Craig mate can you tell me how do you conected those wing mirrors? Did you conect the defog function? Thanks is advance

  2. Installed new headlights i now i see much better, i recently had done some things to my trusty civic, changed all 4 shocks for kayaba, keeping stock, much better handling with the new shocks.

Also instaled a rear tailgate spoiler, have new front brembo front brakes to put in, new drivers side window regultator and new control arm bushings, will post pics of the bushings has i never saw similar ones, i like them, its oem design, differently from the ones splitted in half that tend to squeak if you dont lube them frequently and get squashed easy.

If anyone wants the part number for the bushings i will look for it.

I appreciate your precious attencion...have fun.

  3. Hello i have this rover 45 wing mirrors that have 2 black wires and one blue one brown and one gray.

I already opened the mirror to see and inside the blue wire is divided into two and each one goes to diffetent parts of the mirror motor, atached to the gray in one side and atached to the brown on the other side, this inside the mirror if i make me understand.

The thing is i want to know in my MB3 how i conect the wires for the mirror switch and how to make the heating element work.

I see people saying my MB3 has heated mirrors, but i dont know, i will check next time if the mirror is warm, i have a button for the heating of the rear window,  ut not one for the mirrors.

Is there any post of anyone that made this happen?

Also i have a problem with my rear window defogger, the button pushes in and lights up but doesnt hold conected, already changed the switch and is the same thing, if anyone can help i apreciate it.

    Thanks in advance,

Sorry to unearth this thread, but i have the same issue somehow.

I bought a pair of chrome power mirrors from a Rover 45, for my MC2.

There are a few differences though compared to the civic's (and rover 400's apparently). The 45 has 8-pin connectors vs 6-pin for the civic/400, and the colours of the wires don't match as you can see.

So i gathered that the 2 black cables are for heating mirrors, which my deck doesn't have. But the rest i can't figure out how to set them in the right order on the 6-pin connector.

I have tried multiple combinations, and i always got at least one direction (up/down/left/right) wrong. And of course i ended up shorting the board behind the buttons for the adjustment (down button wouldn't work anymore).

Now that i have bought another adjustment panel, i need to have the correct match for each wire. So if anyone has any clue, pls HALP!

Hi i just bought this same mirrors  did you manage to make it work? I dont want to brake anything.

Anyone knows how this mirrors retract?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Ok ill have that in mind cause i already changed one with rubber and got busted in no time and i dont like the look of it has less rubber than the one the car had originally.

Removing is a pain thats for sure have to cut the sleeve out and put it back in after was even harder...cause i dont have a press but its doable.

Are this ones you re telling about?

Yes I was initially told cannot change them. However on inspection you can.

Original outer should fit. For what they cost may aswell bang a new set on tho if yours are old.

Just use a decent brand. So they last.

hi soory to bother again wit this lol, but is there any torque specs for the inner tie rod?or is just tight enough with the red loctite? i am gonna do this today so just checking to be sure how to install it.

    thanks

p.s i bouthg the tie rod from quinton hazzel  brand, part number QR3614s.

Nice rims and awsome job on the engine bay, the One pipe looks shiny i bet it takes lots of cursing and back pain to put them looking like that again lol.

    cheers

Just thinking actually, it might work out cheaper for a repair by a local auto radiator company if you can find one.. These are some before and after pics of my heater bypass pipe (new one wasn't available).

Hi there, i made a bypass using the tubes from the car had to cut One just to put the valve functional.the pipe that comes from the side of the motor is connected to valve has normal and after the valve the tubes go directly to the back of the engine where the return from the heater Core was connected... The car functions has normal, There Will be no problems using this in the long Run?

I dont see that pipe you show for bypass on mine...

    Thanks man allways helping...

I Will post photos of my repair i made for you to see what i mean.

    Cheers

  15. hi folks hi wanted to ask if anyone knows where can i buy the heater core for my mb3, i searched on ebay but unfortnetly i cant put mb models in vechile only appear americans ej ek, so immnot sure if they fit or not, and maybe there is somewhere in europe where i can order one new for under 50€ as seen on ebay for ej ek models.

    thanks im advance

  16. I think its allways good to check for Passenger footwell and remove the sill to check if its wet on the underside of the carpet, cause as some of us know the heater Core in this cars tend to fail and if the puncture is small you only notice if the carpet is lifted and see if it looks wet.

I find out i had litres of radiador fluid on the foam the carpet has on the back

    Hope this helps

I've just taken a few photos that might help understand where things are..

Clips on each side towards the front. If you put for fingers in at the front, but at each side, you should be close enough to release them without stressing the trim.

    IMG_20210413_084910.jpg

These locating tabs at the back mean you need to lift from the front

    IMG_20210413_084917.jpg

These are the slots the locating tabs go into

    IMG_20210413_084923.jpg

Thanks a bunch dr broon for taking some time on making this photos...stellar !

On a side note, what shift knob is that mate? And your Trim looks like stealth... Is it water Paint transfer graphics?

  18. On 4/8/2021 at 7:55 AM, dr_broon said:

If you get your fingers under the front (where the cubby hole is) you can prise it up and pop a couple of clips either side. It should then just lift up from the front and out.

hi, i tried but seems its going to break before it pops, i tried to lift from the front of the boot shift trim, is this how it is done right?

    thanks

  19. wow that was a eye opener... for sure.

Are the tyres that much expensive from the 175x65r14?

I dint know if our cars can have 205 but i read somewhere that from stock the vti had max. 195, height wise 55 probably will rub when i turn is that it?

found also this ones from a mini clubman half the price of the rover ones, they look ok, tell me what you think works best visually if you might, and if this ones will fit asswell.

i will be painting them chamaleon i have here some copper gold look spray cans, will see...

    thanks

The way it works is the lower the ET number, the more it will stick out from the body of the car. And gernerally, the lower the ET, the bigger the dish on the wheel depending on style. We've got a bit on the site somewhere that has a diagram kinda explaining it. You can go for ones that are lower (Think Chandlers deck has quite low ET wheels) and have a bit of tyre stretch to keep it legal, but I've never been a fan of stretched tyres/stanced look. I'll see if I can get the specs from my wheels once the weather clears up a bit.

hi dave, im looking for ones from a rover mg zr the ones on the photo not sure if they will look nice on the car but i am trying to find cheap and nice at the same time is not easy lol

the specs for this are 6,5j x 16 ch , et 45.0 c sfi as shown in picture

the tyres installed on the wheels are 205/55 i suppose i had to change them in order to make them legal, right?

    thanks
