  1. Nope not a simple plug and play but with a slight modification to the pins internally you can restore vtec and the iab's. It does run the car but without the pin bridge it has a rev limit of 6800rpm and no vtec+iab's it really does make a difference though! Its a little more juicy and i have been told only to run it on high end fuel but personally i think its well worth it!
  2. Ok quick update! Ecu bridged and plugged in! What a difference. It has totally transfered the car! Thanks for all your help giys and i would reccommend this to anyone!!
  3. Ok so as you can see from pics its 100% a p72 obd1. Looks as though i will need to bridge the pins internally and see where that gets me after ive pulled the codes. Thanks for you great help guys
  4. Could you please explain how i can check without a machine?
  5. Ok guys i have the ecu. Plugged in with a shave. Reset and eml comes on and no vtec or iab opening. Also rev limit at 7k does this mean i have to go down bridge root?
  6. Thanks for all your help guys! Another question... The bloke im buying the ecu from had a preface lift ek with a b18c4 lump in. He purchased the ecu from HOND R Tuning but used a wiring convertor as his wiring was too old for the ecu apparently. He states that vtec and iab's work correctly but ive read elsewhere that to get these working 'bridges' need to be put in place. If its a plug and play should i need to worry about this considering he had it working on his b18? Soz for the essay lol
  7. Thank you for the information! The ecu im buying is an obd1 p72 so should ve a doddle to fit! Sounds worth it and for a little over £100 it seems reasonable to!
  8. Ok im punching a little overy weight here so im hoping someone can help clear a few things up for me! My ECU is a P9K OBD2 with OBD1 connectors? (Mb6 vti) A P72 has a more aggressive map than the P9K? P72 is plug and play with the exception of shaving 2 ribs of to make it fit? Anyone actually done this and can tell me if its actually worth doing? Thanks in advance!!
  9. I was told i should wrap the mani. Whats the deal with that? I had my car on a power run today as i was interested to see where the power sat before i did any further modifications. It came out at 162.3bhp and 125ft.lb torque! Ive been told to check the valve adjustments as they may need doing and then they will run it again. Heres the print out A little bit disheartened by the bhp but she is a 14year old car so have to expect some horses to escape over the years i guess!
  10. Ok so now i have installed the new foglights looking good i think! Ive also just fitted my 4-1 manifold and decat pipe! Sounds awsome. It almost sounds like a subaru a lil bit! Can anyone recommend any decent air filters/induction kits? Thanks guys
  11. Ok so quick update. Smoked headlights purchased and on the car now. Ive replaced the old beaten up foglights with some smoked units and 6k led bulbs. Pictures to be taken tmo of these. How the front end looks now Ive also accidently ordered a 4-1 manifold and a adjustable tegiwa decat pipe =)! Anyone had any experience with these? As i couldnt fins a decat to match the measurement of mine so had to go adjustable! Comments welcome
  12. Hi guys not long joined but thought i would start a thread for my on going changes to my car ill start with a picture on how i bought the car Since then i had a full service carried out after a driveshaft snapped on me! Had that replaced and the other being done thursday, i bought my daylight HID's not to everyones taste but i love them! How the car stands now I invested in some speedline alloys which i think come on the earlier VTI-S? Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong! I personally think they transform the look of the car, i just need to lower it a little to close the gap between arch and wheel. Plans after christmas are: 4-1 manifold (love the sound they produce) Suspension kit (30mm drop i think) Spend some time trying to lighten the car without losing too much comfort as i have a daughter Tidying up engine bay Comments welcome and will update as it happens!
