  1. Hello there guys and girls, my name Is Mark Gompertz and I am sort of new to the Honda scene. I've just found this forum so thought I'd introduce myself and make a thread to upload progress pictures up! So to start off.. I picked up this little big beauty from a car auction site (copart) for a fair price! Intentionally bought it to take its running gear out and put in my old micra! () But as soon as I sat in and started playing with its little gadgets like the air con, light dimmer switch, electric Windows and electric sunroof, half leather interior, seeing how much boot space there was! And then I drove it.. It was such a smooth, responsive car that handled amazingly with that LSD differential, and then you put your foot down and stuff happens! The b18c4 engine ran like it had just left the factory even being on 138,000 miles. I fell in love with it that day. (The light dimmer switch was what won me over...) The previous owner had put on a private plate and left it still assigned to the car V37 NAM which looks a bit like Vietnam which is where the the name has came from! I've had a few people mention it to me in the street like "hey it says Vietnam haha!" It's comical and brightens my day ! Lol Back to the present! 7 months and 10,000 miles have passed by and I have fiddled with a few things modification wise.. I've put bucket seats and a harness in (ran out of gas to weld brackets for the passenger harness) I've ghetto lowered it, but will buy some coilovers when I get the funds! some mega wide 16" junk dregs on with a little amount of stretch on the back, I've put rear camber bolts in to make the rear wheels legal, running something like 4-5 deg of camber ive put on vtis front and rear bumpers and side skirts as my standard bumpers were a bit battered and fogs were bus and they had the lips still on ive stripped out the interior from the back seats to the boot ive cut out slots in the bumper do reduce all that drag added a HONDA sunstrip which is mega race car HID's team heko wind deflectors red cam cover purply pink led sidelights bumper ties rear tie bar and tow hook engine wise I've put a skunk2 pro inlet manifold on, s2000 air filter, Magnacore HT leads, new OEM Honda stem seals and other various stem seals when I put a new head gasket on i got a hole of a ram horn exhaust manifold from a friend of mine that was on his b18 CR-X! my initial plan was to make a full front to back system, but.. I'm not a very subtle type of person so as you can see from the pictures I went for a bumper exit! 4-1 to a stainless 9 degree 3" bend and a 3" straight pipe to the bumper, it sounds pretty mega up the revs and pulled a lot better than when I had the standard system onł Took her to Japshow 2016 on the Micra Sports Club stand Monster truck mode enabled! At my local track on Anglesey, Trac Mon. And then I finally got round to lowering it! Also put in HID's in and took the roof bars off Sunstrip and sticker from when I went on Anglesey track! Red cam cover, s2000 filter and skunk 2 pro inlet manifold, bit of a mess but it looks a lot more tidy now I got rid of the unnessasary hoses and the IAB canister and cabon canister i picked up this exhaust manifold from a friend, had a crack in port no.4 that needed welding up which I got my dad to do as he is amazing at fiddly welding jobs and always manages to make it look neat What the system looks like in full here it is on the car! Pretty much all visable when you take the bumper off which is easy with the bumper ties As you'd expect it is quite loud.. I will be putting a silencer in the middle of the pipe from just after the bend to just before the inside of the bumper soon but it's not my main priority at the moment it pops when you tickle the throttle on overdrive at 2k revs which is fun, and sounds like a racing bike at around 6-8k Ive ordered some exhaust Spring hooks so that the collectors are tight together as I have a slight blow coming from the join, and will put some exhaust paste around to seal In the past couple days I have spaced up the bonnet 20mm and put in purpely pink led sidelights which are pretty And to bring this massive introduction of myself and Vietnam to a close (until I post up here next, the most recent mod I have done is swap over the faces from a set of integra clocks I acquired off eBay for a bargain price, and stuck them to my OEM dials, and pt in the yellow needles, still need to do the temp and fuel gauges and change the colour of the illumination lights but once it's all done it'll be great! I hope you enjoy my pretty much DIY/ghetto build, I'll be uploading pictures and some videos from now on, some of you may already know me and I already know a couple but it's nice to meet you all and fingers crossed I meet you guys at some meets /shows! Peace! -Mark
  2. well I'm building again but a little different this time my 8 year old son wants to build a car with me so got a hold of a ratty old coupe it's a mess and needs totally redone lol I'll get some pics for your amusement . I've never done a d series before I'm thinking of turbo so advice on which way to go would be appreciated guys .
  3. Since I joined Civic5 and started seeing all the nice Ms I have wanted to have a VTI deck in Pirates Black but due to financial reasons and the price they would be selling for I was unable to fulfil my dream..The other morning I went on Auto Trader just to have a look as usual with no plans of buying a Car..but as I searched for Honda Civic Estates I saw this ad of someone selling a Pirates Black one in Birmingham so me and mrs. decided to go have a look at the car..but as soon as we saw it we knew we have to buy it..so I took it for a test drive and loved it..It's done 136k..Completely standard..2 Previous owners and the last owner had it for 8 years..and it's evident that he looked after it and didn't abuse the car..There is no rust anywhere..some swirls and minor scratches on the paintwork but nothing major..I am very happy and excited to have this car and looking forward to some nice changes Pictures from the ad. I haven't taken any yet..but tomorrow morning if the weather is nice I will take some more

    My eg hatch

Hi guys, swapped the eg coupe I had with a mate of mine. Always wanted a hatch and his was a very clean example with some nice minor mods. It's a lsi model so it's only a 1.5. I still have my rebuilt b18c4 but need to source a p28 ecu, vti dash loom, gearbox shafts and linkage to complete the swap. The car came with some bandedsteels that is made. Iv since swapped them for some rota slips, removed some stickers and fitted a standard back box.

  7. To all members! happy new year! Can't wait to get out to some meets and Mimms this year
  8. Hi all. Just wondered if there are any people from here planning on going to the 2017 Mimms honda show? Supposedly some track time as peer the FB page but I can't find anything on the show Web site. Cheers, Dave
  9. Hello all, I’m new to the forum so will give you a little back ground about me, Spent years playing around with various cars, bikes quads etc and never really had anything very fast. In the summer we went for a rolling road day at a tuners in Leicester and got talking with the owner and he convinced me to build a civic turbo. So when I left there I spent weeks and weeks searching the internet for information on Honda’s, let me tell you if you’re not used to Honda’s its very confusing with all these Ek, Eg, Ej, Mb, Ma, etc etc I then came across a lovely clean Mb6 Aerodeck 1.8 Vti and thought would make a great sleeper, as well as coming with Lsd, 1.8 Dohc as standard. Got the car for just over £1300 with full extensive service history so I was quite pleased in the end. I then took the car to the tuners for a rolling road for a health check and power run, It made 163 Bhp which is not bad considering its only lost 7 hp in 15 years, ( and has a slight exhaust blow ) Once confirmed that car was ok to start building i began to write a list of parts needed, based on what i got told i needed and normal replacement parts such as cambelt kit etc. That list over the last 6 weeks has just got longer and longer. I planned on getting it to 300 bhp, and then wanted to make sure the engine was strong enough to be used on a daily basis and now we are looking at making it a 500bhp car. Thanks for looking more pictures to follow
  10. Hi Guys, I'm back! This might not be a very busy thread but here is my new love. I haven't had a chance to give her a real clean up so here's a sneaky pic. (more rto come) being an '07' she's one of the first built, #818. But with only 61k miles on the clock she's a young'un in my eyes.
  11. When I first signed up here I mentioned I'd have an MB6 in a few months. It has now been a few months. It's a completely standard (for now!) Sicilian Red VTi with 90k on the clock. We've had it in the family for 8 years and I actually had the pleasure of learning to drive in it. Probably why I passed first time. I'm picking the car up from my parents' place on Saturday (which is when their insurance ends and mine starts) so for now here's a few pictures I took a while ago. Current mod list: - Audio -- Pioneer DEH-X5600BT headunit -- Vibe CBR10 EVO Active V2 box with Alpine SWR-10D2 subwoofer - Interior -- CREE LED interior and boot lights -- Domokun front seatbelt pads -- OEM cup holders -- Moman plasma dials -- eBay "Mugen" weighted gear knob -- Personal Neo Grinta 330mm steering wheel w/ eBay boss - Exterior -- Large OEM fog lights -- eBay 100W yellow fog light bulbs -- Horizon LEDs 35w 6000K HID kit -- LED sidelights and number plate lights -- Black surround headlights -- Clear side repeaters -- Mesh grill -- Totally JDM decals -- Dechrome -- "Honda" number plate surrounds -- Pressed number plates -- Team Heko wind deflectors -- VTiS front splitter -- VTiS side skirts -- VTiS rear lip -- JDM rear lights -- Pikachu tow hook charm -- Silvertec front indicator bulbs -- Jazz washer jets -- Debadge - Engine -- Resonator delete -- Powerflow 2" cat-back exhaust with Turborevs 3.5" back box -- Air con delete -- Tenzo-R cold air intake -- Magnecor KV85 ignition leads -- Skunk2 VTEC solenoid cover -- H-Tune P28 -- Dark Ice Designs bonnet gas struts - Chassis -- Japan Racing JR3 16x7JJ ET40 wheels -- 215/45R16 Falken Ziex ZE914 Ecorun tyres -- MeisterR Zeta S coilovers -- MG ZS 180 20mm rear anti-roll bar with SuperFlex poly bushes -- MTEC Grooved Black Edition brake discs -- Mintex brake pads -- Goodrich braided brake lines

  13. One night i was in north London Edmonton and was given a ride home by a friend. He had a pirate black Aerodeck 1.8 vti,he took me from Edmonton to Islington and needless to say i was bitten by the "HONDA" bug. i couldn't believe the performance of this family estate...................... Next came the fast and furious and that was it,i wanted a MB6,but all my friends had pirate black MB6 so i wanted to get a different colour and after months of looking at MB6s i found a white MB6 in leeds..................(full story when you see me) my first mod was new wheel studs on all 4 wheels, this is the car as standard in 2007 .
  14. right then guys think its about time to start a new project. work officially commences on sunday. going to warm up my swappin the rear suspension, hubs, brakes etc over. got a coupla bits arrive today.. so here the first pics, since i know a thread is useless with no pics right!..
  15. Another project on the go this will be setup for track use. Honda Integra DC2 Type R 98 spec What it looked like when we picked it up More to come
  16. Ok, as most of you know, I've been debating which Honda to sell as I can't keep ip with trying to work on all 3 of them. The deck was always going to stay, so she's safe. So I had to decide between Ruby (Civic VTi MB6) and Lexy (Civic TypeS FN1), which one do I sell. The one which stayed was going to have to become my daily driver. But I couldn't decide, because I loved the thrill of driving Ruby (the fun and the power) but couldnt go back to driving her every day. And I loved the creature comforts, the safety, and the solidness of Lexy............But she just didn't have the fun factor having no power! What to do!!!? After a month of sleepless nights (seriously!), Gayle came up with the perfect solution! Sell em both and buy a TypeR! It made perfect sense, because with that I can have the best of both the MB6 and the TypeS all rolled into one! So, with Lexy traded in, it's time to introduce the new TypeR in my life, Roxy! one thing i was stuck on was what do we call her?? Then again, Gayle came up trumps! She's replacing Ruby and Lexy, so a combination of those two names would be perfect! Ruxy sounded a bit daft, so after more thought.....................Roxy was born! Ok, now the car. Shes a 2008 Honda Civic TypeR GT in Alabaster silver, bought from our Civic5 Official Traders Western Honda @ the Fort, Edinburgh. She's already got the optional 19" polished alloys, which really make her stand out. And although I wouldn't normally go out and buy a silver car (had a few before though), she looked stunning and a bit different to the usual red or black TypeR's. Ideally I wanted white, but silvers as close as I could get so yeah, well, chuffed. She also has the TypeR decal pack from Honda, so has the TypeR grill badge and quarter panel decals. Then the modding started!!! Oooops! Um, think I've broke her! First thing I had to do was install my double din touch screen Pioneer head unit I had in the TypeS. To fir this into these civics is a major task, as you need to dismantle pretty much everything, including the full centre console from front to back, and a lot of the dashboard too. And for some reason, i couldnt get the gear lever gator to let go of the gearstick, so had to cut it But this was always going to be changed for the nice new red Suede one I have coming for it. So, after much caffufle, the head unit along with the Sat Nav unit all fitted and looking pukka! Much nicer! So whats next? Well, first of all I need to get Ruby sold! I'm buys prepping her and detailing her ready for sale. Got a new front bumper sitting waiting to go on as her original one has scuffs on it from before I bought her, and thinking about just taking her MeisterR suspension off (the Deck has been eyeing these up!) and selling her for £1300 with standard suspension back on. Oh and meant to add, Roxy is going back into Western Honda for brand new rear brakes as they were an advisory on the MOT, and also to have her alloys fully refurbished. Steve at western agreed to have all this done as part of the deal, so alls good! Should be going in soon Future plans for Roxy are: Wind deflectors Red Suede gear gator Some wee minor imperfections on the bodywork fixed (stone chips etc) Tinted windows Possible induction kit for a bit more noise! Stainless steel Powerflow exhaust when the time comes to replace the standard one. Mudflaps (possibly)
  17. right anyone wanting poly bushes but don't want to get raped for em. use http://www.strongflexuk.co.uk/ they usually take about a week to arrive but are good quality and cheaper than most other places! they also have a category for our cars!!
  18. I just bought an mb2 can anyway give me ideas of what to do and where to buy parts for it from
  19. Before I start taking bits off, does anyone know if this broken edge can be replaced by itself or if I need a whole wing mirror? cheers
  20. Current State: Original post & how things looked when I first got the MB! (so much has changed ) Hey all, Just wanted to post some pics of my latest addition. Super stoked and excited to get started with some subtle mods etc. Picked it up a couple weeks ago, only had 1 owner from new, 51,000 genuine hpi, dealer and M.O.T backed miles!!! with a full, and I mean every single stamp for its age service history from a main Honda dealer! Couldn't believe how clean the car was underneath / arches etc. Drives like new and has had no expense spared. Couldn't have asked for a better start for a project. Hoping to start with some small things like some new mats, skunk2 gear knob, clear side repeaters...that kind of thing. then looking to upgrade the brakes, suspension and Chassis. Once all thats sorted I'll take a look at the drivetrain, As after giving it a good couple runs I was thinkin that I want just a little more out of it. don't get me wrong, Im very pleased with the performance as it is and I love the sleeper vibe it has, surprises lot of people which is why I deffo want to keep the body stock over changing for the VTI-S kit. But I figure a stage 2 clutch, flywheel, Full exhaust incl headers and cat, decent CAI, Skunk2 Inlet mani, Cams and a map along with a couple other supporting mods would go along way in making the car stand out from the crowd and keep me satisfied for a good while. Anyway will keep things posted as I get on. Love The Colour It goes in the Sunlight!
  21. Hi all My Micra has had it's day so I picked up this Civic MB6. I know it's not your typical EK Civic but it's still got the B18C4. It's certainly quicker than the Micra. It wont set any speed records but it does shift pretty well. The Car It has 89,000 miles, a bunch of paperwork and MOT till end of August. The car has had some track use before, the guy was on RetroRides It's pretty much standard, it has a set of 35mm lowering springs and a stainless steel (silent) rear can. Plans - I'm having the window tints done pay day, I don't like being in a goldfish bowl. - I've bought some G3 rubbing compound to remove the cloudiness on the headlights. - Some BC coilovers, expensive but worth it. - New brake pads. Preferably GreenStuff. It has OMP pads at the moment and they don't feel the best. Stay tuned!
  22. So possibly a little premature, although I thought i'd begin the thread now So this is what I've commited to buying; Only 78k !!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281233626417?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Providing he doesnt mess me around and its as described, I collect monday evening .. Cannot wait .. First additions will be a new stereo as it has the standard tape player still in! Any suggestions? And wheels will be swapped over .. WIll get a pick up ASAP .. Plus more pic's from when i pick her up on Monday .. Also have an indcuction kit that will fit so will get that on prompto too ..
  23. Well since I have been on this forum for a little while now I suppose I should show how the civic is going even though there is plenty to come! This is the way i bought her, clean unmodified (except from the back box) was perfect to start with. The car was very well looked after when i got her FSH inside was immaculate one arch needed done but that didnt bother me it was straight into the paintshop for repair with a new panel. The power of the b18 still impresses me for the age of the car! From there I hated the original 5 spoke just not my taste so I purchased a set of speedlines in need of refurb. This is them after a sandblast and powdercoat primer. Some how it wont let me put more picture in this post so i will continue below!
  24. Hey ho. As some people might already know i ran over a badger. So now I need to replace my front bumper, but where can i find one? It shouldhave a "Materialgutachten" (a certificate which we need here in Germany to be able to put bodykits on our cars). I'm searching for weeks but I can't find anything, only lips or stuff for show-cars. Thanks!
