Pressing the brake pedal feels fine the first half inch and then its like stepping on a stone.
The calipers have been serviced, disks are good and the pads are new-ish on 2000 miles.
The fluid has been changed and everything bled. When I stop from slower speeds there is not much of a problem but when I need to stop very quick or from a higher speed the pedal will reach the said rock hard point and then the wheels will lock causing the ABS to hit too early and the car would just proceed to drag on abs until it manages to stop. This has gotten me in more than 10 very close calls and I am wondering what the problem is. Is it the master cyl or is it the power assist from the engine or proportion valve or something.
Disk wear is perfect so I don't think its anything on the caliper/disk assembly. A friend of mine with a Hatch has the same issue.
