johngreen537
I'd say that'd be too harsh for the road mate. Traffic would be a nightmare.Last time drove with a stage 3, it's litteraly on or off, makes it ni-on impossible to gear change smoothly!Perfect for racing, not so good for Bristol town centre

digitalfaze
i need a clutch and flywheel too, what year is the teg box from? 96 spec has the same ratios as a y21 but y21 is cheaper, whereas the 98+ spec has the 4.7fd and they are pretty hard to find. Gav_ek4
best clutch i have used in any of my hondas is a genuine honda integra type r clutch , combine an integra type r clutch with an itr flywheel and a s80 and the difference in an mb6 will be like night and day
dr_broon
so I've just found this site:http://www.teammfactory.com/final-drive-gears-road-raceam I right in thinking that using one of these better final drives would be another way of achieving the same thing - options on 4.785 or 4.928 and stating pretty good increases over the 4.4 even.seems like it'd be a safe way to do it.. a brand new part into a gearbox that you already know isn't goosed... I know that you're still stuck with the s9 ratios for 1st and 2nd though.whaddya reckon?
Gav_ek4
s9b with 4.7 fd is quite possibly the best ratios you can get in a honda box

Gav_ek4
my old 4 had an s9b with a 4.7 fd and diff out a blown s80 in it and it was a fantastic box, ratios were absolutely spot on
dr_broon
nice one.. So I reckon that this isn't something I wanna be doing in the back street, so does anyone know how much labour would be involved in doing the swap?
