Hello guys 👍

As I already mentioned in a previous topic, I have been building a "fake" Aerodeck VTI-S and I would like to know a bit more about this variant.

For the MB6 VTI-S I found that 500 units were released around the world, is this number correct? 🤔

Now, to answer my questions:

1) I couldn't found any official information about the number of MC2 VTI-S units that were released, does this information even exist?

2) From all these units, were all released in the UK or were also available at some other countries?

3) From the extra parts available for the VTI-S are all of those exclusive for that model or could some be selected on an standard VTI?

I would assume the mats and the aluminum gear knob are exclusive on the VTI-S model, but what about the lips and mid spoiler? Could these be purchase as extra on a standard VTI? Because I see a lot of wagons that are not Pirate Black, so those should not be genuine VTI-S 🤔

Hi mate. There is some mystery over the actual numbers of each VTiS model made. The logbook should have made it easy to identify a genuine one, but unfortunately even that is a minefield as Honda dealerships made mistakes with them when registering the car with the UK DVLA. Some have VTiS on the logbook, some just state model as VTi. The only parts that were unique to the VTiS were drivers side floor mat which had the VTiS logo on it (the other 3 mats were just standard) the gear knob (alloy and engraved in the early VTiS, silver plastic/black leather with "VTiS" in black on it for the post 1997 ones) and the alloys (again, these differed so early ones got 15" Speedline Chronos wheels, later ones got the same as the ones in your photos which are 15" Speedline "fans"). The body kit was available in the accessory catalogue, but was standard on the VTiS. The "mid spoiler" on the aerodeck was also an accessory option. The other thing that marked out the VTiS was the pirates black paint. All VTiS came in pirates black only, so any you see that don't have pirates black are 100% not a genuine VTiS. The Aerodeck ones are a lot rarer as most were the mb6 5 door hatch.

Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for your help Dave 👍

This is atually a big help. It's sad there's no oficial numbers from Honda but it will surely be around the few hundred.

Just something it wasn't really clarified from your answer, were these VTiS models released exclusively the UK? I can only find genuine VTiS a right side steering wheel. All the ones I found outside the UK are in colors different from the pirate black.

As for the unique parts, I'll try to find a good aluminium gear knob and a drivers side floor, which will be almost impossible probably 😅
