hello, sorry guys for disturbing you, but i have a Honda civic mb1 with 1.6 16v sohc vtec (D16Y2 engine code) and want to make some modification to it. i was thinking about a new intake and the only one i have found was from Tegiwa, can anyone say other producers ? want to gain a bit power more form this engine, and don't know what to do

The quickest way to get power is to remove the resonator and reset the ecu- which is free :D

A carbon intake like Tegiwas is good because carbon is reasonably thermally inert. Alloy short arm intakes are not great on a D because of the heat transfer (exhaust wrap, CAI, heat shielding all cheap fixes of course).

If your not after looks most people go for Spoon/ K&N panel filter in the stock box or a ITR air box swap.

Go for a cold air intake. One of the best is the Iceman cold air intake because it's made of plastic which doesn't absorb heat like aluminium. Colder air is best for D series. But the price is big :? If you don't want to spend that much you'll be fine with any CAI they are more or less the same thing.

ITR airbox is another great way but to use it to the max you have to port the intake manifold and go for a bigger TB.

how can you reset the ecu ? :-s :D

nice cf intake knight you got the B18C4 engine, right ?

Yeah thats the one! ;)

ECU Reset

After getting the car warm I shut her down and took out the "ECU fuse 15A" and the "Back Up fuse 7.5A"

Left it 10min

Started the car and just left her idling, you're supposed to leave it till it settles down to a smooth idle, [i left it idling for 10min as the fan activates after a certain point and it gives a chance for the fuel trims to include this].

Shut the car down and started it back up straight away. [This is supposed to save the new fuel trim settings].

Sorted!
