Has anybody had one of the above on thier cars and is it anygood , i have read mixed reviews but most say it is good .

This controller can make your v-tec kick in at 4500rmp instead of the normal 6000rpm or anywhere else you what it ,

so anygood or not for the engine , as in using it now and then with low v-tec kick in ? :?

It's the IAB's that you can feel at 5800!

wtf is the iab???

and why would one want to raise the vtec?

surely if one wanted to be mental one would lover it to like 4000 or 3000 ... would that not be the more fun wot wot :P

I took mine down to 3000k one, had no difference just meant the ECU light was on. Used more fuel and didnt feel a thing.

You want to change it when you have different cams or a turbo really.

Yup. Lowering it too far would mean not enough air and too much Fuel. so literally might as well drill a hole in your tank :D

The IAB is a butterfly in the intake manifold, the MB6 has dual runners, before 5800 it uses 1 set of the intake runners, then the butterflies open and double the air flow. Thats when you get the 'kick' so to speak.

Raising the VTEC, will give a fuller kick in mid range, and save money on fuel ;)

The MB is 'supposed' to be a more subtle power curve, so rather than the B16 engines having a MAJOR kick at 5800, it's more subtle and smooth

Ok cool, thanks for that... in reference to to why i'd want the vtec lower these are the mods  in installing ..

buddy club spec 3 cam shafts

"" racing cam pullys (i know just pretty)

excedy stage 1 clutch kit

Skunk 2 black series Intake manifold

BBK 70mm throttle body

CP pistons sc7116 81.50mm (+.020 overbore) 12.5:1 ratio compression

buddy club uprated valves both inlet and exhaust

so with these mods after the rebuild and run in period will i be better to lower my vtec?

thanks all

If you set you vtec to low you just run the engine out of power as such the higher you make vtec the more of a kick you will get and the better the engine will respond to it , you will need for the ecu to be mapped to your set up and the new higher vtec point ,

I to raised mine to 5500 on my mb6 turbo . Rich.
