  2. Hi guys. We've just added a new feature to the forum, Popular Contributors. You should see a box at the bottom of the home page (depending on the device you are using) which shows our most popular contributors. You can change it from week to month and year. If you click on the "see more" this will give a full list of contributors. Don't see your name on it? Get posting! We love to hear from you, even if it's just a small update on your cars projet thread or posting a pic of your car. Have look through the different sections of the forum and see if there's maybe a question been asked that you can help with. Most of all, enjoy the forum. It's your club and site!
  3. I bought a p73 ecu for my mb6 and the harness so it can go in. But is this really the best thing to use iv upgraded the cams to skunk 2 stage 1 cams exhaust manifold and inlet soon getting the s80 4.4 fd.Do i need to tune the car in order for everything to work properly or will this p73 ecu do the job.
  4. This appeared on ebay recently. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394417810525 It has a W prefix plate, but according to the MOT check site was registered 26th January 2001. The listing doesn't mention it being a personal plate. As far as I can tell, it should be on an X prefix plate if it was first registered on that date. https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/results?registration=w215xae
  5. Was reading my Classic Car Weekly and one of the readers had put their car forward for the "value my car" section where they get an idea what their car is worth according to the experts. There was a 98 Rover sterling with around 60K on the clock and most of its history. They recon the value is around 3.5 to 4K and advised to get an agreed value policy on it. Same year (almost) as DD and know quite a few of our Civic M's are either 1999 or older so got me wondering if anyone here has ventured into the agreed value route yet with their Civic. I'm thinking of asking them for a value on DD just out of curiosity, as know the tossers at WeBuyAnyCar dot con (where most insurance companies base their values on now) value her at around £250! Which would maybe buy the alloys and bugger all else! Just with them getting pretty rare now, thinking surely the values (that they are actually worth) have gone up now? Don't want to get caught out if the worst happens so deffo thinking about the agreed value policy. Anyone got one on theirs and if so what value did you get agreed?

Just been reading this https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/technology/near-zero-emission-rotary-engine-could-extend-life-ices Sounds amazing - be good to see them start being used.
  9. I was watching the boy play gran turismo 7 a while ago, and took this snap of the ek9 interior so I could Google lens it. Seems that there is a double din option there. Would have been mint for the M to have had that as an option. Would also be cool to be able to mate the two together somehow (with lots of filler and probably flock or alcantara or something to hide the joins)
  10. So a few months back, my brother in law had a problem in his civic with an r18 engine where one of the injectors failed. My mate who works on our cars and used to work in the workshop at Honda is still in touch with guys he used to work with said they'd started seeing loads of injectors going, and thought it was because of e10. Fast forward to yesterday, and Karen's accord started sounding rough (she said it sounded like a scooby) and had an engine warning light on. Turns out it was a misfire on one of the cylinders.. Everything else checked out okay, so have ordered a new injector for it - my mate said when he was speaking to the parts guy at the dealer, apparently they'd ordered 18 injectors in a single week, which is totally unheard of. Needless to say, Karen's also now not touching e10 anymore. Normally bullet proof k24 felled by some rubbish fuel (or at least so it seems). Nuts when you think my b18 has been rocking on for over 20 years and well over 200k and never had an issue with an injector. Don't even remember anyone on here having issues.
  11. Interesting if this became a mainstream thing... Carbon neutral fuel with a power boost for a minimal cost. (assumes using hydrogen produced using renewable energy though). https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/technology/under-skin-carbon-neutral-fuel-also-cleans-air
  12. Good day, i am interested in bushing numbers for the rear anti roll bar on my MB3. I would like to get the real OEM article numbers, thank you
  13. Was browsing the web and stumbled across this site. Know our Civic Aerodecks are getting harder to find for sale in the UK, but in other parts of Europe it seems they are still plenty for sale (and the prices are surprising considering the mileages!) 14. Merry xmas and a happy newyear for when it comes

    JTCC Accord

Hi all, Not sure if anyones seen this - Saw it on a Speedhunters story and thought it looked awesome. Apparently this was built back in May so people may have seen it already! Some more photos: https://www.topgear.com/car-news/modified/honda-bringing-wicked-type-r-engined-accord-estate-sema http://www.speedhunters.com/2021/11/a-first-walk-through-sema-2021/#_presentation-536683 Cheers, Dan
  18. We decided early on that when the mx5 went, we wanted another convertible, something fun and with character to replace her. After looking at BMW's (not really my taste) then Audis (could fall asleep looking at those) we harked back to when we had Carly, our 2nd gen Cooper. Loved that wee car! So the hunt was on for a 1st gen as I prefer the interior/exterior of them and also think the engines are better than the gen2.After travelling down to Durham to see a Cooper (that was a One!) with approx 57K on the clock (more like 157K the state it was in and the way it drove), we finally found "the one" (only it's not a one! lol) So that 1st one in Durham was an absolute shed, with a boot full of water, every panel marked, wrong interior and "Cooper S" badges all over its rear. It drove like a pile of spanners, brakes rattling/rumbling/knocking, suspension knocks and generally felt horrible. It was also only 90bhp due to being the One model. So that was abandoned and we were going to continue hunting for Coopers....then though stuff it, if we're gonna get one, might as well do it right! So the hunt was on for a cooper S!Called about 3, which all turned out to be apparently damaged/repaired but not logged and all had no history. then Gayle found one up in Aberdeen. It was one I'd initially dismissed as somebody had sprayed the dash inserts red and that looked tacky to me. Gayle then suggested "you're good at vinyl wrapping, could you not wrap them"? What a bloody good idea! So we went up to see it .........it has been sitting for a while as the chap bought it for his wife but she decided the convertible wasn't for her so he bought her Cooper S gen 2 hatchback. Even though its been sitting about (only done 200 miles since its MOT in April) he'd had the advisories from the mot fixed and she has all her service history etc. She's on a 06 plate with only 72K on the clock, lowest miles one we'd seen in our price range. First Cooper S I've driven and she drives spot on. No knocks from suspension or anything, engine runs sweet! We bought her for 200 quid less than asking price, so well chuffed. Pulled away from the guys house, half a mile down road engine management light came on!! Swear to god you couldn't make it up! We had her on a very long test drive, drove spot on! Funny thing is, even though we had a 3 and a half hour drive ahead of us, she drove it all faultlessly (apart from the wee engine light being on) Read the owners book and looks like it might be something to do with emissions? Thinking egr valve or poss lamba? Not sure but going to get her on the diagnostics to see. The other EML light goes off no probs so bit of a strange one. Anyways, she's not our daily driver so plenty time to fix, as she's only our weekend/good weather car.Sooo.......here she is, Dave and Gayle's 1st gen MCS R52 (also now known as "Poppy" lol) (these are just the photos from the ad) Well happy with her, hope you like!

  21. Hi guys. Just a quick post to let you all know we have updated/upgraded the forum to to very latest version of IPB forum software. Unfortunately our current forum themes were not compatible with the new version, so we have put in place a basic one based on our Civic forum colours (red, grey and black). We'll be adding to it/changing things in time to be more like the previous themes look so bear with us. The upgrade had a lot of security patches and upgrades so again, keeping the forum nice and safe for all our members. The upgrade seems to have gone through problem free so fingers crossed. If however you do find any faults/things not working please let myself or one of the team know, or reply to this post. Stay safe, Dave and the Team
  22. So, weather was fair today so we decided to go for a run in Mindy our wee MX5. Went our usual run towards Innerlethen and the Yarrow valley, and out over the moors. At the end of the road there's this wee pub/hotel called the Gordon Arms Hotel in the middle of nowhere, so seeing as it was lunchtime anyways and we'd always said we'd love to try it out, we popped in for lunch. Had there Gordon arms burger, which was amazing!! Then we left the pub and normally would turn left back towards Yarrow/Selkirk/Galashiels, but decided to turn right and see where it took us. 5 mins from the Gordon arms, we turned right.............any of our long standing Civic5 Members recognise where this is? No? Ok......what about now? Getting warmer........ok, how about now Yup! St Marys Loch!! One of the best ever Civic5 meet venues! Thats the big carpark we normally take over (see pics below!) Happy times those! Can't believe we ended up at St Marys loch! We came in for the side the meet usually exits, so did the run backwards! When we first drove along the road (before we found the layby), I said to Gayle I'm sure I recognize this road! Then said, hang on! If theres a layby on the left round this corner, its the St Marys loch road! Sure enough, there it was. We decided to do the run backwards then cut off and head for home instead of heading to Dalkeith. Ended up in rain (yes, hood stayed down!) and then brightened up before eventually hitting torrential rain (too right, hood went up quick as hell! lmao ) So surprised to find that the run is litterally 25 mins from our front door! Used to take us ages to get there from the old house! We love where we live now!!!! Tis awesome! 23. Went into the office today for the first time since last March, and in the way in, found myself in traffic next to a parked FK8, and it dawned on me that they're very similar size wise to a Civic M. Just been checking out of interest, and these are the dimensions for the wheel track and wheel base. FK8 : Front/rear track 1,600/1,593mm Wheelbase 2,700 mm Mc2: Front/rear track 1,465/1,470mm Wheelbase 2,620 mm Now that would be a cool (and expensive) swap...with some flared arches of course.
  24. Spotted around 5pm on the A7 heading towards Galashiels. Dark green Honda Civic MB, looked lowered, alloys, nice subtle exhaust, really clean looking! Anyone from here
  25. Hi guys. We have just purchased the 6 month renewal license for the forum software/platform and installed the latest update and patches. Everything installed successfully so should run as normal. If you do see any errors, please let us know. Civic5 Team
