Hi guys well it turns out that my ingnition is completly dead, all started when i felt some spark plug faluire so i disconnected the 4th cilinder spark plug cable and the engine just went off, it just wont start now, so i had the car towed to the workshop, and 3 days later the guy tells me that the distributor is dead thing that i already knew and that it needs to be changed (all of it) im like What, i have to change the entire thing? cant i change the electronical module or something? he says that its better to change all of it, well he started to look for a used one and there is none in spain literally, so on ebay i have seen one for 150 euros that according to the seller its new, but it comes from germany, my question is: is it a good quality? is it reliable?

i can get my old one repaired with some guys that are specialists, but it will cost me almost the same.

this is the distributor:

and the other question: will it fit on my D16Y2 vtec 126 hp?

its has the same model code and reference number

thanks guys

Yes it is actually so much easier to just swap the whole thing as you will end up replacing the cap and rotor anyway just in good practise. The whole distributor is three bolts and an electrical connector, takes five minutes to swap!

One in the link looks like it will do the job!

just so u know it fitted perfectly, it feels smother now the engine is quiter and the response is faster, thanks for the support, i was shocked by the thing of getting a new one because where i come from the cars just have to be fixed with anything we have (am cuban LOL) well i think that the 1st world is what it is jaja.

Had the oil changed and filters and now the engine temperature is even lower than before it has a japanparts filter with 10w-40 castrol gtx semi oil, thinking now of changing the gear box oil and the coolant fluid.
