I have a 98 spec DC2 Type R steering rack on my MB3. Fitted in perfect, just needed to swap the pipes over. This would lead me to believe that a 96 spec DC2 steering rack (doesn't have power steering) would fit your car and fulfill your needs. As it's designed not to have power steering it shouldn't be too heavy. Hope this helps.

130,500 miles. And she still has 110.2 hp remaining from the original 114 Vtec reliability for the win!

You may want to watch out for that camber mate. I ran -1.8 for like 2k miles with no ill effect, but reduced it to -1.6. 6k miles of motorway driving later and bye bye tyres! alas If it helps I found -1.3 is a pretty good compromise for handling vs tyre life. Will vary on tyres tho, mine are Proxes, soft sidewall. But, looking dam fine, love the Rota's!
