d16b2 remap

the ecu should be under your passenger side, take it out and have a look of the sticker. it should state whether it's p1k-e63 or e61 if it's stock. Or perhaps already changed by previous owner so it maybe p06/p28/p30 etc.

depends on which ecu you currently have, the remap/chip routes will be different.

and mind asking what mods you got at the moment or you're planning to do?

to be honest, unless you're going to do some engine modifications, i do not recommend remap/chip your ecu.

stock ecu is a obd2 with obd1 socket. there are so many things you have to mess about with the wiring + ££ before you can even tune your ecu, or actually you need to replace with an obd1 ecu for easier tuning (mean extra ££ again)

but, if you've already got an obd1 ecu, that may make more sense.

let us know what ecu you're running and we can share some views.

i'll try and find out and let u know

just was talking to a guy and he said i'd get more power and better fuel ?

but thinking about it i'll do the exhaust and induction kit and leave it there for now plus i'm fitting the mg shocks and arb soon but looking for a nice mc2 to play about with

yes the guy's right you can get more power and better fuel. but you have to judge if it's worth by the money you spend (and the real benefit you can get).

mc2 vti will be a good all rounder in stock form (but fuel not so good tbh).

keep us posted and enjoy the mods! :D:D

I don't understand why people think remapping is really expensive. i got my obd1 ECU chipped it myself and tuned my own map for less then £100 and its running great. Visit pgmfi.org for more info

yes i agree and only if you know what you are doing, buying the obd1 ecu, road tune, edit the map and burn the chips etc.

if not the case, you need to get someone to do it, hence the price.
