  1. interested enough to put your name down? (if so, we are not far off the 10 needed)
  2. Name added to list. company who will make is ricky evans motorsport. we need a minimum order of 10 to get this going, just need a few more names to get this off the ground. These are perfect for track or race cars with no heater/fans/aircon. But equally as good for any standard road car. If you have never had (probably the only?) the pleasure of a ford heated windscreen (or others) on an icy day, and being able to drive away with a clear screen inside a minute or two - rather than waiting 5-10 minutes - then you have no idea how great these things really are. negligible difference in cost between stock and these heated screens, they are a great move forward. people spend more money on stereo's than this, I can't believe more people aren't interested?!?!? this would be the first civic 5 with a heated screen ever?
  3. they are 195+vat plus delivery. or collect from tamworth area. wiring diagram on their website link above, about 20-30amps, but because they are so effective, they are not on for long.
  4. I am sure a wiring kit could be put together with terminated ends and measured lengths of cable, along with relays etc to make things easy for a competent diyer. Would need help from a willing civic owner in midlands/derby area as I don't own a civic.
  5. in the same way the ford (and associate companies - land rover etc) are heated, with really thin wires in the screen, but so thin you can hardly see them. The ford screens will melt ice in minutes, and usually clear steamy/condensation in about minute. wiring here http://www.heatedwindscreen.com/acatalo ... tails.html, pretty straight forward job, probably use a standard fit button and re-label/picture for front screen, perhaps a button similar to rear screen? this is also the company that would manufacture and supply.
  6. they are 195+vat assuming a minimum order of 10 is achieved. (this is base cost, no-one is making a penny mark-up on this!) they have never been produced before, hence 10 being required. The company is in tamworth, so either collection from there or they can courier to you. (I may look at delivering them if a sensible route can be planned to drop off to people in a day) the price does not include fitting. they are a 2 circuit heated screen.
  7. Just a quick question, is the civic windscreen the same as the MGZS/rover 45 screen. The cars seem identical in the major structural area and even doors. Only reason I ask, is over on the ZS forum we are looking at getting heated (& tinted like the standard ones) screens made up, so I just wondered if they would fit the civic 5 to try and get the numbers together.
  8. First off, this is just at idea stage, it is not a commercial venture nor is it presently for sale. I have purchased a pair of accord type r calipers, these fit direct to the MGZS and Civic with 262/282 front brakes. The big problem is finding some 300mm discs that fit properly, and that are 28mm wide like the calipers were designed for. And doing this without dangerous spacers, washers, shims or bodges. The answer seems to lye in getting the correct disc that is a perfect fit. I am looking into the possibility of getting the discs made up from a blank casting - so the end product will not be redrilled, not need spacers or shims or spigott rings, it would simply be a 300mm disc, 28mm wide that would fit correctly and without modification. These would be (subject to final agreement) manufactured by the same company that made the discs for rover MG, Brembo, EBC and others, so of tier 1 quality. So you could use this 300mm disc, accord type r calipers and pads and have a complete 300mm atr type brake setup that fits without any mods - under 16" rims tho. Question is, would this be of interest to anyone (the custom discs that is), or should I not even bother going down this road?
  9. don't know much about legend calipers, but I do know accord type r calipers bolts straight on, but you need a 300mm brake disc. I am looking into getting some made up from blank castings of a mercedes 300mm 28mm wide disc which has the correct height for this conversion. It would then be machined from a blank with 4x100 pcd with correct centre bore, retaining holes etc which will fit the 4x100 civics and mg's. Not confirmed yet, but if the company agrees to do a run of discs then its a cheap 300mm brake upgrade using atr calipers.
