  1. Thanx I will take a look next weekend and strip the front back to the driveshafts and see whats a miss, if nothing is suspect i'll replace the subframe. Have seen 10000rpm's braking a few civics, so hopefully he will have one knocking about. Thanks for the advice... Rolley
  2. Its not the best start but I will get it sorted! I knew the car would be a struggle to get back on the road, been off and SORN'd for 4 years by a friend who had all the intentions of getting it back on the road but then bought a house and gave it to me. Considering it was off the road for 4 years all it failed on was the handbrake, which was a seized caliper... Anyways... Will strip both fronts down see if something is a miss, in the meantime does anyone know if the MG ZS subframe is the same? reason why I ask is that I can pick up a new one from ebay for less than £50 and for piece of mind it might just be worth the hassle of changing it. Thanks in advance
  3. Hey guys and girls First thing hi, I am new to the forum and this being my first post thought I would say hi! I own a honda civic vti-s and the plan is to strip it and run it as a toy and try and put in a few track days, however I need the car to be running right. So far its been an entertaining few months with the car getting it back on the road. However its now running taxed mot'd and insured so took it for a blast to discover its handling is a bit worse for wear. Up front my drivers side is in negative camber which (not had it tested) seems fine to me! Negative camber being better than positive, which so happens to be what my passengers side wheel is doing. Also from floor to wheel arch on the drivers side is 62 cm but on the passengers it's 64 cm :-/ Now the car has a bit of history, and it looks obvious that the passenger side has been hit at one time or another. I've pulled the suspension out initially thinking the ride height difference could be the spring maybe being replaced in the past with a much firmer spring for something else possibly MG derv, the coloured spots on the spring are purple and green, what are they meant to be? If not purple and green! I looked at the bushes and all seem sound (I know you can't always tell), lca looks ok wishbone seems ok but again I wouldn't really know. Does or has anyone had similar problems? What was it in the end? What should I look for? Could the track rod ends affect the camber? My understanding is they mainly affect toe... So not look at that just yet based on that but I could be wrong? A friend has suggested that the subframe might be to blame? (Especially as it has been in an accident in the past) Any suggestions? At a bit of a loss because this could turn out to be an expensive fix if I just start replacing parts and it doesnt actually work so any feedback is welcome Thanks in advance
