  1. Noticed my drivers side front brake is squealing until I apply brakes is this pads or caliper sticking any info would be great
  2. Previous to last winter the screw that holds the bracket with the small AC pulley has snapped by itself, probably due to cold/vibrations. Just wondering if it's repairable without engine removal. Regrettably I had an engine rebuild done the previous spring so I don't want to spend big money on engine removal just to replace one screw (the old one needs to be drilled out so not sure if that can be done with the engine still inside since it is on the side of the engine) Last summer was quite bad without the working AC and this summer is supposed to be even worse, so I might reconsider the repair ;o]] I've marked the pulley and the bolt on the attached pictures
  3. Well since I have been on this forum for a little while now I suppose I should show how the civic is going even though there is plenty to come! This is the way i bought her, clean unmodified (except from the back box) was perfect to start with. The car was very well looked after when i got her FSH inside was immaculate one arch needed done but that didnt bother me it was straight into the paintshop for repair with a new panel. The power of the b18 still impresses me for the age of the car! From there I hated the original 5 spoke just not my taste so I purchased a set of speedlines in need of refurb. This is them after a sandblast and powdercoat primer. Some how it wont let me put more picture in this post so i will continue below!

  5. Hi guys, some of you may remember my previous M's... http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/7C3A7163-B5D6-471B-ABC8-ABF95F3FFBE0_zpszrm3cjug.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/A641B62F-7213-4D00-9D4A-B77FEAFB4700_zpsz6eurzgs.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/2418819E-E1E6-4049-B6CF-FFA30DAD7637_zpsuv0xeepx.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/EB1F4B48-F648-49AF-9291-D97BD626B78E_zpsef4drzej.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/7FC741DF-EA2F-45D4-8D9F-87A13A531920_zps377yuul2.jpg[/IMG] swapped my aerodeck a wee while back for a facelift ek coupe. Spent a bit time tidying it up and preparing it for a b series engine swap (my old c4 from the mb6 which dropped a valve and needing rings) but when browsing Facebook one day I found a preface lift coupe with a b16 conversion and some other tasty parts for sale local, and cheap. I bought that, sold my facelift coupe and spent a bit time sorting some of the bodges on the new coupe. Then when browsing Facebook again lol I came across a nicely spec'd mb6 which was also fairly local for a good price. The guy I bought the coupe off was eager to buy it back so I said if he gave me what the mb6 was going for then we could do a deal, which he jumped at. After driving the mb6 I knew I had to have it, I felt right at home. I prefer the styling of the m civics and I feel their very underrated which makes them more appealing to me a ma brief spec on the new mb6 is... B18c4 421 manifold Decat Custom stainless catback Top fuel carbon induction kit Apexi neo controller Vtec set at 4.8k Lightened flywheel Short shifter Momo gearknob Polybushed Koni adjustables Buddyclub front camber arms M2 rear camber arms Braided brake lines Drilled and grooved discs Lightweight evo alloys Additional upper strut brace Kode dished steering wheel Hid low hi kit Mesh grille De tangoed and sprayed headlights the car has been owned by enthusiasts and feels very good to drive. There is one issue with the gearbox/or linkage. It become stiff and hard to remove/engage gears when it's warm. Iv replaced the oil but this hasn't made much difference. Next I'm going to change the short shifter and linkage to see if this helps. Apart from that it's a joy to drive. I plan on adding my own wee touches to the car and just generally tidy bits up. heres a couple pics I snapped when I bought 2 weeks ago... http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/E1C11B16-5D24-457E-A9F5-02387C2D5887_zpsqko4agqq.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/1596DC20-54E7-47ED-B2C0-F3F1084F7357_zpseliwx1ri.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/7713D1EA-23BF-4445-BFAD-525A77151969_zpsqoe0j0lk.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/998D6822-7D42-4F1C-86A2-4E0141945666_zpsgtxe5xuj.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/1EB54978-8515-4721-B625-1D1EE069CEF8_zpsptorhdfv.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/6888605E-F6D6-40D5-BE10-CD32F1141CB1_zpsihpgyudz.jpg[/IMG] http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o179/bikerboymarv/54BDEF81-5818-421A-B292-C374F2E1E09E_zpsjbej18bt.jpg[/IMG]

  13. So its been over 2 months since i brought my MB6...finally got round to putting it on the road and got a chance to inspect it at a mates garage. So far so good.....looks clean enough underneath. 135k Current mods Injen induction kit Blox intake manifold Uprated fuel rail decat, stainless steel pipe, custom back box (v loud!) Lowering spring (v low!) There's a dyno print out from the previous owner showing 198bhp! Need to do the timing belt as it was last done at 60k From what I've read...this is what I need. Timing belt with tensioner Power steering belt Alternator belt (No A/C) Rocker cover gasket Water pump At the same time looking to do a full service. Is there anything else recommended at this age/milage that I have missed out??
  14. Hi everyone it's been about a week or so since I joined Civic5 so thought it was about time that I started a build thread. The Mb's been in my family since new and has been kept standard and well pampered it's whole life but after 16 years could be doing with a few upgrades so it can keep up with its modern day counterparts. Apart from a ABS sensor, couple of saggy doorcard fabrics and some lacquer peel on the spoiler its pretty much straight onto upgrades. Once I've got my Impreza out the garage and back on the road at the end of the month the civic will be going in and getting stripped down/rebuilt. Main focus is going to be on the suspension/brakes as at the moment they can only be described as tragic! Had originally planned on a ATR spoiler and Accord sport wheels but decided I'm going with something completely different now. Anyway enough talking here's some pics....... First job is to definitely sort out the tailgate!

  16. Looking for a service kit - rather than looking for individual items need fuel filter and spark plugs mainly - but can't find a specific kit for the b18c4 ?? are the kits the same as the B16 ?? or will i need to order/find individual items that i need ? Thanx
  17. Found a great deal on a set of -40mm mb springs on the intranet tonight and I'm tempted to order them up. Problem is I plan to upgrade to mg zs 180 shocks in the future but I'm sure in the past I came across some info saying this -40mmMBspring/MGshock setup combined will end up in a total drop of 55mm??? I'll be running 15" wheels and want to keep it usable for everyday mundane family tasks so will this setup be any use? Cheers.
  18. Will they stuck out from fenders/arches? They are already rolled and pulled by previous owner. I don't wan't any camber adjustments. Bad for tires, wallet and winter conditions. Previous owner had Japan Racing JR3 wheels with et 20-22 in the back (17x9). Sure they stuck out lil bit but it was okay with stretched tires. I'm looking at these: http://www.nlmotoring.com/Avid-1-AV-12-Wheels-16x8-Gold-p/av121680ma25gd.htm 16x8 Offset [+25mm] (I would pick 15's but can't find those locally with 114 and et25 fitment). I wonder if such "deep dish" wheels fit MB6 without camber adjustments? I mean ET 25 should be manageable if those JR3's fitted, right? But does wheel design affect how much it actually comes outwards? I've seen some EK and EG Civics with those wheels and they struggle i guess. Looks good on those but MB6 have stock ET of 55 vs. other Civics 40-45. Fenders and arches are pulled out as much as they can i'd say. Does anyone here have experience on fitting similar style wheels on MB6 without camber adjustments? Does pulled fenders and mild stretched tires solve it? Another problem i fear is caliper clearance in the front... Bigger calipers than stock Civics. If it needs spacers bigger than 3mm. i think it's a "no go" then. Assuming they would fit, what tire profile would be the best? I have now stock 15's and lowered car pretty much in the same level as wheels (stanced/slammed some would possibly say ).
  19. I would be glad if a friendly soul could identify this ting that is attached to the intake manifold.
  20. Had the MB6 for 5 days and already started getting few bits from my mate (he's a Honda breaker, and looks after me lol) he had an aerodeck vti in for breaking - got panels, lights, mirrors, front bumper, b-pipe - all for £10 each then today in a job lot he got - i got myself a set of evo 6 recaros ( he gonna throw in the seats out of the aerodeck for me to make seat frames) got them for £150 Then i also got some dc2 alloys (no tyres) in white for £50 so i got alot to do now lol - gota get the coilovers fitted, make some seatframes and sort the wheels out
  21. we did this once before here, as part of the MG ZS group buy of heated front screens. there is one last ever (I know I said the last time would be the last), and this really will be the last time as its not worth my time and hassle and I gain nothing from this...the last ever heated screen group buy the screens WILL come with a top tint, and are dual circuit heated. They are 25£ more than the last batch 5 years ago (inflation!) at £225+vat. its a real last minute thing coz I kinda forgot about you guys, but I have to place an order Monday 8th Feb and as before £100 deposit is required, non refundable as I would be stuck with the screen and I would still have to pay the balance, but if for any reason... find someone else to buy it, whatever, we just need to fulfil the order. Its done through Ricky Evans motorsport as before, they supply cars in the BTCC. They will not stock these screens, if they would I wouldn't have to go to all this hassle for nothing, so this really is the only way to get one, there will be none left over, what I order I have to pay for and you guys pay the same cost per screen as I do, we had to pay the tooling on the first batch, believe me, its no cheap process. Call me 07941 857777 or join teh dark side - MG ZS Owners club on facebook where there is a post, or prob better still, Jason simm on facebook, its the MGZS pic with the stelio pass in the background. Sorry its last minute, but I don't want to miss you guys out.

    lowering MB6

I am wanting to lower my MB6 ( hatchback ) i have read a few threads about different suspension that may fit finding exact fit springs/coilovers seems pricey or very limited are there any other model civics that will fit on with little or no mods needed ?? my mate brakes older civics eg ej ek etc so he has plenty parts - just need to know what i can use on the mb Thanx Gav
