slosei
hi got the p73 ecu in today and the car wont start there is no spark, the fault code 15-Ignition Output Signal missing or defective ignition output signal.and 20- Electrical Load Detector defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor but with the old ecu there is no problems, im using an obd1 to obd2 jumper harness which came out from a running car any ideas??Zak
megamitzmb6
you have the wrong ecu mate, iirc you can use a p72 (teg si) or a p28 both of which need a wee bit of messing around to get the iab working properly.
Moe
P73 wont work because of the built in immobiliser, your car doesnt have an ELD therefore that code wont clear. a P28 ecu will not have IAB control therefore wont work. you will need to get a P72 ecu and have it chipped and mapped so it doesnt detect the ELD. BTW you didnt need the obd2 to obd1 plug converter. a modification to your own plugs wouldve been sufficent

Moe
you can use a p28 with your car with no problems, you just wont have the iab function
slosei
its a jdm itr ecu so from what i been told it dont have key code thingythe manifold is having the butterflys removed so dont need to control them, and the p73 ecu is obd2a and the mb6 ecu can take an obd1 ecu if you shave off two end clips on the blue plug,is it down to the cars immobilizer its not starting then? Moe
oh my mistake. could be an immobiliser problem with the ecu. theres a chip available from the states that can remove the immobilisers cant remember which site, even if you got hold of it you would still have the eld problem which can only be removed through chipping
slosei
its ok mate, whats the eld?to be honest i just want to see how the car runs just with this ecu no harm in trying imo, if it goes pop, it goes pop
Moe
ELD is the electronic load detector, it detects an electrical load and adjusts the idle etc, it comes part of the fusebox so no way out
