swapped my aerodeck a wee while back for a facelift ek coupe. Spent a bit time tidying it up and preparing it for a b series engine swap (my old c4 from the mb6 which dropped a valve and needing rings) but when browsing Facebook one day I found a preface lift coupe with a b16 conversion and some other tasty parts for sale local, and cheap. I bought that, sold my facelift coupe and spent a bit time sorting some of the bodges on the new coupe. Then when browsing Facebook again lol I came across a nicely spec'd mb6 which was also fairly local for a good price. The guy I bought the coupe off was eager to buy it back so I said if he gave me what the mb6 was going for then we could do a deal, which he jumped at. After driving the mb6 I knew I had to have it, I felt right at home. I prefer the styling of the m civics and I feel their very underrated which makes them more appealing to me :)

a ma brief spec on the new mb6 is...

B18c4

421 manifold
Decat
Custom stainless catback
Top fuel carbon induction kit
Apexi neo controller
Vtec set at 4.8k
Lightened flywheel
 Short shifter
Momo gearknob
Polybushed
Koni adjustables
Buddyclub front camber arms
M2 rear camber arms
Braided brake lines
Drilled and grooved discs
Lightweight evo alloys
Additional upper strut brace
Kode dished steering wheel
Hid low hi kit
Mesh grille
De tangoed and sprayed headlights

the car has been owned by enthusiasts and feels very good to drive. There is one issue with the gearbox/or linkage. It become stiff and hard to remove/engage gears when it's warm. Iv replaced the oil but this hasn't made much difference. Next I'm going to change the short shifter and linkage to see if this helps. Apart from that it's a joy to drive. I plan on adding my own wee touches to the car and just generally tidy bits up.

heres a couple pics I snapped when I bought 2 weeks ago...

Yeah, this is a problem with photo bucket. I found that if you go to the links for an image you want to show, use the "direct" one and it displays them fine. They seem to have changed how their links work. Will post up in the forum tips section so members know what to do. Nice list of mods @marv

Here's the link to how to post photos from photobucket

I've also added it to the "How to use the forum" guide in the forum sidebar (or bottom bar if using a phone)

  • 2 weeks later...

Done a few wee bits on the civic lately. I had the rear tail light bulb holders from my old mb6 so I decided to do the jdm tail light mod.

i also had the old back box I'd had made for my previous mb6 too. It was them fitted to my aerodeck and then my coupe lol so I cut the outward rolled tip off and went to see a local exhaust fabricator in wallyford. His welding and fabrication work is unreal! Such a nice guy too who also has an interest in Hondas. We proceeded to swap the tip for me and whilst it was on the ramp I discovered that the current custom exhaust is 2.25" with a 421 with the same size collector. The fabricator even admitted that the b series engines like to breath and a 2.5" system would be better. Iv since won a 4-1 hks manifold with 2.5" collector, made an adjustable 2.5" decat so il now just gather the parts needed to complete the exhaust build. Here's some bad pics of my new tip.
