  1. So, Gayle had got me a driving experience, so had it booked for today. Driving what? A Ferrari California and a Lamborghini Gallardo on the track! The track itself is laid out on an old air strip. The Ferrari only had a V8, but wholly cow the power was awesome, really scary the acceleration these things have! Loved it! Then got to drive the Lambo.............which has the V10! OMFG! This thing is an animal!!!! The acceleration is brutal, and it just keeps going! All steering is done racing style, and you just point it and it goes there! Totally unbelievable car, and the sound is just amazing! The instructor in the Lambo (a Welsh guy ) was a racing driver (can't remember what he races in) so showed some awesome lines to take to really make it fly. As we were on the last lap, he said instead of braking for the corner as usual, we're going straight on....................so keep the foot planted until I say brake!! I glanced at the speedo when we went through the chicane, and think it was around 120mph (it was going up so fast was hard to make it out!) but reckon we must have hit maybe 150? before braking then coming back in to the stand area. My bloody adrenaline was going faster than the car bye the end! So I've decided......bugger vtec! I want a Lambo! Massive thanks to Gayle for this amazing experience! Love ya babes!

You might recall I used to have a Bronze MB6 that was really on it's last legs bodywise, but performed exceptionally well! I sold it and bought a Celica, and now the time has come to let that go! I am back in a Civic! Not a 5 I'm afraid, but I've gone for a FN2 Type R. If you guys are gathering at Dynodaze anytime soon, give me a shout and I'll fly down and say hi! Cheers guys! Scott

  11. A bit odd topic perhaps but bear with me Does it matter to you guys what kind of wiper blades you use? I think that especially in older cars (pre 2000's mainly) it can make some difference like having nice set of wheels. Small detail of the car but still. Now i've been looking for Sumex Stainless steel wiper blades (chrome). Seen lots of those in british web stores (Ebay, Amazon). Since lots of those are sold by UK stores i wonder if they fit left hand drive vehicles? Since the wiper blades goes reversely. Anyway i used to have Ashuki spoiler wiper blades in my old -88 CRX and they looked pretty nice. Blended in nicely. Not too showy but okay addition in terms of style and practicality. I loved the design. Simple and good looking like the old Hondas from late 80's. Decided to bring this issue up just because im curious if anyone in general pays any attention to such details. Or is too ricy Sumex: Ashuki:

  16. I used to be a member of HondaCivicForum but stopped using the Site once my security told me it was a Site best avoided. Below is the official warning I received via email : Notice of Data Breach You may have heard reports recently about a security issue involving VerticalScope. We would like to make sure you have the facts about what happened, what information was involved, and the steps we are taking to help protect you. VerticalScope owns and operates a number of community websites. You are receiving this email because you are a registered user of the following community website(s) involved in the data breach: www.hondacivicforum.co.uk What Happened? On June 13, 2016, we became aware that February 2016 data stolen from VerticalScope was being made available online. What Information Was Involved? Community member usernames, email addresses, hashed passwords, community userIDS, community website, and the IP address the username originally registered with. What We Are Doing We have invalidated passwords of all VerticalScope user accounts. We have posted a site security notification on each site updating users on the potential risk to certain accounts, the password reset and steps we are implementing to improve security. We have implemented stronger password rules (passwords now require a minimum of 10+ characters and a mixture of upper- and lower-case letters, numbers and symbols) along with automated account password expiries to encourage more frequent password changes. We will remind our users to use good password practices (not using the same password for multiple online accounts and using unique strong passwords). We are in the process of implementing additional safeguards to detect, alert and mitigate any future brute force attempts, and have notified our third party vendors that interact with our various forum API's of the February breach to allow their own security teams to investigate. We are continuing our investigation and will be collecting information to provide to the appropriate law enforcement authorities. VerticalScope is taking steps to strengthen account security. We were already using encrypted passwords and salted hashes to store passwords, and our new password controls are intended to further strengthen user security. We are taking steps to investigate and test new encryption and security technologies to further protect our users. What You Can Do To keep your account as safe as possible, we recommend that you regularly change your VerticalScope community password, and that you use a unique password for each of your online accounts. Using the same password for multiple online accounts significantly increases your chances of being compromised. Even though the passwords stolen in February were hashed, we recommend that if you were using (or are currently using) your VerticalScope community password across multiple online accounts, that you change your password for such other online accounts. We encourage you to regularly review your accounts and report any suspicious or unrecognized activity immediately. For More Information If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Community Management team by email at cmsupport@verticalscope.com or on the website that you frequent. A support thread has been created on each website, and our support teams are on there to help you through the process and answer any questions you may have. A Notice of Data Breach is also available on community websites involved in the data breach.

    Admin Required...!

Hello... I need an admin / moderator to message me if possible, I need a little help. Jack.
  18. Ok, so we're 10 days away from the vote on whether we stay in the EU or leave. I'm not prying but I'm more interested in (what is quite a broad selection of people, locations and jobs) which way your gonna vote.
  19. My boy presses down on his toy cars so much he gives them all crazy camber.
  20. Today is the saddest day ever for me. Our Civic5 moderator and my bestest friend in the world Jim passed away today after a brave fight with cancer. Jim has been my best friend for the last 40 years, and the most genuine, honest and funny guy you could ever meet. He was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago, but kept it away from here as he didn't want a fuss. Lots of you members met him at various Civic5 meets, and those of you who got to know him will know how much he enjoyed the meets and how funny he was. Civic5 was lucky to have him as a member and moderator, and I have been lucky to have him as a true best friend for all those years. I was with him today when he passed away, holding his hand. I can't even describe how I feel at the moment, I'm just totally devastated. He was surrounded by family and friends when he passed, which is what he would have wanted. My thoughts right now are with his wife Joanne as they had been together since they were 15 years old, and I can't imagine what she's going through right now. And with his kids David, Kelly and Paul (who has also been at our meets). The loss they have is immense, and my heart goes out to them. We're doing all we can to support them at this heartbreaking time. I know my life will never be the same again, a huge part of me has gone. It's been hard seeing this illness take hold of him as I'd watched the same thing with my late wife Dawn. Gayle was with me at the hospital, and know I wouldn't have got through that without her. She's also really upset as she'd got to know Jim really well and loved him to bits, just like I do. It's going to be a really hard thing toi come to terms with. Due to this, I'm going to be away from civic5 for a while as I need time to get my head together and to help Jims family. I'll call Dave and Sarah (My fellow Admins) tomorrow and will hand the civic5 helm over to them for the time being if that's ok with them. RIP Jim, the world lost it's sunshine today but the sky has gained a bright star. UPDATE: FUNERAL DETAILS. For anyone wishing to attend, the funeral is being held on Tuesday 21st June, 3PM at Seafield Crematorium Edinburgh. There is a tea being held in Loanhead after the funeral service (details of venue to be confirmed)

  24. Well, my IT course at college is nearing the end. Been nothing but exams this past few weeks which has been stressful to say the least! Had my final English (now known for some reason as communication) exam on Friday. Had to do a PowerPoint presentation for it. Now I hate public speaking as I'm pretty crappie at it , and had to choose something to do a talk on. After loads of ideas finally decided to talk about something that I know inside out...... our very own Civic5 ! Did the club history, meets and shows, activities etc and the forum in general. Also spoke about my team that help run this place and also the family feeling that we have in the club. Got loads of questions asked at the end of the talk too, folk seemed genuinely interested! So... the result? Passed with flying colours! Really thought this would be the one thing up fail on but flew through it! So thank you civic5.com, all you members and team who make this suchange a great place to be!
  25. I had intended putting my MB4 in the show, but as I had to work yesterday and today mornings I did not think that I could get it as clean as would have liked, so I just went along after work this morning as it's only a couple of miles down the A34. The only other Honda in the first photo Third photo was the same as my first car at 17 ! Austin A35 Forth photo is an Age Class Winner - Renault Alpine and to finish, a Talbot Sunbeam Lotus
