syder
I have taking the engine out of my MC2 to be repaired as the beast was burning oil alot , has done 224900 ml , the engine has been taking apart and they found out that the bores are burd and need re boring , No 4 cylinder was the worst and they said that the thing was ready to go bang on me , No 3 was badly carbon ed , No 2/1 were slightly bured .They need to be over-bored to point 5 , they are unsure as to whether or not it safe to do this with the metal on the engine and uprate the pistons , they asked me if i knew but no i don't , so i ask you good people of civic5 to help me please .Is this going to last long if over-bored to this size with the new size pistons in ? bepilot
is this miles?aren't you better off to find another block in the breakers than rebuilding this mileaged one?...
syder
The rest of the engine is spot on its had a total strip down , then if the bores can be uprated then the rest will be done as well uprated cams/valves/full polish the lot , so why buy another engine for when this one can be better. civicturbo79
Us ebay is the place to look mate , if you are going 0.5 mm over size that will be fine , you will need 81.5 mm pistons . If you raise the compression you are going to need the car mapping once you are done with the engine build or it will not last 5 mins . I use cp pistons . Here is a link for you . http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CP-Pisto ... ccessoriesThis bloke is selling cp pistons and if you look down the listing there are all the part numbers for all the pistons you need :SC7011 81.50mm (+.020" Overbore) 9.0:1 (STANDARD REPLACEMENT)SC7111 81.50mm (+.020" Overbore) 11.0:1 ( HIGHER COMP)SC7116 81.50mm (+.020" Overbore) 12.5:1 (EVEN HIGHER COMP)Rich
