Hi, I'm running a 1.8 VTi Aerodeck (X reg, 2000) that has done 130,000miles. I have started hearing con-rod bearing noise for the last couple of thousand miles, and am after a thicker than standard oil to quieten the engine down and try and reduce wear as much as possible. I changed my oil to Fuchs Titan 5W-40 at the last change (bought from OPIE) and it made no difference to the noise. I'm trying to avoid a bottom end rebuild as I want to sell the car on soon. Could you recommend a thicker grade of oil for this mileage engine? Thanks, Malcolm
