  1. its undergoing a turbo conversion.and im having clearance issues with the top mount turbo to clearance of the pump.i know it will be heavier but it wont jerk as much and get loose at high speeds.also cant mount the aux cambelt tensioner which sits in the original power steering pump mounts to stop the cambelt flexing as much.and yes fella ive heard about looping the system.which also means i would be removing the restricter washers that let fluid pass through the rack under pressure.by doing this it does make it a bit lighter to turn as its not so restrictive.theres also another theory of having a reservior with power steering fluid in it with two pipes to the rack and letting the fluid rise and fall as the rack is turned.(gravity fed basicly)thats a bit of work thats why im after a non power steering one to swap straight in.

  2. Hi guys..

as im aware the p9k ecu is of the obd2 type with obd1 style plugs. so what is the actual wiring type of the mb6 as there is a few variations obd2a etc.i think its obd2a but im not sure..im after running an AEM series 2 EMS but obviously theres options of what one to get ob1 obd2 etc..so wich one do i get considering the standard ecu is basicly the 2types of wiring.any help would be appriciated.

  3. i aint touched it yet fella  i aint even attempted it..yea i know a bit of how they work and what they incorperate but not enough to start rippin it apart without knowing what can be done and removed without finding out about it before hand.

Theres no doubt in my mind that its got a control module lurkin about the car for the alarm but i cant imagine the alarm being wired into the ecu???the immobiliser i can understand that being wired into the ecu..

but as i said the alarm isnt active and the immobiliser is and the central locking is when turning key in door.so they must be seperate?

  4. allrite fellas..mb6 vti comes with an alarm as an optional extra..ive neva had mine conected since i bought my mota but its there.i have no key fob i just lock it via the key in the door method.it has central locking obviously and ive just got hold of a toad alarm for it with fob.what i wana know is if the alarm is wired into the immobiliser as a whole or if they are stand alone units?as the alarm is an extra and i have neva used a fob to lock the car so i dont know if me taking just the old alarm system out will involve messin up the imobiliser. as i want to take the original alarm system out to make way for the toad system.wats the point in avin it there as a dead weight in other words.and no im not guna attempt to wire it up myself  its jus prep basicly before i give it to the specialists

  5. I see wat ur sayin mate.i read two diff things..then again went back to seing them as two diff diffs.theres too many opionions from loads of people.what to buy?..like i said previous the plated diff is specified as torsen..and they aint specified a plated helical???unless the plated one covers both but just fails to mention it for helical description aswell.. :?[postpics.gif]

  6. yea i see that spec sheet andrew..but on the wiki site its a torsen diff. and thats sayin helical and if you read up about the s9b it says its a torsen diff aswell s80 box comes with helical and the s9b with torsen..thats jus wat ive heard and read fella.i aint 100 percent?

  7. allrite guys..what is the difference between the helical lsd in the s80 teg box and the torsen in the s9b civic box?im after a new diff(M factory) theres a couple available for a hefty price and on 1 item description is helical slip diff (hydrolic) and a metal plate slip diff which is the torsen.the torsen being the more expensive of the 2 but doesn`t specify if its for hydrolic box like the helical 1 does.the s9b is hydrolic aswell but only specified for the helical diff on the website.wat i wana know is will it matter if i use helical or torsen..what are the differences and will they both fit the s9b box? :?

  8. oh really..ive got a bit of knowledge about them but as you can probs understand im hearing so many different things about all this..so cheers for pointin that out fella..i didnt wana go buying stuff for a diff spec engine as that dnt make sense to me but i stand corrected :) ive read it but theres so much diff speculation about it..n i dont wana be blowin thousands on parts that are wrong..too cautious u could say.so the b18 a b18 b and c are all the same?or do you mean the b18c itself found in the type r tegs?again sorry for all the questions but sounds like u know wat ur talkin about ;)

  9. Hi guys..im going to be stripping my vti B18C4 over the next year for a turbo conversion :) ive read alot into it n im forging the bottom end (pistons/rods maybe even the crank) i know im looking for a reliable 400bhp when im done..i aint got a clue were to look for sleeves/lo comp pistons driveshafts clutches intake manifolds turbo injectors cams valves etc etc..dont get me wrong theres alot kickin about but non that seem to claim there capable of handling the power for a c4 engine.as i want a propa build not just a bodge job..all other sundries like fuel rail..pump and all other stuff is easy to get hold of.jus the others listed above..its a big ask but has anyone got any ideas or links of who can point me in the right direction with parts and compresion ratios etc etc..????thanks
