  1. Testing iabs stationary and it operates works. But when driving no noticeable change in note at all. Vtec crossover is there at 4.5k so I have no idea...
  2. done a bit of googling and still confused... was on a bit of a motorway run today. vtec kicks in about4.5k grand bit of pull but mostly just engine note change. big thing is i dont get the wooooosh feeling at 6k when IABs should open. got home pulled off the vac line off the IAB diaphram and plugged it. went for a spin. by god it sound like an anti christ now but still not a massive pull off vtec. any ideas what could be causing this??? Nurburg Ring in 9 weeks so starting to sort out all my gremlins and this popped up today...
  3. was thinking android but like you guys said it doesnt run the best. i have most of my bits there bar the 7" touchscreen. so just waiting on that now and i will be installing it. also doing a few mods on the dash lighting as its pants at the moment. cant see any of the needles at night. so once i get things up and running i will take pics of the complete setup.

    Pi is going in the boot. Have too many bits to go with it... When I get it up and running I will post results. Just waiting on my soundcard and a few other bits to do trial runs... Then I need to get a screen.

    ABS Light on

    Right I reset ECU the other day. Car feels like a new car since. Feels more responsive out of vtec. Only problem is if I go over 65mph the abs and brake light come up on the dash. Just wondering how do I check the fault codes on an aerodeck. And anyone any ideas on the fault issue....

    Centre Console

    i am in the process of putting together a car pc based around a raspberry pi and need it ideally covering the clock and ac vents in the centre. i was just wondering if it would be possible to swap out another centre console and do a few "minor" alterations to make it fit... going to house the brains where the old cd changer is and then just have screen up front and amps under boot floor on new boot floor.

    had a feeling that was going to be the case... any idea of a jap civic with "similar" centre console... mainly just radio and air controls... i guess i am gonna have to start taking picture of all the work. be a nice build thread... have done a few cosmetic bits over christmas...

Just wondering if it is possible to use a raspberryPI to hook into the ecu of a civic aerodeck to pick up realtime info from from the ecu like rpm and oil pressure and such to use the PI as a kind of realtime display of what's going on in the engine bay... I am in the process of binning the stock radio and fitting the pi as a media centre. So if anyone knows if I can get a double din centre console I would appreciate it. And if anyone happens to know of any software to interpret the obd2 data.
  11. took about 45 - 60 mins per wheel... i need to go over with finer sand paper, reckon i can get an even better finish... i just need to find out if i can take the studs from a lenso wheel...
  12. Monday was a hangover for me... bank holiday here... have to do it one evening this week... anyone able to recommend a good metal polish...
  13. bit of a diy job but putting it on a 4 post ramp and running it in gear with sand paper sounds like my plan for monday... several different grades of paper and a bit of metal polish should be grand... lets see how it turns out...
  14. how would one go about removing this: can i sand this down and just re-lacquer or is it not as simple as that.... just want to clean the wheels up till i can get them done professionally or do i just spray them black???
  15. do it once and do it right With 37 decent ramps between mine and my parents it get expensive... the bmw went through 2 sets in 18 months...

  18. lads did holy head to the accommodation near the ring in about 10 or 11 hours driving... they kept a healthy pace through the uk and europe though... another question, can i in theory run a set of 16's on the front say 205/55 and my normal 17's on the rear 215/40?? or do i keep same size wheels front and back...
  19. yeah the lads all went in april.. 2 of the cars are from the north... so its dublin - holyhead, 6.5hrs across the uk, into the tunnel the 4 hrs in europe... the m5's were getting about 22mpg... 335i was getting close to 30mpg and Lexus ISF did 35mpg... so lets see how it goes... there is usually a lot of serious machines brought over...

  21. right went to get more prices... front eibach disc and redstuff pads €230... 40mm lowering springs €160 de-cat €40 exhaust manifold €160 skunk2 intake manifold €290 so not much change out of a grand... would it be worth changing the rear disc as well??? and trying to find a breaker with mgzs ARB...
  22. there is a fuel pot so not too bad... will be m5's, an ISF, holden, 335i, golf gti already signed up... about 18 to 20 people going...
  23. This with a full exhaust system and some better wheels. A full service is a must, new oil, plugs, filters etc.. was thinking at service performance denso plugs, full service kit and what i need to know is what year mgzs can i get bits from... i am new to the honda scene... my last toy was this: so i just want to make a complete shopping list and start chipping away at it... 2.5" exhaust or 3"... wont ever be going down the turbo route so looking for best setup...
  24. current spring setup is cut stock springs..... a mate of mine owns icetronix.com and he has a set of 40mm lower spirngs knocking about that have been on display so its a case of mates rates... cant remember the name off hand... and what year mgzs do i need to find to get bits from... and what bits will swap straight over??? is it worth changing the intake and exhaust manifolds and exhaust??? or is that going down the re-map route??
