Got it started last weekend, was just very very damp, running like a dream again
-
Really need one mb6, rotor arm seized on, bottom bolt sheared off on cap, damp has got it, losing the will to live not being able to drive it, anyone?
-
How long is a bit? Enough for a fan to spin to a stop? A second for a manifold heat shield? If its a rotating part and you've stopped the engine it has to be electrical, air con recirc motor (dunno if they have them behind dash like others
-
Thanks, been 6 years since I worked there last, got all the tools for removing chips and installing sockets lol
-
It's having the time to do it now, just started my new job this week, work for alstom, used to be gec, back in the electronics game again, soldering, could come in handy
-
Cheers for info, got a mate with some bits he's dropping off to me, complete dizzy an map sensor, I'm thinking fuel filter too cos filled it with a can that had bits in it, stupidly of me
-
Dizzy cap and rotor arm look new ish but only 2 bolts holding it on, damp maybe? Where's the fuel filter as they hardly ever get changed on petrol cars so its probably on its original??!! Leads are good as it ran fine before it stood for a couple of weeks, might drop the tank off and drain it of all the crap that's probably sitting in the bottom
-
It'll turn over but won't start, I've had dizzy cap off and cleaned all the contacts, got it to start, ticks overfine but backfires like flippin anti lag, will run fine apart from initial press of the throttle, once its spluttered past that its ok, will rev all the way round to redline but low revs its struggling big time, then this morning refused to start again. I'm thinking lambda, rotor arm, plug leads as a start, any help appreciated
-
I've been told wrong then lol sorry for that
-
And above 4k revs it doesn't use o2 sensor I've been told?
-
It's not the part throttle misfire that the lambda sensor causes, always from cold, mine does it, if you take your foot off and put it back on again harder does ot still do it?
-
Got mine free off my mate for taking it out of his car when he sold it, when I get time I'll fit it an get piccys or a video done
-
Company cars usually have them, one of the only legal ways to use a phone while driving without having a dipstick in your lug hole hahaha they sync with your address book on your phone and display the callers name when they ring, can have your phone in your pocket etc and it works ace, no sim card, no ugly holder and no fines from the coppers lol
-
Anyone fitted one, got a spare one and going to fit to my mb6, used to fit them in my auto electrician days, just thought I'd ask
-
It was meant as a joke lol if you can't buy something off eBay or amazon its not worth having unless its regiwa, which is just down the road from me
-
^^^^^^^^^^^ I've found this ace website, http://www.eBay.co.UK lol

Don't think I'd do the roof due to sunroof, just don't think it'd look right, looks really good though on a bonnet an grill
-
Cheers!!!! So I'm guessing usual work from centre out, 3d stuff looks pretty damn good, would have to do my grill too, badge is done but obviously done by a one armed blind man, I'd prob do badge as you've done it, looks good. Or plan b, take the cat and have his front legs amputated so he can't get on the car lol
-
Anyone had any success doing it themself with it being a large area, also, which sort have people used, there is gloss and 3d textured stuff on eBay, I like the textured stuff cos it looks more realistic but not sure about such a large area, only thinking of doing it cos I can clean the car and within minutes the cat is on the bonnet with muddy paw prints, I've done window tints before and presume its just a little harder with not being a flat surface as such, any experience let me know
-
Ahhhhh you wouldn't believe how much time I've spent trying to get it to work, I'm putting it down to the fact I haven't got a factory 16 pin and using 5-16 adaptor
-
Would it be wrong to say excuse the dirt and it needs a good wipe?? Hahaha
-
That's the hole ready anyway
-
Managed to get a minute an have a look at the car between the rain showers an drivers side has a hole cut behind it for cold air intake kinda thing an it has the original fog lamp surround so if I get them might fit trumpet feed and just blank the passenger side.
