Last night, hailstorm, some the size of ping pong balls, proper solid bits of ice
Zafira is even worse, had to make an insurance Claim on the damage, guy over the road had his windscreen smashed
-
As title anyone else's car get damaged last night?
Bonnet, roof and wings all badly dented:(
-
That wouldn't worry me at all, and if I could hazard a guess rocker gasket would be the first thing to check/change before hg became a possibility
As above any oil usage or anything through the exhaust with any coolant loss?
-
Not much in the way of updates, just been out with the Mrs driving it. Although I'm using it atm as she has more fuel in than me:)
Did chuck on some smoked rover side repeaters on and fitted some tweeter panels from a dead 45 too, so handy having a breakers yard over the field

Definitely, cheapest set of 17"s I've bought, 2 tyres have heavier wear on the insides as been over inflated, still legal though will need to keep an eye on them
-
Thanks Gel, yeah it is fun to drive, the Mrs has come round to it alot the more she is driving it. She admitted esterday that she did quite like it:)
-
I know exactly what you mean, we have a Zafira on the motability scheme, and it's just transport to me, I've given the Civic more attention in 3 weeks than the Zafira in over a year:)
-
Nice looking mb2 mate
Nice to see another auto in the club:)
-
Quick pic with a cheap set of wheels on, not bad for £80
Not forgetting the vtec door decal, for some reason I always fit these to civics as I love where they are fitted, get some stick from the lad up the road for it, keeps saying are you waiting for vtec still
What you get from leon cupra owners i guess:)
I've now found I'm using the Civic more than the Zafira, it's been stood on the street feeling sorry for itself for nearly a week

Thanks mate, I might as well get some fluid and change it
Dealers is only 2 mins up the road so easy enough to get, might as well get the rocker gasket that it needs while I'm there:)
-
I've checked the fluid today, still looks clean with no burnt smell, so reckon it could have been done not too long ago
Sometimes it seems a little lazy to change gear, just wondered if it was the fluid, then again I've read that's fairly normal for a Honda auto
-
As title I'm looking into changing the autobox fluid, for peace of mind really as I don't know when it was last done
Is it really as easy as those videos on YouTube suggest?
-
I do quite like those Cubes
-
I don't know why she has this thing against Honda's, she seems to think they are old man's cars, we were behind an integra type R today and I asked what she thought about it to which she was meh
Although she went a little quiet when it left us like we were standing, my reply was Vtec baby!
-
Yeah it has discs all round, front discs have seen better days and quite scored with quite a lip on the edge, pads down to half a centimetre so I reckon that's first on the list, from a safety aspect mainly
Handbrake is actually pretty good, better than both my previous Civics so it's been used as normal by the feels of it
And yes it is surprisingly nippy, I overtook on a short stretch of carriageway this afternoon, foot flat down she kicked down like a Gooden:)

Thanks for the comments fellas
Yeah Grant her taste in cars consists of something French, preferably a 206cc or a Clio
The only thing jap I could get her to look at was an mx5
She has her suspicions I may have bought the Civic more for myself, I don't know what's given her that idea mind :/
Maybe the fat 17" alloys I fitted today or the sohc vtec decals on the lower rear door might be a giveaway

Thought I'd start a project thread on the on the new Civic
Its a Mb4, an auto this time, the Mrs decided she want to learn to drive in an auto, so I set about looking for a decent cheap auto for her, she told me to find something cheap, reliable that wasn't a Honda, Civic, or Accord:)
So naturally I opted for a Civic, much to her bemusement
paid £500, 100k, full service history including a cambelt change a while back
Seems to drive ok, changes gear fine etc
Brakes are questionable questionable, and pulls to the left Abit, rocker gasket has a nasty leak too, all simple stuff to rectify really
Already chucked on a mgzs spoiler I had in the shed, and have a set of alloys to go on
Quick pic of her at the mo

Thanks mate, yeah I understand it might be a little flat till it's run in
Picking up Wednesday morning so looking forward to it
Must admit I'm liking the dab headunit aswell, what's the reception like on yours?
I had an aftermarket dab radio and it was horrendous
-
Ive got a White one of these on Motability and its a cracking car, although i got slaughtered for putting a picture of it on here!.
What's it like to live with mate? I'm worried that I'm stuck with it for 3 years and I don't like it
You can't really get a good feel with a 20 minute test drive
Did feel mighty nippy though, quicker than the Mazda but might have just been the torque
-
Very nice, the 5 was my first choice when I was shopping for a 7 seater
Just couldn't find one in the price and spec I wanted
-
I'm wondering if it being essentially brown will it affect resale values?
-
Thanks mate, the dealer didn't have any full cars in that colour, just a wing mirror size sample
-
Yeah that was my first thought
I'm starting to wish I'd went for carbon black tbh
There wasint a very good choice of colour tbh. Red, white, 3 Shades of silver, a baby blue and funny green and carbon black

Gave the M a good look over this afternoon and it's a canny mess, even a nasty dent on the top of the wing
Thinking about just replacing the bonnet and wings and trying to pull the dents on the roof and rear quarters
I'll upload a couple of photos tomorrow to get people's opinion on what to do:)
If I went through insurance I'm fairly sure it would be written off:(
