Hey folks looking to solve an issue which ive always had on my mb6 which is now starting to bug me. Car is very difficult to change gears and seems to get worse when hot/after hard drive but can still be a nightmare when out on a normal day out. Had previously been suggested because shifter bush is polly but chap who made my exhaust said that hes dealt with many cars with the same bush pollied and said it should only really take up the slack not make gear changes a nightmare. He thought possibly clutch, but clutch was in about a month after exhaust and theirs no difference at all. The bearing in the short shifter was mentioned along with gearbox issues. Anybody here experienced this or have any knowledge to which direction to go. Dont want to be splashing crazy money on a box and fitment when it may not solve the issue. Many thanks

I got a custom build from simons custom exhaust in East Kilbride. Great knowledge of air flow etc and delivered exactly what i wanted, eliminate rasp and give a more powerful sporty tone. £320 it cost and cant fault it at all. Have also used Billy at Complete Auto Solutions. Another great guy who is very OCD.

Could someone just double conform which ones I should need so I can pop a cheeky little order in http://www.tegiwaimports.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=eg+engine+mounts+tegiwa
-
Another update. Couldn't move via hand or idling and giving throttle but by sitting with handbrake on trying to pull off significant movement and a lot of scraping from drivers side over bumps
-
It does seem difficult to move by hand though? However from what I've read a lot of symptoms point to mount, regarding vibrations etc.
-
That's great thanks, maybe stupid question but how would I know of their torn? Never really had to look at them before. I'll go check tegiwa and see what this is going to sting me lol

It's lower at the front that back running on koni sport shocks with lowering springs. Any idea where to source mounts and the cost, couldn't find any through Google. Also would guy have had that one off to do clutch or is it maybe just coincidence that it's gone now? Once that's sorted Def need to do height as manifold sump etc all been whacked

Just a little update from this after having a mechanic at the place I work have a little look. Before clutch went in manifold was always hitting which is normal but their was other bits which could be related but I'm not clued up to say for Def but little things like vibrations coming through floorwell at low revs after eliminating balancing etc. Now on the ramp whilst someone was under, engaged clutch as if we're going to drive off and the engine had severe rock. Really did have some amount of movement. Not sure what mechanic could have done whilst changing clutch but if their was movement before it's a hell of a lot worse now. So that leads us to mounts. Which one should I look to replace, if not all? If so how much roughly would this cost? Whatever is causing it anyway whether it's mount or not my car hits everything on minor bumps now and hear my undertray getting hit from I'm presuming manifold. Getting over small ramp at work etc now is all worse. Any input would be great but I am led to believe previous owners had trouble with mounts on this and had to change some of not all prior to my ownership but that would have been a few years back

That's great I'll go a gentle Sunday drive tonight and pop a hundred or so more miles on it. Guessing may get better as beds in

Around 30 tops lol. However I'm around 60% sure the rattle through gear knob happens in neutral. Tried this morning but chap behind looked a tad p**sed off so let off a little. Will double check that later but still isn't great trying to pull away with just clutch and no revs.
-
On the move it seems okay. Hard to describe the noise almost like metallic. I'd expect the noise of something was maybe resting on the exhaust and shooting up through linkage into gearstick. Only happens high revs though. Driving low revs normal driving don't notice any vibrations or noises through gear stick
-
Only hit the revs that once just to test out soon as it done it backed off. So far Def not judder, soon as throttles applied goes off normal. Pedal all seems okay to me and biting point nice and low. Maybe worthwhile giving a few miles to see? Any idea on gearstick vibration?

hey folks got a couple of niggles since having clutch done, was a genuine honda clutch from H-tune. When trying to take off if i dont use any throttle theirs a little vibration, not clutch judder, just vibration and something makes a noise if loose? Also at around 7.5k revs my metal gear knob has a hell of a rattle and vibration through it. What could these be and could they be linked? Cant really take back to garage as guy said theirs no come back since i suplied clutch which is what most do round here now. Besides that car seems to drive fine so hoping its minor niggly thing.

Standard springs wouldn't be that expensive so could definitely be worth a look in. Heard so many lowering springs dump the front of these to the floor and that fully adjustable seems to be the way to go. I'll load laptop up and have a look as mobile runs slow as on forums and thanks so far to everyone's advice and help
