  1. Awesome car. Wanting to make it more awesome tho. Any ideas will be appreciated
  2. Hi I'm just wondering if anybody here has experience with fitting the OEM/standard Mb's spoiler onto one that originally didn't have one? Mb2/4 etc Got a spoiler with brake light wiring all complete etc and I'm wondering how to go about it or to bother at all. - Any tips for drilling screw holes in the boot lid for the spoiler? This is what's making me not want to do it to be honest. Scared I'll mess it up. Need the bolts too. - Is there anywhere for the brake light wiring to plug into on the MB2's? I've taken the boot interior out and looked and can't see where it would go to. Any tips/pictures etc would help too. Thanks!
  3. Looking for some help please people, like many others the terrible Infra Red remote locking fob has stopped working for my car. I got the remote from the ex-ex owner of my car (been in the family since new) and it was totally disconnected having not been used for years. not lighting up even with new batteries, absolutely dead and I've since lost it anyway. If the opportunity was there to buy a brand new remote/fob, how easy is it to get this coded to your car's code? I imagine it will be a Honda dealership jobby, but what is it likely to set me back? Bearing in mind I will have a brand new never used remote? Thanks! (I know an aftermarket central locking system would no doubt be cheaper but there's also all the wiring involved and paying somebody to do it!)
  4. Hi guys, hoping you can help me with the following. I'm in need of a trailing arm bush replacing and when inspecting everything the garage has advised that maybe the lower control arm bushes could do with replacing to improve suspension/noise & clunking. They're not desperate but it seems much easier to get a whole new set of LCA's however I can't find them ANYWHERE online. The Eg/Dc2 ones don't fit I'm led to believe. My second point though, I have an Mb2 and so no rear anti roll bar, so the holes for this are none existent on the LCA's, but I've seen posts on here saying all Mb's had the same LCA's(?). I've seen a slight indent where the hole would be on one side and that's all. If I wanted to fit an ARB, would I need new LCA's from an Mb6 or MGZS etc? Thanks!
  5. So went to get new rubber on the front today. First chance to get a good look underneath. So extras will be Exhaust needs new mid section. N/S cv boot is split On the plus side underside is very clean and discs and pads have plenty left in them. Handbrake tightened up too.
  6. So today, I, completely and utterly f**ked up. Did a full service, gasket change, checked for warpages etc (had blown head gasket for like 2 months but not time to do it), valve lash adjustment, brakes etc. Basically a pre-winter overhaul before I start building a D16 to drop in. I got round to torquing the bolts and noticed they were about (exactly, on measurement) 20mm longer. The bolts were longer but no-issue, I've worked in parts before and know that 1 part can cross reference 100 vehicles all with various odd differences so just ran with it. Chased threads with an old bolt and then dropped the head on dropped all the bolts in and started in sequence going up to hand tight then started torquing with the wrench. First steps 14ft-lb (according to local Honda parts dept) then 39ft-lb and final 2 stages both at 49ft-lb to ensure complete seal. I did steps 1 and 2, no issues, threads were perfect but noticed the bolts were sat at around 16-18mm above the face of the head. At this point I was looking and couldnt figure out what was going on. I got my dad outside to look and give an opinion (chartered aerospace engineer) who was a bit confused but said "is that the last step of torque?" I said no there are 2 others, he then pointed out that they might close down in the 3rd step because you know they used 4 steps for a reason. I agreed. I did the 1st bolt in the sequence and there was a ping, I froze, looked down as water started pouring out the front of the block. I did not swear, cry, shout or anything I just stood in disbelief. I removed a bolt and did a size comparison and found exactly 20mm was different and I'd hit the bottom of the block. as I continued to torque the bolt couldn't go anywhere but outwards. Damn.
  7. Hello everyone, I'm restoring an MB2 and I was wondering if the complete airco system is interchangeable with other Civic models? Mine originally had airconditioning, but the previous owner decided to remove everything.. I have a pump and condesor lying around from my EJ6 (D16Y7) but I don't have the hoses/lines anymore that need to be mounted in the engine bay. Can someone help me? Thanks
  8. Having owned this for nearly 4 months now, I thought I'd start a project thread. Sat on a friends wheels... with comical arch-gap! Stance is pretty good though, so I atleast know roughly what offset to go for when buying wheels, these were 7J ET25 Ordered a few bits recently, will be fitting these next week along with the stainless 4-2-1 manifold I was given. Plans for the future are wheels, possibly Klutch SL1's, decent coilovers at some point and a full respray. Matt
  9. I just bought an mb2 can anyway give me ideas of what to do and where to buy parts for it from
  10. Heres my mb2 1.4 sport i bought for £250 near a year ago. No mot at time but 3 tyres and service it passed no problems. Since then ive replaced window regalator fitted 15 tsw with 4 toyos cf2 tyres till i get new wheels in 2months. Have big plans for this car as ive never seen a 1.4 in this colour and it stands out in the sun. Body work dose need a bit of work but good for its age, will be sorted after i come back from holidays. Bought a d16y8 engine to turbo also, it will be worked on while body work is getting painted.

  13. we did this once before here, as part of the MG ZS group buy of heated front screens. there is one last ever (I know I said the last time would be the last), and this really will be the last time as its not worth my time and hassle and I gain nothing from this...the last ever heated screen group buy the screens WILL come with a top tint, and are dual circuit heated. They are 25£ more than the last batch 5 years ago (inflation!) at £225+vat. its a real last minute thing coz I kinda forgot about you guys, but I have to place an order Monday 8th Feb and as before £100 deposit is required, non refundable as I would be stuck with the screen and I would still have to pay the balance, but if for any reason... find someone else to buy it, whatever, we just need to fulfil the order. Its done through Ricky Evans motorsport as before, they supply cars in the BTCC. They will not stock these screens, if they would I wouldn't have to go to all this hassle for nothing, so this really is the only way to get one, there will be none left over, what I order I have to pay for and you guys pay the same cost per screen as I do, we had to pay the tooling on the first batch, believe me, its no cheap process. Call me 07941 857777 or join teh dark side - MG ZS Owners club on facebook where there is a post, or prob better still, Jason simm on facebook, its the MGZS pic with the stelio pass in the background. Sorry its last minute, but I don't want to miss you guys out.
