Question

When driving in slow traffic 1st or 2nd gear when slowing down or speeding up I hear a knock on the drivers side (Portugal so its the left side) and the car rocks back and forth until I press the clutch. any ideas? thinking the knock is inner cv joint worn out but could the rocking be a bad clutch or gearbox? cheers

Sounds very strange! Are you only hearing this knock at low speeds? Usually the way to find out if a CV join is failing is to take the car into a car park, and turn the steering onto full lock. Then start to pull away, but keep it on full lock. Do this with the steering on full lock in both directions. Is there any "clicking" or clonking?
