Mb6 lost all power

I took my vti-s out for a drive and It seemed to just cut out off the power, stayed at 3krpm but wouldn't accelerate, started and drove fine a while later. Anyone have an idea what this could be? I know it needs a clutch and it does slip sometimes but can't see that be that surely. There was a plug under the dizzy caked in oil so don't know whether that caused it. Thanks in advance

If the clutch was slipping the revs would generally rise whilst in gear without necessarily gaining any speed.

 

Could be worth checking the spark plugs and maybe look to replace those and the leads?

Yeah I did stutter before cutting out all together, I was in the middle of Wales with no signal so was lucky it started up again lol.

Apparently it had new dizzy and leads and service but I think it might have been a lie due to the bolts snapping on the plug covers :/

I would get the dizzy checked and timing.

 

Sounds like its got an intermittent misfire.
