  1. Hello all, I hope someone can help me. Have had this ongoing intermittent problem for over a year & it's getting worse / more frequent, I have had several mechanics have a look & no one has been able to lock down exactly what the issue is as it could be so many things, but hoping someone else on here may do. Usually it starts spluttering loosing power mid revs but has done in all rev ranges over time, now I get most times when I re fill the tank (but not always) which makes me think it's a fuel issue (injectors partially blocked etc) but have been told it could well be the distributor. It tends to go if you change gear & sometimes also clears when you give it some welly, but not always, tends to only last a few miles & then drives normal, but it's been becoming very frequent to the point of most times it's driven, so i really want to tackle the issue before it leaves me stranded. Things checked Lambda has been checked, not prefect put working within acceptable tolerances O2 sensor was checked & seemed to be working fine HT leads been out one by one at night on the engine to check for one arching New fuel filter fitted. Iridium spark plugs fitted I just don't want to spend a fortune on this that & the other in the elimination process if I can help it as I am on quite a low budget being no longer capable of work due to injuries from an RTA, but I love this car & want to keep it in good order mechanical. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Carly Cooper (my gen 2 MINI) got two new rear brake calipers, pads and sensors (cos the brakes went on Christmas Eve!) Will add a pic of those later. DD my Honda Civic Aerodeck got a promise from me to renew her front caliper and get her mot, plus possibly some paintwork in the spring/summer.

  5. So finally got myself a refurbed P28 ecu with Hondata S300 ready to plug and play from H-tune. Took it to a respectable tuner, and in absence of a B18C4 basemap he downloaded a close-enough map from the Hondata website and started with dealing with the engine fault codes that came on. Once sorted out, started the engine, and it would cut off at 2000rpm and not show any codes. After fiddling around the map with the laptop for a while, without any particular reason, the engine started working as normal and he proceeded to map the car on the dyno. Once it was done, i took it for a test drive, and the same thing as in the beginning happened again: limp mode at 2000rpm. Took it back, laptop back on, no fault codes, he looked through the whole map and each menu again without finding any problems, and after a bit suddenly it worked again. So i started driving home, car worked great, and after a while i stopped for coffee. When i started the engine again: limp mode. And no matter what, i couldn't get it working properly again. So had to swap back the original ecu to get back home. The tuner said there isn't really much he can do, since there was nothing to be found with the S300 manager program to point to the source of the limp mode. He said all he could think of was that there's some sort of compatibilty problem with the P28 and B18C4 that doesn't show on Hondata, and my best bet for now would be internet research. So here i am. I've searched the forum pretty thoroughly and read pretty much every thread with P28 on the title, but can't seem to figure this out. Has anyone had a similar problem?

  8. There is an interesting thread about what qualifies semi modern cars as classics over on our sister Site : https://www.futureclassiccars.uk/index.php?/forums/topic/43-what-do-you-think-makes-a-car-a-modern-classic/ I'm a bit staid in my ways so I'd love to hear opinions from younger enthusiasts.
  9. Guys, for a longer period i have something like tiny grinding on slow shifts and slightly not so smooth shifting, which i solve with double clutchnig or faster shifting. Along with this, reverse gear somethimes doesnt want to engage, and after s**ting to any fwd gear, it slides in. Pretty common issue, as i can read. Beside this, all the time lever is light and clicking precise. But, few days ago, after night in garrage, gear lever at once became hard to engage. Rest of the gears work as before, only reverse is problem. Like it is jammed somehow, and needs more pull. Sometimes it slide smoother. It is the same both with engine on and off. Any ideas?
  10. Hello, I've been following this forum for a while but never introduced myself so I think it's about time that I do this My name is Ringo, i'm from Belgium so my Englisch isn't the best but I'll try. I have my aerodeck mc2 now for almost a year. When I bought him it had 110.000 km. This is when I bought him : My first modification were wheels and h&r lowering springs. I also changed the oil to mobil1 5w40 and mounted a itr oem airbox. Changed the sparkplugs and installed a cat converter. This week I'm gonna change the brake pads to ebc black ones. I also did a big order at all4honda.nl, a 5 panel mirror, a sensor for oiltemp and oilpress, a new fuelfilter, a hamp oilfilter, an oilpan gasket, a exhaust header gasket, a few little things and the biggest thing, an invidia g200 catback from a civic coupe/sedan 92-95. Also I want to buy a utcomp board computer and install the oil sensors on it. I also bought a vti-s front and back lip wich must be painted in red. I had the chance to buy a secondhanded tegiwa toda rep header wich is almost brand new. When the new updates are installed I'll be posting some new pictures. This is a picture of me and hondaprojason when he visited the netherlands : edit november 2015 : these are the mods i've did so far: performanceitr airbox with k&n filter and cold air feedtegiwa toda rep. headerdecatsrs r60 catbackinsane shafts driveshaftsoem itr clucthact streetlight flywheelhamp oilfilterebc brakepads suspensionh&r coilover kitrota grid 17x7,5 et45black lugnutspirelli p zero nero 205-40-17mg zs 18mm swaybar rearenergy suspension front swaybar endlinks bushingsenergy suspension gear shift bushings interiortegiwa 360 degree shifter extensiontegiwa type r gear knob5-panel mirror exteriorvti-s lip kitvti-s spoilergrill and logo wrapped in matt blackfake air intakes in fog surroundingsheadlights tinted in blackwhite sidemarkersdebadged trunknew paint on vti-s kit, trunk rear bumper, mirrors, and doorhandlestegiwa rear tow hookpainted brake calipers redclimair window visors frontshort atenna engine baydarkicedesigns hoodstrutspassword jdm radiator staypassword jdm vtec solenoid covertegiwa washers tenzo-r battery tiedownskunk2 plug cover future modsutcomp trip computer (working on it)engine dress-upwindow visors rear and roofwindow tintingheadlights blackhousing diynew paint valve coverskunk2 water hosesbishimoto water reservoir
  11. As above, anybody doing anything exciting this year? Now the year long January is out of the way, how do you think 2018 is stacking up so far and what have you all got planned for the months ahead? I've just booked myself a track day at Spa in October, I'll do a few shows and hopefully treat the cars to some parts too! My plan is to be broke....a lot
  12. Hi, for a few days now, i am a new owner of 1999 aerodeck VTi. So far i am happy with how the car, but i am interested in doing some suspension/handling mods. I tried looking for MG ZS180 rear ARB, but they seem to be all gone, since i was not able to find any for sale. Because of this, i was wondering, if there are any other cars that has similar suspension to MC2. I know that some parts from EK/EG/DC2 could possibly fit, but wanted to know, which are the closest to decks. Also those mentioned before have many more aftermarket options, but only some ebay sellers mark their items as (fits: civic aerodeck) and even then i am not sure if these parts will fit. I saw some mentions that for example DC2 LCAs are almost identical to M series civics, and mainly was thinking, whether would also rear arb from DC2 fit with just a slight modifications. So what i am asking for is recommendation about what parts should i look for, that would require the least amount of modifications to fit my deck. I am a bit late to this game and see that there are only few members still active, but i will try to keep you posted with any progress to the car. Thanks in advance for any relevant info. Edit: i forgot to mention, that i am working with CNC mills and have also access to lathes, so i can make most needed spacers, brackets and stuff. So if i get some coilovers that have the highest point of adjustment too low for my liking, i will simply make aluminium plates, to rise it up a bit
