  1. Hi ladies and gentlemen, I’m new to the forum. However I’ve owned a Honda since the day I passed my test, albeit a daily or a track car. I recently purchased an mb6 from a lady from the village I grew up in. The main reason for the post is to see if anyone knows how many white mb6’s were sold/are still about. Everyone I’ve spoken to has said they’ve never seen one in white
  2. Does anybody know if you can fit the mg zs 180 rear arb to civic mc1 (non VTI aerodeck)? i woud have thoughtso, but id noticed that they dont come with the rear subframe brace or front strut brace, and the mounting points arent there to even fit one?
  3. Rough around the edges but a replacement for my old 5 door 1.4i s. Swapped in a d15b after my girlfriend blew the d15z6 up. Rebuilt most of the suspension and welded up the sills over lockdown last year. Great workhorse of a car
  4. Hi everyone, I'm quite new here and I've just picked up my first ever 1997 Honda Civic today. I'm looking for some exhaust reccomendations because I'm not sure what fits and what doesn't. I'm not looking for anything crazy just something that makes the car sound a bit more fruity and looks good when sitting under the rear bumper arch. So far though the car runs and drives lovely absolutely chuffed with it. Cheers

    Still too soft

I have an aerodeck vti and when I bought it, I decided instantly it was too soft and handled like a barge. So I managed to find an mg zs 180 rear arb and ordered a set on eibach springs. Once it was all fitted the car does seem alot better, but it's still really soft. I don't think the dampers have had it, I just think there too soft. After reading, I keep seeing about the zs180 shocks, but it says they'll lower the car another 15mm (which is don't want it any lower, just firmer). Butni keep seeing people say get the zs120. So I'm confused and can't find a definite answer. So keeping my current eibach springs, which would be better, Zs180 or zs120 dampers? Thanks.
  6. Feels like it is going to be itr cam time soon, and thinking about gaskets. I think I know the answer to this, but worth asking the question.... Stick with oem honda gaskets, or are after market ones any good? Honda head gasket kit from tegiwa is £215 https://www.tegiwaimports.com/genuine-honda-upper-head-gasket-kit-b-series-b18c4.html Full rebuild kit from Japserviceparts is £108, but not honda parts. https://japserviceparts.co.uk/product/honda-civic-vti-b18c4-full-engine-rebuild-gasket-kit/
  7. Went into the office today for the first time since last March, and in the way in, found myself in traffic next to a parked FK8, and it dawned on me that they're very similar size wise to a Civic M. Just been checking out of interest, and these are the dimensions for the wheel track and wheel base. FK8 : Front/rear track 1,600/1,593mm Wheelbase 2,700 mm Mc2: Front/rear track 1,465/1,470mm Wheelbase 2,620 mm Now that would be a cool (and expensive) swap...with some flared arches of course.
  8. Started with a little experiments a few months ago, just something to keep me busy in between jobs etc. Started out with an extra stock lid that goes on top of the trunk. Added a piece of plastic to lengthen it, melted it to shape and filled it with expanding foam This was still super experimental, started to cut the foam to shape but to start over since I wasnt satisfied with the basic shape. Also the third brake light position wasnt much to my liking. So back to the drawing board! Felt it was too short to, so I extended it using a Citroen C3 rear wing thingy. This was long enough, so I was off to shaping and smoothing filled everything up, fill, sand, repeat. sprayed some primer on it, more sanding. Tried to use lines to get it as closely symmetrical as I could. Now I needed to fill in the underside too, I've kept the third brake light in its original location. Used foam and glassfibre to create a strong base. Again, loads of sanding and filling to get everything nice and smooth. Almost there! Have to figure out a way to shape the surrounding filler to fit the third brakelight nicely.
  9. Hi everybody. My name is Patxi and I've been driving hondas since I got my driver license back in 2007. I started with a peugeot 205, but after that car I've had various civics. My very first one was a ´99 Civic EK daily driven when I was student. I got it for 8 years and ended up respraying and B-swaping. In between I had a EG5 (no pics) only for some weeks, it was really rusted so I break it and sold parts. At this point, I bought the MB3 I will show on this thread. The EK was really intense driving but wanted something different, fast and more confortable, so I got chance to purchase a '16 Civic Type R and ended up selling EK. I owned it for two years, drove both summers to the Nurburgring and sold it to buy a house. I had the chance to own a '10 K24/20 FN2, an awesome car, but after the FK2 I was a bit upset... so I sold it after only 4 months and ended up with a barn find '99 EK1 really cheap I have restored after 4 years been used only in gravel paths(I will open a thread for this one). After this long introduction of my past cars, its time to talk about my daily car for the last 4 years. I bought this piece of s**t for 800€ in June 2017 with blown head gasket. 3 days later it was runing strong and since that day the only issue I had was a blown clutch disk (and another embarrasing moment, when I sent the car to the shop because the crash buttom jumped and didnt knew why fuel pump wasnt working). The day I bought it in Barcelona to first owner, 180.000 Km (100.000 miles aprox) It's an '98 MB3 D15Z8 evtec 114hp. I made a little maintenance when bought it, because car hadn't any history of what was done: All filters, brake fluid, pads and disks... The very first "mod" I added was the "Igor" sticker. This friend died in a car crash years ago, he had an VTi MB6 and he introduced me to the honda world. The rest of mods I installed in a short time were VTi wing, lip, steering wheel and seats. Also, for a time EK4 wheels. All 4 wheel arches had a bit of rust, and 2 years ago on Valentines day a tourist crashed to my car. Using the insuance money instead of respraying the bumper I repaired rear arches and replace the fenders. The bumper came to his form with just heat. I friend gave me a couple of headlights he had from his previous car and I decided to made a retrofit. I installed this headlights, but sold them a year later because they didnt pass the inspection in my county and I was a bit lazy to install them again. I painted the OEM ones with black masks and polish them January 2020, a really cold night, dark Ice... and this happend. Luckily I only broke a side skirt towing the car, I fixed it with some zip ties. Some weeks ago I painted with liquid vynil the wippers and the grill And last week I took everything out of the car because I had some water filtrations. Sealed them, they were in the front pilar and in the trunk. After that no more mist on wet days. I cleaned everything outside the car. Also, I glued insulating in the roof and rear inside arches. It was cheap and now in highways car is really silent. The roof carpet was detached, so I glued a new one and installed an extra roof light I sprayed the door molding in black, I'm planing to paint in silver the side skirts, side mirrors and handles in near future and fbought some cheap coilovers to test them, I need to replace the rear arms bushings, They're on the way. I installed an air intake with a scoop and sealed the filter to take fresh air from outside and less warm air from the engine bay. Not sure if this will be effective, but just in case... And some weeks ago, I saw this on a google search and decide to do the same. You can see Im not very good sanding, so it apreciates the union of the two pieces, but its all working I installed the coils, Now I need some alloys. Hope to find something 15x6.5 et35 or near to fill the wheel arch. A pic with the Cañonero of my dad, looks even lower. I would like to fit the EK4 jordan 15" alloys like in this chop but are hard to find in Spain. Also, changed the H logo of the grill with one from a '03 EP2 civic, looks better than previous one I installed (forgive the mosquito season) ...and this is from yesterday. Check engine light switched on. I took code 54 (CKF Crankshaft Fluctuation Sensor)... looked the sensor wiring and surprise, it was out of his place touching alternator velt. After relocating in his place and test drive, no more check engine light. Pic isnt really good but you can see it. And this is all for now after 4 years and 100.000 Km with the car.
  10. Hey all, A question I'm not just 100% sure on and maybe somebody can help. I got my hands on a set of pistons and rods for the vti deck. Now on closer inspection it appears I have got type r rods and pistons. So the question is, can I put these straight into the standard c4? Mixed answers online. Some saying cams and a map are needed. Or would I be able just to put them straight in with no real.dramas? Many thanks all.
  11. Spotted around 5pm on the A7 heading towards Galashiels. Dark green Honda Civic MB, looked lowered, alloys, nice subtle exhaust, really clean looking! Anyone from here
  12. So i have an MB6 civic and have recently bought a set of mb6 braking hardware. Now this brings me to an issue, i would like to keep the 4*100 lug size but the mb6 wheel hubs are too large. Can i just fit the wheelhubs from an MB with the 1.6 Litre engine? As they also had rear disks but have the 4*100 lug size. Or do i just have to get new rims?
  13. Hi fellas i want to present my Honda Civic. Things i have done to it: Changed gear oil, gasoline filter and other consumers lol. Had fitted a Vti front spoiler, painted the side skirts colour coded, painted the índice of the headlights black, the grill black and the symbol is wraped in carbon fiber, and i have some more projects in the making. cheers
  14. Hi guys. This is how my car looks (MB6 B18C4) with normal Kyb shocks and Eibach Pro Kit springs. It is almost ok, but front is too low for me. (even i am using special B18C4 Eibach springs) I want to raise the front a little bit (1 finger lets say)..i should use MG ZS180 VS shocks and MG ZS120 springs?
  15. Hi, iam glad this forum still exists... if you need to upgrade your headlamps... I wanted to show you what i did... basically ebay retrofit kit. So ya, it fits nicely, there is how it looks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Auxbeam-H1-LED-Headlight-Hi-Lo-Driving-Bulb-70W-7000LM-6000K-Decoder-Replace-Kit/153614622461?hash=item23c4251efd:g:44gAAOSwvNhdS8jZ https://www.ebay.com/itm/HID-Bi-xenon-Projector-Lens-LED-Square-Angel-Eyes-For-H1-H4-H7-Car-Motorcycle/372702246099?hash=item56c6c8f4d3:m:mBnGfFGoBxmiVNW5LRyRKng I hope i saved you some thinking :) I do not have a review, i just installed it and it shines ok, but i need to adjust it properly. But its way better than old style original lights for sure! The rings are DRL (controled by first position on lights swithc - parking light) and those switch off when you go for regular lights.
  16. Greetings, first forum post so forgive me if I've done something wrong. Now to the question. Do rover 400/MG ZS lamps fit the MB's? see a lot of those on ebay. If not, what should I be looking for in terms of aftermarket fogs? Cheers.
  17. Could anyone inform me with what kind of coilovers/springs fit on the mb4?
  18. Hi there, me again! I've come to sip from the fountain of knowledge as usual. So as you, I was thinking about ways to make my car better, and since my MB2 has been K-Swapped I was thinking it maybe a good idea to do more improvements to the braking. So I already got EBC discs and yellowstuff pads on the front and braided lines on both the front and rear, but now I'm thinking it maybe a good idea to do a disc conversion for the rear and then get EBC discs and yellowstuff pads for those too. I had a look around the forum about this sort of thing and I looked at the list of interchangeable parts, but from my understanding going from drums to discs requires a full hub conversion. So if anyone is experienced in this field I would like to find out what all of my options are; so from which cars can I swap rear discs into mine from? I am aware that MB's that have discs on both front and rear ususally come in the configuration of 262/260 front/rear or 262/239. I would assume 260mm discs are superior to 239mm, but I am staying away from rear discs from the MB6 and MC2 VTI's because I want to keep a 4x100 wheel pattern (unless it's easy to change). Another thing is that my MB2 does not have ABS, I'm not sure if this plays a part with seeing what options I have. So overall I just want to hear what others have to say; what you guys would recommend, which breaking cars I should keep a look out for, and what would give me the best stopping power without changing other things on my car such as the wheels. Cheers guys :)

    Front lights

Hey So I have owned my mb4 for over a year now and I was wondering if the Honda Accord front lights fit on the mb4. I would appreciate it if you could tell me what parts also fit on it. Thanks
  20. Hi there, So I've returned again to pick fruit from my favourite tree of wisdom. So good news, my MB2 build is nearing to the "end" of my MB2 build, of which I'll be making a lovely post about with lots of pictures once it's done. So recently I got the Hardrace front traction brace, Hardrace rear LCA's, 18mm rear anti-roll bar for 400/45/MG ZS. So I want to get new front LCA's as well and I asked the guys at Dynodaze about fitment and they told me that rear LCA's for MB follows EK (not EG) fitment but they didn't mention what would fit the front, only saying that they'd recommend getting ones off an MB6. So I just want to see if anyone has AM front LCA's then what fits MB's? Also bonus question, in case I ever decide to go for a beefier rear anti roll bar, what fitment works with the MB2? Thank you so much guys.
  21. I came across this roverdeck today and thought I'd share it on here and see what u guys think about it
