Guest VTI-S
http://cars.homenetcs.co.uk/honda-civic-mb6/modifications-gearbox.htmFrom this I'm not sure if 5th gear is more docile and the 2-3 gears are more aggressive on the S80?I'm not exactly sure how final drive relates to gear ratios Yea i've seen the graph on that site too, but not really helpful. Can anyone explain how final drive and revs can be used to calculate wheel speed?
megamitzmb6
What RPM would I be hitting in 5th doing 70mph with a S80 gearbox, Approx ( dont matter to much what wheel size , does it? ) I want one but not if 70 lands me in the 1st stage of VTEC . The noise although nice isnt cool for a long haul Neither is the fuel consumption stuff the fuel consumptionthe s80 4.4 and ek9 s4c 4.4both the same box, i have hardly noticed any difference in fuel costs tbh.i average out 50 miles for a tenner.but what you do gain is a massive difference in pulling power, the 2nd gear in the s9b box is the worst ever imo, unless your going boost. y4n
Ive got a mfactory 4.785 final drive in my s9b and 60mph is at 3600rpm on standard 15inch wheels 5th gear in a s9b is 0.848and 5th in a s80 is 0.787so the s80 with the standard 4.785 final drive and the 0.787 fifth is more motorway friendly than my s9b with modded final drive and 0.848 fifth.
