BasV
99 civic mb3Dear civic enthousiasts, Since a few days after using my airco alot, the engine is influenced much more by the use of airco the normaly. When driving with airco the engine constantly holds back and goes, holds back and goes. When idle the engine has much trouble not to stall. When the airco is turned off none of these problems occur. The airco was serviced a few weeks ago. I hope someone can help out.
JayTripleR
Hi , it sounds like your aircon pump is siezed or about to remove your belt on it and see if it spins ok ,when the pump puts too much load on then the revs will struggle
noodels
Ecu reset
Gel
I'd also recommend an ECU reset as a starting point.
KiNK43
Concurring start with a reset. Air con in these does seem to apply quite a load.
JayTripleR
Also check alternator pulley while you have belt off and check it turns freely
BasV
After ecu reset start engine with airco on? Thanks for your help!
Gel
Nope....it's best to allow the car to idle for 10 minutes or so with all electrics switched off......then shut your engine down....once you re-start your engine and drive about in ECU learning mode.....that's the time to switch your A/C on.
