  1. Where’s best place for pressed plates guys? Don’t want to end up with poor quality ones... they’re for the mrs car
  2. Hi all, Just wanted to ask that everyone is aware of bikes (pedal and motor) at junctions... Especially this time of year. Because of the small front area it's hard to judge how quickly they are coming towards you. Last night someone wiped me out at a crossroads in the middle of Newcastle by turning right (slowly) when I was going straight ahead. Luckily I've escaped with bruises and a cracked carbon fork, but someone less able to bounce would have been much worse. The same applies on fast roads with motorbikes, but the results are much worse, as they will be doing much more than the 20mph I was doing. Cheers guys.
  3. Aerodeck vti isn't listed separately from the vti-s, so don't know if it's just missing or included here... Though would have thought there's have been more than 95 mc2 registered around 2001... Might be picked up in the first one. Either way, not many Vtis left around.. 93 licensed in total.
  4. Hello. Nothing to do with me, but I've just seen this on ebay... Don't see them coming up very often nowadays. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F233058908242
  5. Sorry if this has been asked before.. I did a quick search and didn't find my answer. I have a Aerodeck Vti.. I have skunk 2 TB and intake. I understand I may need a throttle cable from a DC2 can anyone confirm this? Thanks
  6. So, decided to finally sell the Civic TypeR FN2 (Roxy) for something a lot cheaper to run as my daily driver. Enter Carly, my 2008 Mini Cooper! She's only had 2 owners from new (same as Roxy), full history, Lower mileage than Roxy and decent spec compared to some Coopers we've looked at. Also got a cracking deal with the garage which saw me getting the car plus cash for trading in the FN2 which was a bonus! The colour looks like a champange metallic, but is actually called "sparkling silver", which we've found out is quite a rare colour on the Coopers, so that's a bonus!. The cars been really well looked after by previous owner and is immaculate bar one wee tiny mark on the front bumper (and knowing my ocd, that'll be a new front bumper she's getting then! lol). Plans are new alloys same as DD's, spotlights, Cooper stripes in black, tint the rear windows, and some interior upgrades. Cracking wee car to drive, really handles sweet! And still quick enough for me to have fun with, but also excellent mpg and cheap tax compared to the FN2. Anyways, here she is...
  7. Hello everyone. Thought I would share with you my new project. I used to have a project thread a few years ago but cant seem to log on to my old account and cant find my project anywhere so thought id just start a new one seeing as the car in now going in different direction . What started a few years ago as a bit of an all rounder and leaning more towards show car has now turned into a dedicated track and race car. My goal is to spend this year getting my race licence and preparing my car to enter the track attack Nippon challenge next march. This year is currently running at the moment so will be going to watch a few races and hopefully meet a few of the drivers. I have nearly all the parts for a big turbo setup which i was going to fit this summer but now i want to race im going to hold off on this as it would put me in the very competitive GT400 series. By leaving the engine standard ill be entering the GT200 series which for a novice i will be much more suited for. If all goes well and i re enter the year after ill build the engine and fit the turbo and go for the bigger leagues. For now its all about just getting into racing and having fun. Obviously seeing as it’s a racing series the car has to be built to the MSA blue book regulations which is what im working my way through at the moment. The project which im doing in my spare time has only just started and iv got plenty of time between now and next march to get the car built and tested on track days so i am taking my time. I don’t want to make any stupid mistakes either as the regulations are quite strict and im still learning. Any advice from anyone who does track days a lot or is involved in motorsport in any way would be much appreciated. Any way here is a few pics of how it stands now.
  8. Jimbo714

    New mb6

Just picked up this complete gem, being hunting for a while and on the chance left a note on window and got the call the other day!!!!
  9. Can't remember if I saw this here in the first place, but just came across it in my favourites on my phone and thought I'd share it coz it's pretty cool https://www.motor1.com/news/268425/honda-civic-history-slideshow/
  10. Hi. Can any one help with engine code and hp etc Of a Aerodeck 1.6 1999 ? Thanks
  11. Hi, i've found a pair of those rare metal door sills for the MB, turns out the bloke is selling them for 30 euros. From what I remember, i've seen these go for 150 at minimum. Does anyone know the true value of these things?
  12. so what spoilers are you using and any one using spoiler off a different car thats not a civic ill start with my pic lol
  13. Random one. Anyone know if the handbrake (brake fault) light comes on at the same time as abs light? Reason I ask. I currently have abs disconnected and my handbrake light is on all the time. I have checked for faults in the fluid reservoir cap and handbrake switch. Both are fine. So wondering if I need to track down wiring fault or is it just because abs disconnected.
  14. Photos from our wee trip to Myreton Motor museum in Mindy our MX5. We decided on a nice run to Dunbar via the coast road, so taking in Longniddry, Aberlady, Gullane and North Berwick then Dunbar. This is a tiny wee museum based in East Lothian just outside Aberlady. The building(s) are basically in the middle of nowhere, but it is sign posted well! Lots of classic cars in various states of repair, some wearing original patina, some restored or part restored. Also lots and lots of interesting stuff including a history on Jim Clark. Also motorbikes, memorobilia and anything car related. Great wee place and well worth a look. Entry is just £7 for adults so quite reasonable, and you can be in there as long as you like. Excuse the photos, just took them with my phone! Customized 1980's Fiat X/19. The paintwork on this is amazing, multicoloured metal flake! Old Citroen is in beautiful condition. As was this wee beauty! Only done 1800 miles if I remember rightly! Always been a sucker for old Fords! Love this, so cool! And this wee pair were in stunning condition! Amazing how small both of these are compared to their modern counterparts. My favourite Rolls Royce, the Silver Shadow (series 2 I think?) Mini Innocenti replica Jowett Bradford van. I knew Jowett made the Jupiter and Javellin, but never knew they made a van. Unusual and very nice condition. Sunbeam Rapier. I used to love the shape of these when I was little, my uncle had one in metallic turquoise. Was a stunning car back then! Got a thing for old Humbers like this too.........look so much like a 57 Chevy or 57 Plymouth Volvo 340, used to be such a common sight on our roads. This ones a nice 1 owner low miler. Then on to upstairs! Lots of memorabellia, bicycles, pedal cars, toys, petrol ration books and so much more! Bugatti pedal car!! Would have loved this when I was a kid! Although I did have a Mini pedal car which was really cool! And Mindy, sitting relaxing in the sun before the second part of our run.
  15. Can anyone recommend somewhere to have a roll Cage installed. I know a few people on here building track cars have had cages installed so where did you get it done and how much did it cost? I want it to be MSA and FIA approved so it can be used for racing. I have contacted Safety Devices for a quote and their FIA approved cage is coming in at 3k for supply and fitting which seems a bit steep to me. Any advice on places and how much it cost them would be much appreciated, especially from anyone in the motorsport community.
  16. So, as I've been ill recently (had a heart attack while working in the garage) I'm not allowed to work on my cars until I recover. Well, decided to build the suspension on the MX5 (aka Mindy), fit the brake discs and calipers, oh and respray the car! Not the real one of course! I was lucky to get two identical models of the MX5 for my Christmas (one from Gayle and the other from my eldest stepdaughter Jacklyn and her husband Marc) so decided to chill out and build one of them. Model is 1/24 scale by Tamiya Got some parts painted prior to building. Brake discs with red calipers, exhaust, shocks with red springs (slight deviation from the instructions but just my preference). Also did front and rear wishbones, front rear subframes and all other parts. Detailed the underbody tub, so exhaust, petrol tank , bottom of engine etc all done. Rear suspension etc all ready to build Front suspension all built and added to tub. Rear all built and ready to fit Interior painted and put together. Really proud of my wee wood look gear knob! Mixed various colours to try and get the right look! The body required sanding down with fine wet and dry as there were a lot of casting marks that I wasn't happy with. Decided to buy proper "Mazda Classic red" paint from Halfords (part of my ocd thingy!) Resprayed the body, but not too happy with the finish so that will be getting done again. Even though I used paint prep wipes, and a plastic primer, the paint seems to have reacted with the plastic so truned out pants (well, in my opinion anyways!) so deffo redoing that. Final pics are of the completed model. When I build the second one, I'm going to use a different glue too as the one I have is also crap, quite stringy. Anyway, totally enjoyed building this, really theraputic. Looking forward to the second one! Oh, I haven't put any of the number plate decals on as I'm making my own (which will be same as Mindys!)
  17. Happy Christmas everyone! Hope it's been a good one
  18. Any one good at photo shop? Thinking a nice rover kingfisher green for my alloys I do like to be different
  19. Spotted this in St hellier today (we're on hols hete). Silver vti deck, vtis mid spoler and kit, looked really clean. Anyone from here?
  20. So, going for full MTEC brake change and fitting some HEL braided lines at the same time. Just gone to take the first front brake hose off. All gone smoothly, drained hose, all disconnected, removed the sliding metal clip for the top fixing where the hose connects to the brake line. AAAnnnndddd.......... What the chuff is still holding this onto the bracket? Ive unscrewed the brake line nut, removed clip on top, can't anything else that should come off or move, is it just the power of 20 years worth of corrosion holding it on? should it pull down through the little bracket? or it it part of the bracket?
  21. Noticed recently that members who have posted images that are hosted on photobucket now have a generic image from photobucket inserted where their own image was (like photos of cars in members project threads have been replaced with an image stating " upgrade to third party hosting"). ive been onto my own photobucket and have used the normal link for posting images in forums and it displays fine? I gather they have changed the format of the links slightly so that previously posted images now dont display? Can you take 5 mins to check photos youve posted from photobucket and if you see the "upgrade to 3rd party" image instead of your own image, try copying your images link (the one for forums) and posting it again to see if it works?
  22. Hi has anyone got a set of rear caliper bracket and pins for the 260mm disc near the derby area thanks
