  1. Watched a couple of vids on Youtube last night and they took the starter motor off. The workshop manual doesn't say you need to but will try that just in case. And then hope it comes off!!
  2. Looking for some help. In the process of removing my gearbox (1.8 VTi) to replace the clutch. I'm following the workshop manual, and have everything off or undone and have got to the point of removal, where it says "pull away and lower". It doesn't want to come off! I can get it to separate at the front to about 8mm. But cannot get any separation at the back. I've rechecked (several times) that I have removed all the bolts (and had someone else check). I've tried persuading it with pry bars and with a piece of wood and lump hammer, and cannot get it apart. Anyone got any tips? Am I doing something wrong? Need to get it sorted tomorrow so I can get to work on Monday. Cheers, Adam.
  3. Have fault coded my ABS fault to being 11. So Front Right issue. In the workshop manual it explains how to test the resistance to determine where the fault may lie across pins on the connector to the ABS Modulator. Anyone know how to get the connector off? It's pretty awkward to get hands to, but even so, I couldn't see how to get it off. Doesn't come off with a gentle pull upwards, but can't really see if it's got any clips, or should come off in a different direction. Probably just need to bite the bullet and order a new sensor, but would like to run the diagnostics if I can.
  4. Ok, not the answer i was hoping for given the price of new sensors. Anyone know any cheap (ish) source for sensors?
  5. Hey Guys, Have a fault on the ABS at the moment, light is permanently on (went through a period of being intermittent...). MOT is due soon, so wondering whether it's an MOT failure to have a fault on ABS? e.g. if you have ABS, does it have to be in working condition? If so, then i'll have to try and sort it out pronto, if not it can wait for a couple of weeks (or at least till it stops raining!! ). Cheers, Adam.
