weetec
i noticed the front lower outer bush where the long bolt goes through for the shocker fork has allready distorted my new polybush. any 1 have any ideas why??? looking from the front the inner steel collar is to the left. looking from the rear its to the right. its as if the lower shock fork attached with the bolt through the bush is forcing it to be distorted. any ideas? im thinking of compressing the spring and rotating the lower part of the shocker/fork aswell as the rubber mount under the top strut cap to re-position it. then release the spring.... where the spring sits on the bottom is fixed, but where it sits/expands against the top rubber...the rubber can be turned to suite hence stops twisting the of the lower bush. any 1 had similar problems??? weetec
sussed it..when i compressed the lowering springs on the front while fitting the front shockers i didnt put the bolt through the lower fork first...... id taken the spring compressors off then forced the fork to line up the lower wishbone and placed the bolt through. this caused the shocker to twist and strained the inner collar on the bush. the remedy was install the shocker, compress the springs then install the lower bolt then remove the spring compressors. i have now replaced the bushes. cost me an extra £35...dam
Moe
if you use a polybush where the shocker bolts to the arm then the bush will distort. its better to use a rubber bush in that place
