like i want V6 suspension today"! CW dismantlers have clearly stuffed up and should pay postage/courier to collect wrong parts. I bet that MGZS 180 parts could becoming harder to come by and they are sending out any old crap. Just as well we all noticed as some dozy people might not!
  4. We could just send him a link to this thread and let words of our members do the job? I emailed them last night (i work nightshift) and checked my email at 6pm tonight...NOTHING! They were quite happy to email my yesterday with abuse but when i identified the problem...silence!
  5. Having seen the recent post on here it seems that my shockers have been supplied incorrect! Correct front shocker part numbers; RNB000370, RNB000330 Part numbers i have been supplied; RNB000170, RNB000160 Also the front springs have a yellow stripe down then which according to other thread are from a 2.0L. WTF? Rear springs are blue which i'm not sure about tbh. I have emailed the ball bags to demand an explination on why this has happened as there system is DVLA tracked or whatever. blah blah blah.
  6. Be careful as you bought the suspension for a CIVIC! They could throw that back at you though...but saying that, there not V6 ones!
  7. Aaaaaah! This post is making sense to me. I started another post on here called MGZS suspension..Dakar Edition. I highlighted the problem with my set up being too high at the front etc. Looks like i've been done up like a kipper also! Will need to check springs and get numbers / colour codes off them now...more hassle for me!
  8. Got this reply from ebay seller, CW Dismantlers; Dear burbleboy, HI, AT THE END OF THE DAY THESE ARE NOT MEANT FOR CIVICS THEY ARE MEANT FOR HEAVY ENGINED ZS'S WITH BIG HEAVY V6'S IN. WE HAVE ALREADY TOLD THAT QUERY FROM EARLY THAT WE DO NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER ZS THEN THE 2.5 V6 WE ARE DVLA CONNECTED AND ALL INFO IS LOGGED ON THERE STRAIGHT FROM THE VIN. THESE SPRINGS ARE USED TO A HEAVY V6 SAT THERE NOW REPLACE THAT WITH A LIGHTWEIGHT HONDA LUMP THEN YOU ARE BOUND TO SIT HIGHER. BEST REGARDS CW - cwvehicledismantlers Not very helpful. I have done my research before buying these and everyone that has fitted the V6 suspension says that its great and lowere approx 20mm. I hope that is correct info as my car sits terrible...ref the pics. Front is higher than rear which will no doubt ADD unsersteer.
  9. No mate, only aftermarket mods were 17" wheels and rear parking sensors. Everything else was standard and springs that came off the car were black, a sign of standard springs in my opinion as lowered springs are usually coloured.
  10. Finally, some pictures of what im taking about..Dakar Edition; O/S/F N/S/F O/S/R N/S/R This is only picture i have side on (ebay and before i bought it) Car as stands just before i fitted ZS180 kit
  11. i think i bought from them too and i have just found out today they are not off a v6, mine also looks higher on the front. does the back bouncy wildly over bumps? How did you know they wernt from zs180? I have emailed ebay seller and now awaiting reply.... I will check part number and spring colour code the next time im at my mates garage..just hassle and just as well my mate fitted them as a garage would have re-charged me for fitting if they turn out to be non v6 shockers. p.s i know its a quote fail!!!!
  12. I'm having a bad day....photobucket seems to be playing up or my ancient laptop. Cant upload pics as yet. Fed up with cars and want to torch it along with my laptop.
  13. Wow! Cheers for that info! I will get pictures up soon to let you see what i mean...if you guys dont mind...opinions matter where the suspension has been fitted before! The dealer on ebay is recommended from this forum and they were defo described of zs 180! Cheers Ali
  14. Cant really go wrong with fitting complete units tbh. Car was standard before and springs look standard. Cant put my finger on why its soo feckin high! Pictures later when i get home from work!
  15. Hi troops, Just bought and fitted mg zs180 suspension after reading up about it. Well what can I say...it now sits even higher than before and on the drivers side front it is about an inch higher than passenger side. Yes handling improved but feel that, as the front is higher than rear, the handling has been compromised somehow. On the plus side is I can look down and peek at the HGV drivers as I drive past. I can do an oil filter change by simply just walking under my car....without ducking! Bugs me that the only way to sort is is spend more money on lowering springs.....which i wont do Suspension bought from ebay with cv vehicle dismantlers
  16. Hi there, No passenger footwell is dry mate! I checked the thermo intake gasket yesterday and found that two bolts needed a half turn to tighten so i'm hoping it was that. Getting head gasket test and sniff test done at my mates garage this week to rule that out! Thanks for the replies, posted this up in case i missed something!
  17. Hi, I topped up my expansion tank last week and re-checked yesterday, nearly empty! No leaks from hoses, no white smoke, no gunge on oil cap, no visible leak from tank. Radiator itself is in good condition and coolant present when take rad cap off! Also heaters are nice and hot. I searched the forums and only came up with thread regarding bottom hose as common fault but i checked mine! Replaced intake thermo gasket a few weeks ago but cant see any leaks when car is running. Any further suggestions peeps? Alastair
  18. Creepin Jesus! All that to get 190bhp? Some cars on here apparently get 190bhp from just air filter, exhaust, de-cat! I spent thousands on my Honda Accord and dont want to go down that road again! I think i will just be happy at what i have. Just thought that £200 would get me a wee bit more oomph! Me and my mates go on roadtrips around scotland and wanted my car to be a 'B road killer' and the extra oomph was for that! As said previous....mgzs suspension....for roadtrips! Thanks very much for the info...appreciated.
  19. What cheapish mods would improve my bhp then? I'm still annoyed at getting only 185bhp @ crank tbh! Having searched the 'search' facility on here i have read that people have changed air filter, manifold, stainless exhaust and got 190bhp! Less modifications than mine! I understand that every engine different but still want slightly more power for around £200 Any ideas, opinions? Saw this on ebay...worthwhile? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDM-Honda-DC2 ... 19d1f9beb3
  20. I suppose im happy at the gain of 17bhp for little modifications...and it does drive way better!
  21. Hrm, imagine a tuner dishing out information to me when it is incorrect and then me posting on a forum!
  22. When the guy phoned to tell me my car was ready, he said it's making 185bhp at the wheels, i can only take what he says as gospel! I'm no expert but i did pay for that information! Unless the guy has got mixed up and said its power at the wheels instead of flywheel? Printout is there for all to see....i dont know!! Im not being a bellend and claiming my car is mega bhp for show off status..i'm fed verbal information and have to go with that. I would be slightly annoyed if the professional tuner got his data mixed up!
