Yeah piston rings for definate. I used 18 litres of oil in 6k miles before it was fixed.

Its a day job really, me and a mate started at 9am and finished at 9pm. I would expect to pay around £250-£300 for labour alone.

Gasket kit is £100 from part supplier (not oem Honda)

Piston rings are £55 delivered from a guy on the ITR forums who rebuilts vtecs and races them.

Then obviously you need new oil/oil filter

While the head is off you should get the Valve Stem Oil Seals replaced too. They should come with the gasket kit.

edit - oh and you may as well get a new timing belt on when building it all back up.

yea i used to be a vehicle tech so i should have a problem doing this, just wanted to know how much it's likely to cost, being a honda and all....
