J18bey
just looking for a quick bit of advice folk. I picked my mb up a couple of weeks ago and drove around 200 miles on the journey home. The whole time the temp gauge never moved higher than the temp in the picture. I'm pretty sure it needs a thermostat but before I start throwing bits at it I just need to know is this the normal running temp?
KiNK43
It's a tad low compared to other hondas I've had. They usually sit just under half. Or about a 3rd up. First thing to do is change thermostat and go from there.
J18bey
Cheers for the advise. Did think it was running a bit cooler than it should least I know what the first job of the weekend is now.
Crazy_Mark
Mine is normally slightly higher than in the pic. Closer to halfway.
hondasport
@J18bey mine gauge is the same as yours. Never showed any higher. Never had problems with it
dr_broon
I'd say mines normally at about a third. Never been much higher.
J18bey
Ordered thermostat today came in a £9 and was going to flush coolant anyway so it's no big hassle. Had the same problem with a golf gti a few years ago so no doubt this will fix it. Will post up once I've done and let you know the results.
