Mcd16
Goodies!!! One managed to get a decat pipe, and behold, the "praise like" pic!...I paid a absolute tramp like 10 whole pounds!! Yeah budget bits. Love them lol. I shall attach this b****r tomorrow and update! Quick q and a as usual from me. How important is the second i2 sensor on these? I'd prefer it gone but if I need it. I guess I can keep it
Guest jimbob738
Does the 1.6 have post and pre cat Lambda's ? if so I wouldn't remove it without a remap as it will f*ck your fuelling right up! is that decat ok I.e length and rust wise give it a wire brush before you fit it and don't rev too hard and blow a whole it it the tramp you bought it off might have bodged it with chewing gum................only joking looks all good for £10. Mcd16
I'm sure there's 2. I know the lad I got it off to haha, it's not bad it's not rusty just where it's been hot. I can't moan for £10. I'm hoping it'll sort the pressure out in exhaust as back box was smaller so should be more free flowing.
Guest jimbob738
Decat does help to make it more free Reving your right, just give it a brush up, the cat is very restricing for good reason if your an eco warrior which im not and clearly neither are you (sorry Al gore!) if you have two Lambdas keep it that way as your Mixture clearly is adjusted and ECU relies on it, unless you plan on running a chipped ecu in which case you can leave the while circuit as open loop ( which will melt the ice cap's) #lovetheknocksgas............ Mcd16
Would it be worse running it in, or removing it? I plan to remap when all mods are done.
Guest jimbob738
It will constantly run Rich and probably waste a lot of fuel as a result, it relies on the two lambda readings to adjust the mixture going into the engine, they are pretty important elements in the equation, in other words, don't unplug it, it wont be of any benefit to you. I know I was expecting richness but woerdly, it's not actually changed :S i had an issue removing it where I pulled the pins from the carrier... Oops and because it's fixed in a position overtime it can only have two ways to go in... So far it's not running lumpy or rich? I done a run today to high Wycombe and thought I'd see what I got. Usually about 100miles to £20. My mate out £27 and I got 150miles @85+ the whole time there and back!? God I could of saved what was his money which was then mine in fuel at 70! Hey ho . It'll do untill a proper setup is in pale I guess, it sees a lot more free revving I have noticed a difference, I expected not to due to this silly sensor. Onwards and upwards! Lows hopefully next.
