Few new photo's of the VTi all clean and polished

Although not a fan fo that intake would reset the ecu if not already
Don't see the problem with the intake? Shall I fit the rubber one and have another filter on the end lol?!
-
Good base! Whats up with the airco ? Was the pump stuck ?
Cheers
To be honest, no idea! The belt didn't look in the best of health though!

Great start to a good looking car.
Surprised you went for the ebay spec intake, I have read somewhere on here that they loose BHPs
I know how you feel loosing cars to buy houses
Noticed you have clear side repeaters too, they are not standard
loose bhp lol? Intake is pretty much same as standard apart from the filter? Not bothered though as makes epic noise on crossover and in vtec

If anyone wants me to show photos of where they think it may of rusted out feel free as I haven't seen any yet and mentioned nothing on the MOT last month
i think the main areas for rust for you to check would be behind the side skirts and underneath the arches thats the main areas that i know, and maybe check underneath the passenger footwell carpet, as that is a common place for water to build up
I'll take a look under the carpet when I get a chance but the arches and sills are all good
Cheers

no thats fair enough chris , the car looks stunning and tbh the aircon belt snap(minor issue) well tbh in the 4 years ive owned the v6 i never used the aircon lol ...thats what a window is for lol
Maybe the water came from a rubber from the boot somewhere.
tbh mate i will looking for either 1 vti /vtis mb6 in the next few month but i may have to travel for mine ...
I wasn't too fussed about the belt, as I used the air con on the way home and worked perfectly but was only for testing purposes as air con has always used more fuel in my previous cars! May remove all the air con at some point not sure yet, either way a belt is only around £4.00 !
I adjusted the boot striking rubbers as they were wound all the way out and the boot does sit tighter now

sorry mate , i was looking at the pictures you posted up and i was just wondering did you 100% check the car over first or not, its just in hindsight everytime ive bought a car and checked everything before parting with cash .Tbh if i saw water in the boot like that i would of said nah theres something not right there .i see this one on autotrader a few weeks ago and it looked a bargain but this would of rang alarm bells for me but failing that i hope you get it done just as you want it.
also whats the hole under the petrol filler ?
I didn't check under the spare wheel well but looked at the boot floor etc, hard to find a cheap car now days so good car for the price. I've just been used to spend 4-5k on cars previously and spending good money keeping them good and tastefully spec'd up etc
The hole under the filler neck is just a drain hole. If anyone wants me to show photos of where they think it may of rusted out feel free as I haven't seen any yet and mentioned nothing on the MOT last month

dont over look the water in the boot, thats a leak some where and will cause rust if not allready
Hi James
I have been checking the boot wheel well since this finding, everytime ive washed it and its been raining long term and all seems fine so far. No water. The car was stood up for 6-12 months approx before I got it, obviously didn't do it much good as needed a really good valet and obviously the belt for the air con didnt survive lol.
Thinking about cam belt now.. something to bare in mind? D.I.Y. perhaps ?!

Car looks mint & that's some collection of cleaning product you have there, I take it you like the Meguiars then.
Certainly used to be quite dedicated with my cleaning products! But seeing the weather outside, kind of disheartens it a little but as ruins all the hard work

I was looking at buying this one as well, what other plans do you have for it?
Ha ! Cheers dude
Currently wanting a set of Sprint SW98 wheels, coilovers, red rear H badge, 'JDM' look rear lights like the electrical section, set of spare headlights to black paint, some OE side repeaters as mine are crystal or something, look into what badges the boot needs (love the look of the VTi-S set up but mine isn't one so refuse to), the rest will come with time...
Just haven't got the cash available tbh !
-
looking good but id blank out ur number plate's first 3 digits after the W, do the thread title too, people can find cars thru plates
I would be quite honoured if someone put themselves out to come and find it lol
Cars mostly garaged any how but thanks for the concern dude

If you want red rear h badge its diy cause the never made a tyre r version! so like me you gota paint it. Anyway your VTi looking good mate, good base car to start with!
I have seen newer style rear boot badges fitted from looking at a few pictures on here?
Damn, should of repainted it red again then not black guessing the previous owner wanted the "Type R" look as well ?!

Hello
New to jap / Honda so do not really have a great knowledge about this car yet, infact, I only actually bought it as it fell in my criteria of under £1500 budget, as I'm moving into my first property soon so needed to free up some cash after selling my Audi S3 Quattro
So...
Only 20 minute drive away from me
12 Months MOT
New windscreen
New Discs and Pads all round
New rear bushes (can't remember which lol)
Just serviced at Honda (His dad worked there)
2 Recent Tyres
All the handbooks / wallet / receipts
Pictures from the for sale advert:
Did a quick txt-check / HPi
Collected a day or so later
Next, turning on the air con which resulted in a lot of smoking and noise then found this ...
Any how... lol, decided to give the car a 'once over' and removed the castle sticker or whatever it was on the boot
Also noticed red springs!
And found this
And these ...
Drove it around for a while
The car was very quiet and I really wanted to hear the vtec crossover so got this bargain off ebay for just shy of £30 delivered (have a video somewhere)
Finally, as my boot badge was pink, decided to paint it black while my new replacements arrived, they did arrive, and didn't fit can you buy badges for these in red or is it a D.I.Y. job?
Not sure i'll be keeping all the badges off or not yet
Thanks for reading !
Comments / Help welcome

Only had it a couple of weeks now...
Seeming it is mean't to be a car I'm not going to spend cash on...
98 Spec ITR Wheels
Coilovers
Black all the chrome bar the H grill badge
New Number plates
Want a nicer looking but NOT loud backbox ?
Use some of my lamin-x for the fogs
Smoked headlights
Some electrical changes to the front/rear lights
Or.. try and do nothing and save the cash lol...

All I can think of is that because it was sat for a while?!
I adjusted the the boot rubber stops and after I washed it there was nothing, but before I had a couple of drips! Boot looked almost open before but seals nice now
Sunroof is also very dry with no leaks
