  12. How to display your photos in a post. NOTE: For uploading photos direct to the forum, the limit is 5mb per post. So 1 photo that is 5mb, or two photos that are 2.5mb each and so on. You can easily add photos to your post! When creating a topic, Look at the bottom left corner of the box. You will see "Attach Files". Click the "choose files" button next to it to upload your photos from your computer to the forum. Then next to each uploaded photo, click the "add to post" button. Simples! If on the other hand you have photos stored on a site like photobucket etc that you want to show, you can do it the following way. Your photo will be given various URL's (links) by photobucket etc, Its these links that you need, as these are what you post on the forum. The forum will then recognize the link as a photo/image link, and display your photo here on the site. Ok, now the instructions. 1. Choose the photo you want to show. 2. Upload the photo to a photo hosting site, such as http://www.photobucket.com (you may have to register on whatever site you choose to host your photos.) 3. Once logged into your photo hosting site, you will see a list of "URL's" (links) next to your photo. The one you need is the "Direct link" (Photobucket images only) 4. Copy the "Direct link" url of your photo, and paste it into your post on civic5. 5. Done!! That was easy!

  20. When creating a topic, say your project thread for your car or maybe asking a question in the forum, and you've clicked "start new topic", you will see on the page under "Topic Title" a text box called "Topic Tags". This is for putting in tags (key words) that help your topic get recognized by search engines such as Google, Bing etc. This also bumps Civic5 up the search ratings because Google has found key words in your topic that match what someone is searching for. So here we will explain how to add tags. If you have already added tags, you can add more (we have updated the list) to your current topics by going to the first post in your topic, click edit then "full editor". Then just click the "add Tags" button as below. We have started updating your project threads/topics and have added tags to quite a few now, but feel free to update your own topics. For PC/Laptop/Tablet users: Ok, so you've clicked the "Start new topic" button, and your ready to create your topic. Once you have given your topic a title, in the "Topic tags" box click "Add a tag". (see Image 1 below) Image1 A drop down box will appear with a pre-defined list of tags. (see Image 2) Image2 Click on which ever tags suit your post. If possible, always add the tags "Honda Civic MA" or whatever civic you have, plus use the "Honda Civic Hatch" if it's a hatch you have or the "Honda Civic Aerodeck" one if you have a deck. If your topic is not something car related, still use the above two tags and also use the "General chat" tag. Here, we selected the "Honda Civic Aerodeck" and the "Honda Civic MC" tags and will also add the "How to DIY Guide" tag seeing as this is a guide.(Image 3) Image 3 Then just carry on creating your topic as usual. Easy! For Mobile users: When you click "Start new topic" button, your topic creation page shows. In the middle of the screen you will see a button called "Edit topic tags" (Image 1B) Image 1B Click the "Edit topic tags" and a drop down list will appear showing the available tags. (Image 2B) Image 2B Select your tags by clicking on them, then click the "Add" button. They will be added to your post.( Image 3B) Image 3B Once you've added your tags, Just click the "close button" on the tag box. (Image 4B) Image 4B Then just carry on creating your topic as usual. Easy!
  21. Ok, this is to help anyone who might not know how to post photos on the web. Here's how to post pictures on this site. This How To is also used to display an image in your signature (the bit underneath all our posts) To change your sig, go to the top right of the page, click your username to see the dropdown menu, and select "Account settings". You will then see a new page, and on the left side, a menus bar. Fifth one down is "signature". Click on it, and you will see a box where you can fill in what you want in your signature. If you want a photo in it, click the "Choose files" button and choose a photo from your pc/device. Once it has uploaded the photo, click the small "add" symbol on the photo and it will add it to your signature. You can also use photos hosted elsewhere such as photobucket. To use one of these, visit your image on photobucket etc and copy the url of the image. Paste the url into the signature box. Now click "save changes" and you're done! Please note, maximum size of sigs are 600 x 100px NOTE: For photobucket images, you need to use the "direct link" option on photobucket. Dave
