  1. Hello everyone, put this off for sometime as wanted to get a few things done and sorted before starting this thread.Where to start, well I bought my Mb2 nearly two years ago from a neighbour who was going to part exchange the car in so had it for £200 bargain really as they're an elderly couple and had the car from new, garaged it and only had 65k on the clock. After I bought her and the keys were handed over, that's where the fun started!First thing I did was buy some his lights which made a big difference, they are some Chinese brand but have been on 2 years now. Next was some fogs with another hid kit on, I just couldn't justify paying prices of the second hand fogs for the car. After saving up some more I bought some 17" alloys which I have just taken off due to hopefully getting some 15" BBS ones. After that I thought to take some attention to under the hood. A induction kit has been added which just made it sound meatier, not so sure about performance. Then got a few bargains. Bought a front and rear brace both for £10! Tried to make the back brace look as pretty as I could by cutting part of the carpet out the back , as I'm not the best at making things look neat Biggest and the best mod I've done has got to be my coilovers got them off Matt who's Mb sadly died.Along when purchasing his coilovers I also bought blacked out headlights and his black grill..all this was great and Matt is such a top lad! All that fitted and she is looking mighty fine. Then I made a trip to to get a silver vti-s kit which set me back £60! I know what a bargain! The bad points which I've finally got the ball rolling are the back arches, for some reason even though the couple who owned KT before garaged her , the arches are eaten away so getting those sorted in the upcoming months.and finally slight paint flaking on my back bumper but all in all everything else is rosey. Could anyone give me some ideas for some engine mods? I have been thinking of a swap but don't know if worth it? Let me know !!! Thanks and will try and update as often as possible
  2. i got this back in july 2011 and started modding. here is how i bought it. first of all i took off the rear badges i then lowered it on coilovers. it was a bit low first of all and couldn't get over anything!! (but wouldn't mind it that low again) i then bought my mates wheels, they are in need of a refurb on the lips though i bought a rear mid spoiler off a member on here then this one was only just to get the peeping pedo bear in
  3. 1998 Honda Civic Aerodeck B18C4 - Koni Sportkit -35mm and adjustable stiffness - Sportline lipkit - 16†Zero ZE04-rims with 205/45 Falken-tyres - for the winter 15†League 273’s with 195/55 Continentals - Tinted windows - Custom headlights - Custom grille - Red brake calipers up front - De-badged - Removed the headlight washers - Indiglo dials from Moman - Mugen pedals - Tenzo-R shift knob - Simoni Racing floor mats Greetings from the north, this is my second aerodeck. My first car was a MB8 that i bought in July 2008 but in march 2009 i couldn't resist anymore, took a loan and got myself the car that i had wanted in the first place, the MC2. It wasn't in the best possible condition when i got it and still needs lots of work, but slowly and surely it's starting to turn into what i hope one day will be the lowest, fastest and baddest Aerodeck in Finland. I just got my winter rims from Alloywheels.com and got them installed, i'll post pictures of the new look soon. I have lots planned for my deck... i'll keep you updated on the progress.
  4. Hi guys kinda of a odd first question. for the people who have split there head lights to either paint the inside black or to do projector conversion, could someone tell me the dimensions of the internal head light bucket mainly width and hight. also look to put a spoiler on my mb as the ducktail didn't work out what goes well on them? Thanks Ben
  5. Hi civ5! Im from Portugal and im new here. Here is my mb6, most of the mods were done by last owner but i got some details to repair and upgrades to do! some pics here ic
  6. Yes I kid you not, I've been off the radar for a while but I'm back to introduce to you my new weekend toy, Steve! A few quick details/spec for you: 1999 123k miles (added a few miles already though!) RB25DET - Standard (Supposed to be 280bhp) Fresh import, landed in the UK December 2016 Turbo back 3" Fujitsubo exhaust HKS dumpvalve Blitz turbo timer Rays alloys Tape deck! I can't believe how comfortable the car is and I think it's pretty quiet while you're inside too! Love how it sounds too! I'm just glad it's not the everyday car because it gulps VPower for s**ts and giggles!
  7. Hi eveyone thought it was about time I uploaded some pics of what I'm doing/done to my Ma. I going for a retro racer look so some things might be trial and error. What I've done so far: stripped most of the interior out stripped most the dash and behind the dash. sanded down and strip parts for painting.
  8. Hi everyone. is anyone running 16s on there civic if so could you please post a picture? what is the fitment like also? lastly has anyone done a 5 stud conversion on a civic if so whats needed and from what car? Thanks Ben
  9. So for a very long time its been well known the Civic MA/B/C is based upon the Honda Domani / Acura EL in Canada/States which also shares a hell of a lot of parts with the Rover 45 / MG being the same platform. It was also sold in places around asia-pacific as the Isuzu Gemini (MA = 1993-94, MB = 1997) or Suzuki Baleno (1999 era).. Well after a hell of a lot of digging around I found a few other varients based upon the domani, and thus sharing the majority of parts with MA/B/C/EG/DC2... Enter the ring... Honda City Type-SZ (SX8) Now I have to apologise if the quality of the images are terrible, I'm on limited internet service at work and they block sites such as Flickr, Photbucket, Imgur etc What I'm hoping is that we can gather up any images of City's, Baleno's, Gemini's, Acura's, Domani's, MA/B/Cs and compile them into a somewhat of a image knowledge base so people can get inspiration and ideas for projects. I love the VTI-S kit how it sets off the bubbly "soft" lines and makes the car look more aggressive but I'd love to see a bit more creativity with the MB. If you've got a few pictures please post them up, would be fantastic to get them together in one place Aug 18th: I'm now making this a thread dedicated to gaining inspiration for your project!
  10. Hi everyone does anyone know if the side repeaters on the front wings of the civic have to be there as i want to blank mine off. I know after a little bit of research the indicator light cluster has to wrap around the side and be visable which i think it is but would like someone elses opinion Thanks Ben
  11. So I'm Finch! I've been here before by many names with many cars over the years but this ones the one to stay, I've never really progressed very far with a build blog as I tend to forget to take pictures! Not this time! The car has been posted once before under another name but I thought I'd start again and in a few days time when works less hectic get the DSLR out and take some decent pictures. The car is a (fairly) stock 1.4 Sport MB8 in Knighthawk Black. It has AC, PS, Alloys and Electric windows as standard and the same interior as the VTI-S/MB6 for all intents and purposes. I picked the car up in February I think it was and paid £400 with 160k on the clocks which rapidly climbed to 182k by this morning (I do ALOT of driving). I took the car for MOT on Sat and it passed with flying colours, only two advisories; Small oil leak (coming from the filter seal on inspection) and bushing on steering rack is worn. Both will be remedied in following days! In the last few days I suspected a headgasket issue due to steam coming from around the head and burbling and bubbling in the overflow/expansion tank, I did a tstat change and fluid renewell about a month ago (do it every 3 or so months). Did a compression test this morning (dry, cold start) before work and got 220 215 225 217 so I was both very pleased and very confused to say the least! I expected a really really low value somewhere though I have no loss of power or anything. So I bled the system and tada the engine has stayed cool today and the heaters were warm! though I'm keeping water with me incase! I gave my MOT tester a call and he said he'd looked at the fluids to make sure levels were good due to the small oil leak so I'm now wondering if there was an air-lock caused by him checking the water level. In the first 3 days of owning the car I had already ordered a bunch of stuff and dug-out a few bits I already owned. Bought: VTI strutbrace - £5! - Facebook / 20min drive VTI-S Lipkit - £??? - @Dogg1210 Domo-kun (45cm tall) - ¥1600 / £12~ - from my buddy who lives in Japan still DC2 Wheel boss - £6 - Fleabay "Mugen" Formula XG4 shiftknob - £5 - Fleabay (I think??) Skunk2 bonnet risers - £4 - Old stock from old work place Password JDM Engine and Bay dressup bolts - £??? - Old stock from work Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance - £200 - Kwikfit (I'll never use them again, I was just in a bind, they're thieving robbing b***ards - dropped alloys off to them as car was on axle stands. They claimed to have fitted them to the car and tried to charge me £160 ON TOP for fitting) Rover 45 Deflectors - £25 - Fleabay Owned: Defi Advance ZD Clubsport gauge set - ¥60000 / £600~ - Bought it in Japan for my S14 @ Super Autobacs VertexJAPAN 7-Star deep-dish leather steering wheel (330mm) - ¥39850 / £300 - Bought it in Japan for my S14 @ Super Autobacs Made: Few stickers - I owned a vinyl cutter until 3 weeks ago when I sold it Resistor / Fuse pack for my airbag light I got sick of the sagging headlining and door card material hanging more than the back lips of a 40year old babestation model so pulled it all out, leaving back door cards with material and the fronts without.. for now! I'm fitting the rest of the kit on Sunday will then clean her again and will dig the camera out and take some proper shots! In the next few days I'm ordering BC Racing ER's (External Reservoir), Will get those fitted along side: Hardrace front LCA's Skunk2 Upper Control arms (front) Function 7 rear LCA's Hardrace Rear Camber Arm Hardrace Rear toe arm Function 7 Rear sub-brace Benen Billet Tie bar Blue the Aerodeck 1.6 VTEC Aerodeck.. Electric everything, sunroof etc for £350
  12. Hi, I already know that on MB6 I need camber arms from EG and DC2. But what brand/make? What did you buy and how satisfied are you? I saw D2s are quite cheap, are they bad in any way? how about Buddy Club, Hardrace, Skunk2? Are they any better? What in particular is better? Thanks for you suggestions
  13. MeisterR made a lot of changes in 2016, and I am sure many of our members have done a lot to their car also. We want to get some fresh update for 2017, and we want to see what members have to say about their MeisterR coilovers. We would like some pictures (with a MeisterR sticker preferred ) for our gallery and reviews of the coilovers from members who have used them, both new and old. It would also be easier to have everything under a single thread to aid members doing their own research. So if you have pictures of your car on MeisterR coilovers, please post them and write a short review of what you think of them. 1. Name: (If you want to provide it) 2. Location: (Town or County) 3. Car Make / Model / Specific Info: (Trim / Packages / Other Mods) 4. MeisterR Coilovers Model: (ZetaCRD, ZetaCRD+, GT1 etc) 5. Short Review: a. Performance on Road: b. Performance on Track: c. Value for Money: d. Would you buy again: e. Any Personal Note: 6. Pictures: Please attach any pictures you have of your car that you want to show the world. 7. 14. Another Shell, Another Engine, Another Turbo, Another Build... The latest incarnation:
  15. Hi guys, I'm new around here and just thought I would post my progress so far and progress to come. This is '97 MB4 civic, it is only my second car, the first one I will be modding. It is not vtec, the insurance wouldn't allow it, but it is a 1.6i ES, so it has leather seats, heated wing mirrors etc. As of 27/04/17, the current mod list is small but still cost more than the car, so easy to spend a lot of money on car mods!! Sound system. 2 x 1000w RMS alpine type R subwoofers, 4000w inPhase mono amp, alpine CDE-185BT head unit. I haven't touched the front speakers, but they are actually really good and keep up! I don't know if they are this good from factory or if they will be aftermarket as I haven't bothered to check seeing as I don't need to. Blue LED Underglow lights, Front and sides. Lenso D1R 15" alloys, with hankook 205-50-15 tyres The mods am planning are: Speakers in the parcel shelf (The rear speakers currenty are tiny and not very good) Sorting out the bodywork from previous owner. The dents in the front wings will be sorted. The wheels that I have stick out a little, So was thinking about sourcing some form of wide archers if I can Finish off the underglow. There are no LED's at the back yet Wind Deflectors Blue clock lights Blue LED's inside, including lining the boot and footwells Want to debadge the "Honda", "Civic", "1.6i ES", but leave the honda logo on. Only thing is im not sure if they are just glued on or if they will leave holes in the boot because they clip in Spoiler Maybe a sunstrip Backbox, not going to bother with the rest of the exhaust, I am aware this isn't a fast motor, so i'm not going to try. Just want it to sound good haha LED headlights Need to see if there are any LED taillight clusters Might lower it a little, not sure yet though Window tinting Wrap, was thinking metallic black Any other things that I have not thought about here that are cool, let me know *When I get back from work I will try and get a video of the subs, they are awesome!*
  16. hi all, time to make a start on my project thread. Been lurking a couple of months gathering parts and doing some research, and getting bored with the stock 100,000 mile tired old mb6 so it's time to pull my finger out and start modding. Parts so far: Ebay coilovers powerflex bushings various hard parts (tie rods etc.) plastic whales p***s new ht leads and dizzy cap/rotor bosch battery 4-1 ebay manifold drilled & grooved discs with mintex pads buddy club p1 16x7j wheels with toyo t1r's kenwood head unit, kenwood 10'' sub and jbl amp misc fluids etc. I have a set of new old stock itr pistons (pr3) and a 98 type r cylinder head (p72) with valves and springs but no cams. I plan on doing a full rebuild and hi comp N/A build in the future but for now i just want to get the car lightly modded and sitting right, work out the issues. Been hit with health problems recently so i'm not going to be overseas working for a coupla months which sucks so moneys gonna be tight but i will have plenty of time. Lucky for me i have a decent sized workshop with full sized pit with overhead beam and hoist, just need to get off my a*s and get it cleared out properly, nearly there. You'll be seeing plenty of pics over the next few weeks anyway so looking forward to you guys feedback along the way. Lets do this. mb6 with it's little brother S205OBY wheel choice voltmeter sounds will upload more pics soon
  17. Hi all im jay n this is my aerodeck vti. Its got 120k on the clock. Some service history and many battle scars and signs of abuse perfect for a project and was mine for 1k. I bought it nearly a year ago n its solid underneath no rust anywhere its just a little tatty on the paintwork usuall story the paint is flaking on the bonnet and boot (longbridge build quality lol) n lots of carpark dings n scratches. Mechanically its sound engine wise that is lol as for the gearbox its the noisiest one ive ever had as recently its started to play up long story short new one getting fitted next week along with a new clutch.
  18. Hi guys, so after selling my 300zx and a brief spell with a lovely gold Volvo s40 1.8 I sold that as well and thought about getting a winter car, why not one with a v8? so here my 2000 grand Cherokee that I got for a steal! it needed a new engine sump which ive done and replaced oil and filter, and a new radiator which ive also done now she's running sweet, also came with roof bars so ive fitted my bike rack to it. its the comfiest car ive ever driven, it is my only car right now and its automatic but luckily my job allows me to drive manual cars everyday so I don't lose my touch haha in the spring this will get stored away for summer and ill be getting something else. (probably something that goes around corners faster than this) and yes its very thirsty before you ask lol let me know what you guys think!
  19. Rover 400 The Civic Conversion Project I was working on my Impreza, when I decided I was going to get a cheap run-around while I took it off the road to do some work on it. I bought a Rover 400 for £200. I knew nothing about the cars, and had no idea it was even a turbo (As it wasn't listed as one on eBay). It was far too slow to be a turbo, but when I tried to insure it, they insisted it was a turbo model. After some inspection of the engine, I realised it was in fact a turbo, and I was then very interested in getting a bit more power and torque from the engine. I looked at some pictures of modified Rover 400's and they actually look half decent. It was then, I wanted to upgrade some of the body work, such as the facelift MG ZS rear end which has a flush boot lid. Somehow, I discovered that the Rover 400 shared exactly the same chassis as the Honda Civic MB 5 door, and that's when I decided to do a full exterior conversion. When I was able to get my hands on a rolling shell, I figured I'd also swap over the interior. The Rover 400 has a grey and wood effect interior, which is a bit too "grandad-esque" for my liking. As you can see from the image, the interior is exactly the same. Rover 400 Interior: Honda Civic MB Interior: Of course, it wouldn't be right to have an 86bhp car that looked fast, so I'll also be doing some engine tuning. Being that this is a mechanical injection mode, digital tuning such as tuning boxes and remapping is not possible. So I will be upping the fuel intake, fitting an intercooler, and fitting a new model turbo charger. The engine already has SDi injectors capable of increased fueling. I'm probably looking at increasing the power to around 130-150, with tons more torque. I'm picking up the Civic shell on Saturday, so stay tuned for updates.
  20. iv copied all this of newbie page so sorry for it being a repeat basically. but saves typing lol..... Hi I'm Jack. Just got my 1st Honda the other day. my boss was selling for £500 but given it me for £250. It's only a replacement runaround for my current car that's no mot at the min as I've got loads of work to do to it. Anyways as for the civic I may be tempted to keep as its been really well looked after. Interior looks new and not a scratch on the body work (although the colour is a horrid blue/green 2tone). It's a 1999 1.4 16v SE MB2. no rust anywhere and nice clean chassis underneath. its overall condition though is what's has given it potential for me to keep and i have a few ideas. Plans for it are: Respray (which i can do at work). spray the headlight internal casing black along with the chrome grill surround. mesh the grill and bumper. Alloys. Exhaust. Induction. Lowered. Spray wood trims on dash to probably black. window tints and probably tint rear lights. Tidy engine bay up. not that its manky, just put a few fancy bits in there. So I need some help off you guys. Looking for stuff on the above list if anyone has out let me know. also i know these are body shared with rover, so can someone enlighten me what parts of my honda i would have to order rover bits for e.g lowering springs, exhaust, induction, spoilers, bumpers etc. mates have told me not to bother doing anything to it and just save until i can afford a car i really want. but due to this civic being in such condition and being ideal for my lil family of 2 kids i want to plan on keeping it for a long time. i know It's not the best looking of car's but plans will make it look half decent anyways lol. The engine has no signs of oil leaks ever and it's done 130k but loads and loads of service history. cam belt was done last year but there is a constant squeak upon start up coming from the cambelt area. so either the cambelt needs tightening or the tensioner is on way out or even water pump perhaps?????? Nippy engine too for a 1.4 and I love the noise of Honda engines. oh a couple of pics i think my original car thats just ran out of mot but needs work doing before i put it in for test. saxo 1.6 vtr and my new car. the civic 1.4 16v se. the only pic iv got of it other than the one of both together. will have to give her a wash and get more shots of it both on the drive, saxo has no wing as im respraying it. oh heres a pic for you of how my saxo started to how it is now, all done on a low budget and everything done by me. so with the things i did plus all the problems along the way (being off the road last year for 3 months due to failing mot and me having an operation on my shoulder, hg going in the 1.4 so full engine conversion to the vtr engine, replaced gearbox and clutch several times due to a bad mount, replaced bearings, driveshaft, hubs, drums, pads, shoes, full engine and interior loom, failing emissions on mot so had plugs, exhaust, fuel filter, the list goes on). to say iv only had it just over a year and i was out of work at the time i didnt do to bad with it if i do say so myself....... as you can see the previous owner was a bit of a chav lol so thats probs why iv had nothing but trouble with it lol so since last week when i got the car so far its had new alloys £50, wasnt keen on the wheels themselves but on the car i think they look pretty good. thinking about spraying them black so they look a bit smaller, then dropping the car should make them look better. Managed to win a new induction kit last-night for £2.20 +£8pp. The type with the chrome tube that goes right across and down in the arch lining with a blue cone and blue silicone breather hose. God I'm good at bargains for this car lol. induction kit should arrive tomorrow so i will fit that at work if it does come thats all so far, again apologise for copying from my newbie post but saves trouble starting up again
  21. As a few of you no I have a Is200 for a daily driver this was supposed to be left stock obviously this did not happen. Don't it have many pictures due to losing most of them Spec will be added soon What it looked like when I first got it ( lowering springs fitted ) Following was done Full respray in evo 9 blue Angel eyes with smoked headlights Cree lights LSD TRD badge on front TRD sideskirts TRD rear lip Arm rest Few more changes were made 18" aero alloys fitted Rear roof visor Fogs done yellow more to come soon
  22. Hi everyone, some of you may remember me who had the silver Honda civic with the lensos. My car thread name was " My little mb2". Well i would have done this a lot sooner but i forgot my password for this site and only just sorted it out again so i can catch up on a lot of stuff I've missed and to start this thread on here on my new motor. I've not got a Honda Prelude 2.2vti which i swapped with my dad; he has now got the mb2. Unfortunately he didn't really look after the lude and the usual rust on the arches. So the first thing I did was give it a good old service , and then spent some good money getting the bodywork back to a decent standard. I purchased a good exhaust system with a 4-2-1 japspeed manifold decatted. Along with projector headlights from the states, new ep3 steering wheel and the vti bodykit. I then for the first time purchases some brand new jr racing alloys for the car which I love. 9.5 j at the back and 8.25 on the fronts. Took the car on the dyno and impressed me with a printout of 209bhp . i have probably have forgotten loads but will be adding to this thread as much as I can

    Wheel fitment

Hi! I'm about to fit my wheels outer a bit with spacer. BUT... its possible on rear, that arch is cutted short... on the front... its already scrubbing when turning left or right and theroad is a bit bad. So, how to make nice fitment, get the wheels out to line of the arch? pictures, ideas, tips? I need around 10mm i think, but Idont want to dent my front fender arch :\ pics about current setup:
  24. Having gone through a series of issues with supplied parts recently I and a few friends I've worked with in the past are looking to setup a small speedshop that also caters for standard parts. I've spoken to Dave here about prospectively becoming a trader but to do that I need to get setup first.. And before I can get setup I need to do some market research! I'm in the midst of building a webstore with a metric f**ktonne of encryption and various other backups towards security. We're hoping to cater directly for the MB/MC chassis with a range of tried-tested parts, Initially, We are looking to stock things like Intake kits, Silicone hoses, dress-up parts and eventually would like to stock everything from internal components, suspension components to fiberglass panels. We're looking to also stock service kits both upgraded and standard spec parts. I've spoken to an engineering firm who're willing to do a limited run of exhaust systems for both the Aerodeck and fastback civics in both D and B series I have got a few companies on board right now with meetings and talks setup with brands such as Lucas oils, Exol oils, ADL Blueprint / Bilstien, Mahle etc. I've also been in contact with 3 of the major "shiny bits" companies like BWR, ASR and Function7, Two of the brands are quite interested in doing a modified Aerodeck option to their braces due to the 4mm closer in bolt holes, the other wasn't as excited. We're looking for some input here so if you have anything that you would like to see available off the shelf with direct support and fitment, I'll be happy to listen! Finch
