  1. Hi, Despite thorough research i can't seem to find a definitive answer to this: which OBD is B18C4, and do i need a conversion harness to install a obd1 P28 ecu? I've only found very mixed answers. Some say that it's obd2a, some say it's obd2b. And that it's got a obd1 loom. So i'm a bit confused here. Anyone? Or can i check this somehow in the car, i've never fiddled with ecus before.

  3. Hello, I've been following this forum for a while but never introduced myself so I think it's about time that I do this My name is Ringo, i'm from Belgium so my Englisch isn't the best but I'll try. I have my aerodeck mc2 now for almost a year. When I bought him it had 110.000 km. This is when I bought him : My first modification were wheels and h&r lowering springs. I also changed the oil to mobil1 5w40 and mounted a itr oem airbox. Changed the sparkplugs and installed a cat converter. This week I'm gonna change the brake pads to ebc black ones. I also did a big order at all4honda.nl, a 5 panel mirror, a sensor for oiltemp and oilpress, a new fuelfilter, a hamp oilfilter, an oilpan gasket, a exhaust header gasket, a few little things and the biggest thing, an invidia g200 catback from a civic coupe/sedan 92-95. Also I want to buy a utcomp board computer and install the oil sensors on it. I also bought a vti-s front and back lip wich must be painted in red. I had the chance to buy a secondhanded tegiwa toda rep header wich is almost brand new. When the new updates are installed I'll be posting some new pictures. This is a picture of me and hondaprojason when he visited the netherlands : edit november 2015 : these are the mods i've did so far: performanceitr airbox with k&n filter and cold air feedtegiwa toda rep. headerdecatsrs r60 catbackinsane shafts driveshaftsoem itr clucthact streetlight flywheelhamp oilfilterebc brakepads suspensionh&r coilover kitrota grid 17x7,5 et45black lugnutspirelli p zero nero 205-40-17mg zs 18mm swaybar rearenergy suspension front swaybar endlinks bushingsenergy suspension gear shift bushings interiortegiwa 360 degree shifter extensiontegiwa type r gear knob5-panel mirror exteriorvti-s lip kitvti-s spoilergrill and logo wrapped in matt blackfake air intakes in fog surroundingsheadlights tinted in blackwhite sidemarkersdebadged trunknew paint on vti-s kit, trunk rear bumper, mirrors, and doorhandlestegiwa rear tow hookpainted brake calipers redclimair window visors frontshort atenna engine baydarkicedesigns hoodstrutspassword jdm radiator staypassword jdm vtec solenoid covertegiwa washers tenzo-r battery tiedownskunk2 plug cover future modsutcomp trip computer (working on it)engine dress-upwindow visors rear and roofwindow tintingheadlights blackhousing diynew paint valve coverskunk2 water hosesbishimoto water reservoir
  4. Well my aerodeck will be back on the road next month and I cant stop looking into boosting it. so I'm getting to grips with everything I'm going to need for the build. This is what I've got up to now. Any advice on how to do this and on parts will be greatly appreciated b18c4 turbo build parts list racetech turbo kit: Reconditioned Twin Scroll TD05 Turbocharger Race-Tech SS Equal Length Manifold Race-Tech SS 2.5" Downpipe Race-Tech SS Braided Oil & Water Lines Race-Tech Alloy Intercooler w/Pipework & Joiners OEM MLS Gaskets (Manifold>Turbo & Turbo>Downpipe) All Fitting Hardware fueling: Grams 550cc injetors WALBRO 255 FUEL PUMP ecu: socketed p28 other parts: induction/air-filter skunk2 pro series intake manifold cheers Dan
  5. I'm aiming for 200bhp. I've got the exhaust side sorted out, now it's time to focus on the intake. I'd like opinions on 3 things: 1. Intake kit. The most popular choices here seem to be an ITR box with K&N filter, whale or cold air intake. Any thoughts? What about heat shields, anyone built one? I'm currently running a brandless aftermarket short ram without any shielding, probably not the best option. 2. Throttle body. Going for a bigger manifold obviously needs a bigger tb. Been thinking about ITR or Skunk2. 3. Intake manifold. Once again ITR and Skunk2 are the ones i've been considering Also heard good stuff about Edelbrock Performer X. So what do you think? After these upgrades the next logical steps will be a fuel pressure regulator and Hondata. I know i won't make the most out of these, let alone get 200bhp, without changing cams but that will be a bit later.
  6. As you all probably know iv bought burbleboys vti-s and very happy with it glad to be back in a Honda. Plans are to just drive it for a while as it's already sorted, save for a turbo kit next summer (possibly!) taking fly-eyes off as there just not my thing.
  7. Last year i failed the emissions test part of MOT. Co% was high, sorted that out by changing the oxygen sensor. Also HC was way too high but after replacing a burnt distributor rotor and cap it was back to normal. Last friday for this years MOT i failed the emissions test again, with the exactly same results. I haven't checked anything yet but i'm assuming the same parts are in need of replacing again. Any idea what might be destroying them?
  8. hi all, time to make a start on my project thread. Been lurking a couple of months gathering parts and doing some research, and getting bored with the stock 100,000 mile tired old mb6 so it's time to pull my finger out and start modding. Parts so far: Ebay coilovers powerflex bushings various hard parts (tie rods etc.) plastic whales p***s new ht leads and dizzy cap/rotor bosch battery 4-1 ebay manifold drilled & grooved discs with mintex pads buddy club p1 16x7j wheels with toyo t1r's kenwood head unit, kenwood 10'' sub and jbl amp misc fluids etc. I have a set of new old stock itr pistons (pr3) and a 98 type r cylinder head (p72) with valves and springs but no cams. I plan on doing a full rebuild and hi comp N/A build in the future but for now i just want to get the car lightly modded and sitting right, work out the issues. Been hit with health problems recently so i'm not going to be overseas working for a coupla months which sucks so moneys gonna be tight but i will have plenty of time. Lucky for me i have a decent sized workshop with full sized pit with overhead beam and hoist, just need to get off my a*s and get it cleared out properly, nearly there. You'll be seeing plenty of pics over the next few weeks anyway so looking forward to you guys feedback along the way. Lets do this. mb6 with it's little brother S205OBY wheel choice voltmeter sounds will upload more pics soon
  9. Hi! I bought her April 1, 2014. I just show my pictures about her, from the last almost 3 years. Bought in stock, non-care body condition. First picture from 2014 Honda meet, after few days ownership. the one on the left. Headlights already polished a bit. End of summer, 2014 That was my first headlight mod. Lowered on stock shocks & Apexi springs 2015 with new wheels. Drag Wheels DR-9 & friends Then in february, 2016, the rebuild project started. It was a bit rusty on rear arches, also under the skirts. had some scratches on the body... Donor car SAFETY FIRST!!! Lets go, get some paint! "Meanwhile at home" pictures... Parts on the way home.. This is where the rebuild begins... First wheel paint job for fun Stock :\ Almost there... end of 2016 summer season... When you have a hundred mile in the car since paint job, and a stupid woman gives full throttle and goes backward. But forget that b*tch, lets go on. almost end of this thread. Here is my beauty Badge repainted Last headlight polish before season closer honda meet. So called "Brazzers"
  10. Anyone adjust their spark plug gap from the standard 1.1mm? If so, why? Been looking into this online but seem to find conflicting answers. I'm interested for 2 reasons: lower emissions to pass mot and/or better full throttle performance on the track.
  11. Hi all im jay n this is my aerodeck vti. Its got 120k on the clock. Some service history and many battle scars and signs of abuse perfect for a project and was mine for 1k. I bought it nearly a year ago n its solid underneath no rust anywhere its just a little tatty on the paintwork usuall story the paint is flaking on the bonnet and boot (longbridge build quality lol) n lots of carpark dings n scratches. Mechanically its sound engine wise that is lol as for the gearbox its the noisiest one ive ever had as recently its started to play up long story short new one getting fitted next week along with a new clutch.
  12. Hello there guys and girls, my name Is Mark Gompertz and I am sort of new to the Honda scene. I've just found this forum so thought I'd introduce myself and make a thread to upload progress pictures up! So to start off.. I picked up this little big beauty from a car auction site (copart) for a fair price! Intentionally bought it to take its running gear out and put in my old micra! () But as soon as I sat in and started playing with its little gadgets like the air con, light dimmer switch, electric Windows and electric sunroof, half leather interior, seeing how much boot space there was! And then I drove it.. It was such a smooth, responsive car that handled amazingly with that LSD differential, and then you put your foot down and stuff happens! The b18c4 engine ran like it had just left the factory even being on 138,000 miles. I fell in love with it that day. (The light dimmer switch was what won me over...) The previous owner had put on a private plate and left it still assigned to the car V37 NAM which looks a bit like Vietnam which is where the the name has came from! I've had a few people mention it to me in the street like "hey it says Vietnam haha!" It's comical and brightens my day ! Lol Back to the present! 7 months and 10,000 miles have passed by and I have fiddled with a few things modification wise.. I've put bucket seats and a harness in (ran out of gas to weld brackets for the passenger harness) I've ghetto lowered it, but will buy some coilovers when I get the funds! some mega wide 16" junk dregs on with a little amount of stretch on the back, I've put rear camber bolts in to make the rear wheels legal, running something like 4-5 deg of camber ive put on vtis front and rear bumpers and side skirts as my standard bumpers were a bit battered and fogs were bus and they had the lips still on ive stripped out the interior from the back seats to the boot ive cut out slots in the bumper do reduce all that drag added a HONDA sunstrip which is mega race car HID's team heko wind deflectors red cam cover purply pink led sidelights bumper ties rear tie bar and tow hook engine wise I've put a skunk2 pro inlet manifold on, s2000 air filter, Magnacore HT leads, new OEM Honda stem seals and other various stem seals when I put a new head gasket on i got a hole of a ram horn exhaust manifold from a friend of mine that was on his b18 CR-X! my initial plan was to make a full front to back system, but.. I'm not a very subtle type of person so as you can see from the pictures I went for a bumper exit! 4-1 to a stainless 9 degree 3" bend and a 3" straight pipe to the bumper, it sounds pretty mega up the revs and pulled a lot better than when I had the standard system onł Took her to Japshow 2016 on the Micra Sports Club stand Monster truck mode enabled! At my local track on Anglesey, Trac Mon. And then I finally got round to lowering it! Also put in HID's in and took the roof bars off Sunstrip and sticker from when I went on Anglesey track! Red cam cover, s2000 filter and skunk 2 pro inlet manifold, bit of a mess but it looks a lot more tidy now I got rid of the unnessasary hoses and the IAB canister and cabon canister i picked up this exhaust manifold from a friend, had a crack in port no.4 that needed welding up which I got my dad to do as he is amazing at fiddly welding jobs and always manages to make it look neat What the system looks like in full here it is on the car! Pretty much all visable when you take the bumper off which is easy with the bumper ties As you'd expect it is quite loud.. I will be putting a silencer in the middle of the pipe from just after the bend to just before the inside of the bumper soon but it's not my main priority at the moment it pops when you tickle the throttle on overdrive at 2k revs which is fun, and sounds like a racing bike at around 6-8k Ive ordered some exhaust Spring hooks so that the collectors are tight together as I have a slight blow coming from the join, and will put some exhaust paste around to seal In the past couple days I have spaced up the bonnet 20mm and put in purpely pink led sidelights which are pretty And to bring this massive introduction of myself and Vietnam to a close (until I post up here next, the most recent mod I have done is swap over the faces from a set of integra clocks I acquired off eBay for a bargain price, and stuck them to my OEM dials, and pt in the yellow needles, still need to do the temp and fuel gauges and change the colour of the illumination lights but once it's all done it'll be great! I hope you enjoy my pretty much DIY/ghetto build, I'll be uploading pictures and some videos from now on, some of you may already know me and I already know a couple but it's nice to meet you all and fingers crossed I meet you guys at some meets /shows! Peace! -Mark
  13. Hi! Anybody ever tuned a slightly modded MB6? I have stock b18c4 with ITR airbox+CAI and 2.25" catback, decat, Greddy 4-2-1 header. What could be the results with remapped P28 ecu?
  14. Hello everyone, I have started to inquire for the installation of cruise control on our MB6 inspired by Integra GSR USDM ,for now I already home the control unit the actuator and buttons for steering. As a guide for now I'm studying that this EG. http://www.civic-eg.com/causeforalarm/cruise_control/index.php I want to know someone in the forum has ever tried to set the cruise control on MB6?
  15. Since I joined Civic5 and started seeing all the nice Ms I have wanted to have a VTI deck in Pirates Black but due to financial reasons and the price they would be selling for I was unable to fulfil my dream..The other morning I went on Auto Trader just to have a look as usual with no plans of buying a Car..but as I searched for Honda Civic Estates I saw this ad of someone selling a Pirates Black one in Birmingham so me and mrs. decided to go have a look at the car..but as soon as we saw it we knew we have to buy it..so I took it for a test drive and loved it..It's done 136k..Completely standard..2 Previous owners and the last owner had it for 8 years..and it's evident that he looked after it and didn't abuse the car..There is no rust anywhere..some swirls and minor scratches on the paintwork but nothing major..I am very happy and excited to have this car and looking forward to some nice changes Pictures from the ad. I haven't taken any yet..but tomorrow morning if the weather is nice I will take some more
  16. Hi! So... Is there any bolts-on part of the engine, that needs maintenance, cleaning after stock 160k miles? On B18c4 engine. Like throttle body, parts on intake manifold etc, those that can get dirty and decrease a bit power, or makes worse fuel economy. I think it would be great, if we get these easy to do maintenances together.
  17. Best place to buy upgraded mounts and what ones fit mb6, do dc2 ones fit the same. Cheers
  18. Hi everyone, I am revising my B18C4 and already that candle was considering assembling the pistons of the Civic Type R B16B, some of you have already tried to mount them, I would like to know if there are problems
  19. Hi all, for the past week I had a problem with my MB6. I took it home from a complete maintenance at a workshop, including cambelt, water pump,... Suddenly when I was driving around a few days later I've spotted that the temperature slightly rises up, nothing too exciting. But next day when the car was running idle the temperature rises again and the fan didn't even engage. Thought there is something wrong I parked it and the next morning I was looking under the bonnet just to see that there is no coolant fluid, completely dry. Bought new, filled it to full and did some test drives. Turns, city center, some full gases. Checked the water immediately after that, the car was still idling, temp ok, the fan went on and off, coolant full. After that I drove the car about 3kms home and the next morning 3kms back to garage. When I was about to drive home today I checked the water just to see its dry again.... Any ideas? Haven't spotted any leaks so far, exhaust smoke as normal. Engine in perfect condition. Thank you all. PS: Lately I had a problem with VTEC not engaging if that could be all one problem.
  20. Hello all, I’m new to the forum so will give you a little back ground about me, Spent years playing around with various cars, bikes quads etc and never really had anything very fast. In the summer we went for a rolling road day at a tuners in Leicester and got talking with the owner and he convinced me to build a civic turbo. So when I left there I spent weeks and weeks searching the internet for information on Honda’s, let me tell you if you’re not used to Honda’s its very confusing with all these Ek, Eg, Ej, Mb, Ma, etc etc I then came across a lovely clean Mb6 Aerodeck 1.8 Vti and thought would make a great sleeper, as well as coming with Lsd, 1.8 Dohc as standard. Got the car for just over £1300 with full extensive service history so I was quite pleased in the end. I then took the car to the tuners for a rolling road for a health check and power run, It made 163 Bhp which is not bad considering its only lost 7 hp in 15 years, ( and has a slight exhaust blow ) Once confirmed that car was ok to start building i began to write a list of parts needed, based on what i got told i needed and normal replacement parts such as cambelt kit etc. That list over the last 6 weeks has just got longer and longer. I planned on getting it to 300 bhp, and then wanted to make sure the engine was strong enough to be used on a daily basis and now we are looking at making it a 500bhp car. Thanks for looking more pictures to follow
  21. Hi! Injectors are very noisy on my b18c4. Is it normal they have ticky sound? Any ideas for cleaning? Long time ago, I used some fuel system cleaner stuff added to normal 95, after that, I replaced fuel fllter. then I used 95 premium around 70% of my fuelings, to keep the system clean. other 30% is normal 95..
  22. Has anyone bought one of these already done n set up for are cars? Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391454331485 Or opinions please
  23. When I first signed up here I mentioned I'd have an MB6 in a few months. It has now been a few months. It's a completely standard (for now!) Sicilian Red VTi with 90k on the clock. We've had it in the family for 8 years and I actually had the pleasure of learning to drive in it. Probably why I passed first time. I'm picking the car up from my parents' place on Saturday (which is when their insurance ends and mine starts) so for now here's a few pictures I took a while ago. 24. Hello everybody, it seems that some of my S9B shafts bearings is getting bad. The transmission started to give out a "weeeeen" while accelerating...at first it was in 5th gear at about 100 km/h, then it started to do the same in 1st and 2nd, now also 3rd and 4th are beginning. My intention would be to replace the bearings now, without waiting for a further aggravation of the noise. My question: is this kit OK for the S9B? http://www.tegiwaimports.com/select-car/honda/ek/drivetrain/mfactory-synchrotech-bearing-and-seal-kit-94-01-honda-integra-b16-hydro.html the S9B/MB series is not in the fitment list, but I guess that it should fit. Alternatively, can you suggest some other online shop (maybe with lower prices)? Thank you
