johngreen537
Bolts straight on mate. I'm guessing it's the one from Josh, I wrapped that. The Standard DC2 bolts are there, but it also has a secondary hole which looked like it married up to the MB6 boot holes!

johngreen537
lol, I never got round to fitting it as I crashed my car on the way home from collecting it.You'll see another hole on the bit that goes to the boot when you take the wrap off.Use some 3m double side foam tape on the bit that goes into contact with the boot, just to cushion it lisghtly and save the paint on the boot
belfastlad123
so does the bolts on the spoiler match up with the holes that have to be drilled ??
johngreen537
When I looked at the bolts on the spoiler, they looked about right for MB6. DC2 spoiler had 3 bolt holes, the 3rd hole looked like correct fitment for MB. DaveMB2 has one on his car, may be worth reading his project thread to see if he mentioned how it fit.. D15
I fitted one recently to my MB3. Mine only had the rear most studs on the spoiler, the middle ones were half rusted away so I just ground them off with a bench grinder. If you pop your boot open, and look just at the edge you should see two holes in the boot frame, with the solid skin over the top. I thought I could just drill these two holes out, pop the spoiler in and glue it all on. No no, the holes ended up being too far forward meaning the leading edge of the spoiler was hitting the seals of the rear window!Using a hole saw, I gradually cut the holes further back untill the spoiler sat in the holes without resting on the window seal. Then I held the wing in place with some masking tape and masked the boot around the spoiler. Then cover the bottom of the spoiler with Sikaflex black (£8 from screwfix) and put it on the car. Use some masking tape to apply some pressure to the spoiler and leave it for 2 days. So far I've had mine to 85 with no signs of the spoiler flying off I didnt know it was supposed to have 3 bolts per side, my one only had 1 1/2! oh well. The Sikaflex does the job! belfastlad123
so i just have to make my own holes for the bolts then .shouldnt be to hard then if i do buy it ill bolt it on and a few blobs of tiger seal itll go nowhere lol
D15
Yea pretty much. As I say just drill thru the skin where the little holes in the boot frame are, offer up the wing and go from there with extending the holes back. I used a 'drill saw' for this, not a hole saw as I said previously. Its just a £5 job from homebase but does the job fantastically. Obviously make sure you cover the drilled holes in the sealant to stop any rust, and as long as the sealant stays permanently elastic you will be fine. If it dries hard then it will probably crack etc.
