Hi guys. Ok, quite a few have asked when are we going to have the memorial meet/run again, so looking at what members have posted dtaes wise, we're going to have this on the following date: SUNDAY 20th AUGUST 2017 (Time tbc) We've changed it slightly (was Dawns memorial meet previously) but as we lost long time member (and my best friend) Jim last year to cancer thought it would be fitting to have the run in memory of them both. Jim was at every St Marys loch meet, and loved it as much as Dawn did. Will be strange for me with him not being there, but know they'll both be looking down on us all having fun. If it's your first time on the run, you're in for a treat. Starting in the town of Dalkeith, we will be going on some amazing roads (check previous videos) and will be having a few photoshoots along the way. As always, we'll finish up with a stop in one of the beautiful Scottish borders towns for food and refreshments and a good old bit of banter. And I promise I won't get a puncture this time! lmao please click on attending etc if your coming along. link to main post >>>
  2. Anyone adjust their spark plug gap from the standard 1.1mm? If so, why? Been looking into this online but seem to find conflicting answers. I'm interested for 2 reasons: lower emissions to pass mot and/or better full throttle performance on the track.
  3. Last year i failed the emissions test part of MOT. Co% was high, sorted that out by changing the oxygen sensor. Also HC was way too high but after replacing a burnt distributor rotor and cap it was back to normal. Last friday for this years MOT i failed the emissions test again, with the exactly same results. I haven't checked anything yet but i'm assuming the same parts are in need of replacing again. Any idea what might be destroying them?
  4. am I right in thinking my aerodeck should on come with a fob for the central locking? or do these not have it? I always thought they did have remote locking but I could be wrong. Dan
  5. Hey everyone! I used to be on here a few years ago and had an mb2 and 2 mb6s, and ive had this deck for around 2 years now, had 44000 miles when i got it and its just hit 60000 now, sitting on kw coilovers and dc2 wheels Nice to come back on and see all the M's
  6. I'm aiming for 200bhp. I've got the exhaust side sorted out, now it's time to focus on the intake. I'd like opinions on 3 things: 1. Intake kit. The most popular choices here seem to be an ITR box with K&N filter, whale or cold air intake. Any thoughts? What about heat shields, anyone built one? I'm currently running a brandless aftermarket short ram without any shielding, probably not the best option. 2. Throttle body. Going for a bigger manifold obviously needs a bigger tb. Been thinking about ITR or Skunk2. 3. Intake manifold. Once again ITR and Skunk2 are the ones i've been considering Also heard good stuff about Edelbrock Performer X. So what do you think? After these upgrades the next logical steps will be a fuel pressure regulator and Hondata. I know i won't make the most out of these, let alone get 200bhp, without changing cams but that will be a bit later.
  7. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201703253680189?atmobcid=soc3 67k... Doesn't look like it's had any modding.. Wants £1,150 for it. Nothing to do with me, but looks like a good deal
  8. Joined this forum absolutely ages ago and just realised I still haven't uploaded any photos of my car! More to follow when I take some better ones
  9. Found this on eBay, 34 thousand miles on it! Short MOT and needs a bit of love but wouldn't take much to make that a stunning deck. Hope someone here buys it! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Civic-VTI-MC2-Aerodeck-B18C4-/162382525289?hash=item25cec0b369:g:g1oAAOSwTglYlL1l
  10. I need a new lambda sensor, but knowing how 'particular' our cars are, what make of sensor would you recommend, any I should avoid?
  11. Hi all. Been having a look on the net and here but no luck. Below are some pics of rust under the chassis of my aerodeck. Looks like its where the inner wing panel joins the floor. There's the factory seam sealer which has started coming away as well. Quite a lot of flaking metal which to me doesn't seem good... I'm hoping it can be cut out and plated without top much hassle. I did wonder about cutting the same section out of a good body and having that welded in place... pics below are the drivers side, passenger is similar. Any suggestions? Strange thing is its not been noted on previous mot tests.
  12. 13. Hello there guys and girls, my name Is Mark Gompertz and I am sort of new to the Honda scene. I've just found this forum so thought I'd introduce myself and make a thread to upload progress pictures up! So to start off.. I picked up this little big beauty from a car auction site (copart) for a fair price! Intentionally bought it to take its running gear out and put in my old micra! () But as soon as I sat in and started playing with its little gadgets like the air con, light dimmer switch, electric Windows and electric sunroof, half leather interior, seeing how much boot space there was! And then I drove it.. It was such a smooth, responsive car that handled amazingly with that LSD differential, and then you put your foot down and stuff happens! The b18c4 engine ran like it had just left the factory even being on 138,000 miles. I fell in love with it that day. (The light dimmer switch was what won me over...) The previous owner had put on a private plate and left it still assigned to the car V37 NAM which looks a bit like Vietnam which is where the the name has came from! I've had a few people mention it to me in the street like "hey it says Vietnam haha!" It's comical and brightens my day ! Lol Back to the present! 7 months and 10,000 miles have passed by and I have fiddled with a few things modification wise.. I've put bucket seats and a harness in (ran out of gas to weld brackets for the passenger harness) I've ghetto lowered it, but will buy some coilovers when I get the funds! some mega wide 16" junk dregs on with a little amount of stretch on the back, I've put rear camber bolts in to make the rear wheels legal, running something like 4-5 deg of camber ive put on vtis front and rear bumpers and side skirts as my standard bumpers were a bit battered and fogs were bus and they had the lips still on ive stripped out the interior from the back seats to the boot ive cut out slots in the bumper do reduce all that drag added a HONDA sunstrip which is mega race car HID's team heko wind deflectors red cam cover purply pink led sidelights bumper ties rear tie bar and tow hook engine wise I've put a skunk2 pro inlet manifold on, s2000 air filter, Magnacore HT leads, new OEM Honda stem seals and other various stem seals when I put a new head gasket on i got a hole of a ram horn exhaust manifold from a friend of mine that was on his b18 CR-X! my initial plan was to make a full front to back system, but.. I'm not a very subtle type of person so as you can see from the pictures I went for a bumper exit! 4-1 to a stainless 9 degree 3" bend and a 3" straight pipe to the bumper, it sounds pretty mega up the revs and pulled a lot better than when I had the standard system onł Took her to Japshow 2016 on the Micra Sports Club stand Monster truck mode enabled! At my local track on Anglesey, Trac Mon. And then I finally got round to lowering it! Also put in HID's in and took the roof bars off Sunstrip and sticker from when I went on Anglesey track! Red cam cover, s2000 filter and skunk 2 pro inlet manifold, bit of a mess but it looks a lot more tidy now I got rid of the unnessasary hoses and the IAB canister and cabon canister i picked up this exhaust manifold from a friend, had a crack in port no.4 that needed welding up which I got my dad to do as he is amazing at fiddly welding jobs and always manages to make it look neat What the system looks like in full here it is on the car! Pretty much all visable when you take the bumper off which is easy with the bumper ties As you'd expect it is quite loud.. I will be putting a silencer in the middle of the pipe from just after the bend to just before the inside of the bumper soon but it's not my main priority at the moment it pops when you tickle the throttle on overdrive at 2k revs which is fun, and sounds like a racing bike at around 6-8k Ive ordered some exhaust Spring hooks so that the collectors are tight together as I have a slight blow coming from the join, and will put some exhaust paste around to seal In the past couple days I have spaced up the bonnet 20mm and put in purpely pink led sidelights which are pretty And to bring this massive introduction of myself and Vietnam to a close (until I post up here next, the most recent mod I have done is swap over the faces from a set of integra clocks I acquired off eBay for a bargain price, and stuck them to my OEM dials, and pt in the yellow needles, still need to do the temp and fuel gauges and change the colour of the illumination lights but once it's all done it'll be great! I hope you enjoy my pretty much DIY/ghetto build, I'll be uploading pictures and some videos from now on, some of you may already know me and I already know a couple but it's nice to meet you all and fingers crossed I meet you guys at some meets /shows! Peace! -Mark
  14. Hello, here is my "project topic" Last summer i bought my Aerodeck in Germany. Since summer i did a few modifications to the car. 16. Hi guys, I change my stock interior for a vti interior. But the back seat doesn't fit on the bow of my car?
  17. Was just looking on ignition car parts site for new dizzy cap and rotor, and noticed that they do abs sensors. They didn't pick up my reg on the search, and the mc2 isn't listed in any of the compatibility charts, but I did a search on the honda part number for a rear sensor and it took me to this page http://www.ignitioncarparts.co.uk/PartDetails.aspx?s_pc=SMP-60094&s_vid= Like i say, a couple of ms are listed (diesels) but not others, so be cautious and check before buying, but £73 for a new sensor is the best price I've seen... And I've done some looking over the years.
  18. Stumbled across this today http://www.rac.co.uk/drive/car-reviews/honda/civic/207658/
  19. Hello All, Recently I replaced the ABS Sensor with a used working one as the seller said. However the light remained on. So I took it to the Dealers to diagnose it and they go they cannot get their diagnostic tools to communicate with the ABS Unit. They tested their tools on another civic MB4 and it worked which also had the abs light on. Any suggestions as to what it could be? They said replaced whole unit, and I simply said it will write the car off. Many Thanks
  20. Hi, one strange problem... My MC2 fuel consumption is of about 11-12 km/l (something less than 34 mpg), for an average range of about 430-450 km or 270-300 miles. This means that, at each refuel, I put about 40 l into the tank...and also in the most desperate cases when I thought to be really out of fuel, with the gauge pointer less than horizontal, I never succeeded to put in more than 41-42 lt (11 gallons)... Is this normal or my fuel gauge has some problem? The car datasheet claims for a "huge" 55 lt fuel tank, but I really can't see where this volume would be...
  21. Morning all, Long time lurker here looking for some advice. I was driving to work this morning and noticed the gears were becoming increasingly difficult to select. What's the average cost of replacing a clutch? Car is a Vti s aerodeck. Thanks for any advice Cheers Dave
  22. I was wondering if this kit would fit our models. I think the bushings in the control arm will, but the one that connects to the subframe is a litte bit diffirent. http://www.all4honda.com/en/webshop/72-integra-1995-2000/93-suspension/932-pu-rubbers/hardrace-control-arm-bushings-front-lower-civic-del-sol-integra-details.html And I was looking for winter wheels and saw a set of a honda accord. These are 15" 4x114 and et50. But I don't know if there's gonna be enough clearance for the 282 brakes in the front.
