  1. Stumbled across this today http://www.rac.co.uk/drive/car-reviews/honda/civic/207658/
  2. Having gone through a series of issues with supplied parts recently I and a few friends I've worked with in the past are looking to setup a small speedshop that also caters for standard parts. I've spoken to Dave here about prospectively becoming a trader but to do that I need to get setup first.. And before I can get setup I need to do some market research! I'm in the midst of building a webstore with a metric f**ktonne of encryption and various other backups towards security. We're hoping to cater directly for the MB/MC chassis with a range of tried-tested parts, Initially, We are looking to stock things like Intake kits, Silicone hoses, dress-up parts and eventually would like to stock everything from internal components, suspension components to fiberglass panels. We're looking to also stock service kits both upgraded and standard spec parts. I've spoken to an engineering firm who're willing to do a limited run of exhaust systems for both the Aerodeck and fastback civics in both D and B series I have got a few companies on board right now with meetings and talks setup with brands such as Lucas oils, Exol oils, ADL Blueprint / Bilstien, Mahle etc. I've also been in contact with 3 of the major "shiny bits" companies like BWR, ASR and Function7, Two of the brands are quite interested in doing a modified Aerodeck option to their braces due to the 4mm closer in bolt holes, the other wasn't as excited. We're looking for some input here so if you have anything that you would like to see available off the shelf with direct support and fitment, I'll be happy to listen! Finch
  3. Need to replace my inner cv boots, does anyone know for sure the measurements for these? I looked up the OEM part number from Lings (44017SR3900) and after some googling most (but not all) results pointed my in the direction of inner diameter 22mm / 76mm. Can someone verify this please? Thanks.
  4. Edited 14.10.2014: Here's a small summary of the conversation in this topic and also http://civic5.com/fo...tec-discsagain/, http://civic5.com/fo...ended-pads-mb6/ and also experiences by Zuissi who used to race Time Attack with his MB6. Track day brakes for a daily driven MB/MC Brake pads: Proper pads are the most important thing. Opinions about different brands however are very varied, and not a single one stands out as the "ultimate" pad for MC/MB civics. - Ferodo DS2500: Recommended by many, but won't last many hard track days. - EBC Yellowstuff: mixed opinions, wear out quicker than Ferodo. - Hawk: recommended by some - Brembo: mixed opinions - Nissin: mixed opinions - Mintex: mixed opinions - Tarox, Black Diamond, Axxis: rarely mentioned but recommended by their users Brake discs: As long as they are in good condition, even stock discs will do just fine. Grooved, drilled etc. aren't really worth all the money unless you want the looks. - Mtec: recommended by many, but also bad experiences with cracked/warped discs - Black Diamond: recommended by some - EBC Ultimax: recommended by a few - Brake Depot: recommended by a few - Tarox: mixed opinions - Mintex: mixed opinions Brake fluid: Upgrade to atleast Dot 5.1. For racing fluids Motul RBF600 is recommended by many. Brake lines: HEL braided lines are recommended if you go RBF600 (higher boiling point), with street fluids stock lines should be ok. Brake stopper: Not used by many but those who have one highly recommend it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original first post: A few days ago my rear pads literally crumbled away on the track so maybe it's time to do a full upgrade. So i'm looking for a full set of performance discs and pads for a MC2 that won't crack/warp/disintegrate on the occasional track day, but not so hardcore that i won't be able to drive daily to work. Any suggestions? Reading through the whole brakes & alloys section opinions seem to be very mixed about what's good and what's not. Mtec and mintex are out of the question. I used to think that EBC would be the thing but after reading Grant's experiences about them here http://civic5.com/forum/topic/8853-recomended-pads-mb6/ i don't know anymore... Comments from track day drivers especially welcome!

  6. Hi guys, swapped my mb6 for a aerodeck a couple of weeks ago. Needed the extra boot space. The deck isn't in as good condition as the mb6 but I'm slowly working through the faults etc. First of all I replaced the two rear tyres with some new toyos, and just yesterday fitted my hks 4-1 manifold with 2.5" collector, 2.5" decat and then I made a custom 2.5" b pipe leading to an apexi back box. I'm going to band some steelies for it, get a rear anti roll bar and replace the worn bushes and underseal it. Going to be on the lookout for a car at the local scrappies in the same colour as a lot of the panels have been keyed but I'm loving being back in a deck.
  7. I've been looking around for a little bit of information but the main info I've found is related to the MB6 VTI-S.. I have a 1.4 Sport MB (MB3 / MB8 depending on who you speak too!) it has Half leathers, AC, PAS, Leather stitched wheel (did until I yanked it out for a Vertex wheel), Electric Windows (front), Electric Mirrors (adjust & Heat), carbon-look trim around knob, grills etc, Leather stitched honda gear knob. Now apart from the MB6 which has 99% the same interior I have found, what other differences across the range have what? I know theres that wood/tortoise shell looking trim option too but wondered if there was anything exclusive to the VTIS/VTI/Sport? and I was lead to believe the VTIS was the only model in Pirated black, Theres a 1.6 VTEC MB round the corner in PB, doesn't have wing or anything like the trim, has stock fabric seats, no AC yet the colour is definitely black that flips into purple as PB does.. Ideas?
  8. work i done on the first week of owning car new front caliper and painted fixing door lock put my rover 400 alloy on look better that the 13" still wheels painted grill black
  9. Sadly, the Deck doesn't get a mention : http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/190984/load-luggers-parts-haulers-esp
  10. Hi guys, my aerodeck has some skunk2 lcas from a dc2 integra. They aren't the fork type rear shocks that are usually fitted to mbs etc. Will the mgzs arb or mb6 arb still fit with these lcas? There is a tapped hole on the lcas. cheers
  11. right anyone wanting poly bushes but don't want to get raped for em. use http://www.strongflexuk.co.uk/ they usually take about a week to arrive but are good quality and cheaper than most other places! they also have a category for our cars!!
  12. Engine managment light came on last night, checked the codes first thing this morning :- 9 CID Sensor (Number 1 Cylinder position) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor (car is running fine, rev counter sitting slightly higher but sure that is down to a sticky clocks) can anyone help me out on what this could be? cheers.
  13. Need some help , I understand my aerodeck currently sits upon the mg zs suspension setup , however I want to replace but not lose the ride height , will a coilover set provide me with at least this ride height (with a firmer setup) or am I going to need to look elsewhere ? I know it sounds silly but im confused.
  14. Hi. I've swapped the standard honda suspension on my aerodeck for the mgzs set up. Now it's not great suspension a bit mushy. I'm looking at fitting lowering springs so at least it'll look good. Might stiffen it up as well. My question is which lowering springs. I can't seam to find much for the mgzs. What is there out there tried and tested. Putting honda specific lowering springs onto mg shocks doesn't make sense to me as it's a set of springs designed for a different set of dampers than the mg ones. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not going to spend a fortune on meisters etc. I'm not building a track car just something decent for daily use while I build a proper rwd track car. Cheers. Nathan
  15. I bought new Rota Spec R wheels for my deck. Love the wheels but i have a problem at the rear wheels. The center caps don`t fit because the wheel hub comes out of the wheel hole... Pic of the problem. Anyone have a solution to this problem?
  16. Hi, I was wondering how dc2 recaros fit in the interior, does it take more space then the oem seats? My oem seats are rubbing the armrest, so I want to know if they take more place then the oems?
  17. Morning all, I've been in touch with the suppliers of these fiberglass body parts to ask about some wings. They don't do them for ms, but I asked how many they would need to make it worth while. He said for a special order they'd be wanting 7-10 pairs @ £190 per pair, plus delivery. This is their ebay listing for egs... http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/231970494058 Would anyone be interested?
  18. Time again folks, lets get this one rolling! Put forward the Civic M's you think should win this months car of the month. Can even be your own civic! @dogg1210 @ammarbm @Derek89
