Any photos of the civic5 stand at Japfest this weekend chaps?
Chandler replied to Dave's topic in Chat Lounge
Ha ha well done Dave! You at all the shows next year now -
wheel sensor rear left. if you look through the video again mate, the first flash is a long one, the next 7 are faster. first long flash indicates 10, the next faster flashes indicates 1, put them together and you get 17 as you had 8 flashes all together. 1 long flash and 7 shorter flashes

ye there's a few things it could be, your filter might be blocked. whats the millage on it? serviced regular? exhaust rattle will be fine mate, i had mine rattle all the time and keep scraping it. the solenoid is pretty easy to take off, usually 3 bolts and its off with a rubber seal and a mesh part inside which is the filter. if the car isn't regularly serviced it could block it up so you are not letting vtec kick in as it should. it could be one of the sensors on it or the piston.

you may have done the spark plugs, but may be worth doing a proper service on it mate, so plugs, oil and filter, fuel filter would help and a new air filter. once they've been done see how it feels. regarding the steering, check your powersteering fluid level and belt is on tight etc. i have changed valve stem seals on my D16 but its still smoking, so could try the seals, and yes head needs to come off. make sure you either get honda seals or a good brand, there is 2 different ones, ones for exhaust side and ones for inlet side which i eventually found out when i did them again! my gear box sometimes crunches aswel, but i have an uprated clutch and flywheel. maybe worth doing a gearbox oil change but use honda fluids. try the simple things first and go from there. the idle might be having a play with the timing so play about with the dizzy and find a happy medium hope this helps
