  1. And the winner of Car of the Month August 09 is....... Dels VTI-S AKA BETSY!

A fitting tribute to a truely legendary car, winning 88% of the votes this month!! 8-) Del's VTI-S will feature on the site as car of the month throughout August!

R.I.P betsy, you will be sorely missed......

(the two people who voted against Del's VTI-S will be hunted out, admin are reviewing your accounts as we speak.... you know who you are...!!! Only kidding!!

  2. Ive had a look, it looks like the old EPC we used to have, we used to get it on CD-ROM every so often, with a new version sent to us when new models came out etc. Now its all Internet based, and updated more reguarly. You could buy it if you want, but not sure how current it would be, plus it wouldnt be able to check part availability, and current prices as well as other stuff the current one does. Plus, it shows it in Euro's in the pics, do they do a GBP version? Anyway, if you need parts info, you got yours truely to ask, why waste dosh on something that might not be that good??!!!!!!!!!:lol:

  3. The Honda EPC (electronic parts catalogue) says it is available to order, but Honda EUROPE has no stock. Basically, if you try to order them, it will give you an arrival date of the middle of next month, after telling you its on backorder. Then you get a message saying they are no longer available. (As far as I know, im not a parts man....!!) So, its the scrappy if you need the wiring loom and the rest of the kit im afraid!! Have you asked strictlyboost in the "For Sale" section yet? Send him a PM mate, he might be able to help you out!! ;)

  4. if the high level brake light doesnt work, then a tester has to assume it isnt connected, and not fail it for not working.

Now thats a good policy more test stations should take notice of

Like I say, I will check, but if im right, (which I am 99.9% sure I am) then ALL MOT stations should take notice, cos its the bloomin rules we have to abide by, by LAW!!!! So there............pmsl!!!

  5. Is MOT UK a forum, or is it an official website ran by VOSA? I will double check in the manual tomorrow, but when I have been on my MOT refresher courses, we have been told to give the customer the benefit of the doubt, which basically means, if the high level brake light doesnt work, then a tester has to assume it isnt connected, and not fail it for not working. As we are not allowed to take anything apart when doing a test, we cant check. So, if you disconnect it, we cant re-connect it to test it!!! To be honest, an MOT isnt worth the paper its written on, there are so many grey areas!! Its basically a test to make sure the vehicle meets a very low safety standard. You will probably hate me for saying this, but as a technician, i actually think the MOT test should be much stricter!! Anyway, i will get off my soap box now.................... Back to Daves Civic please!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Im a tester guys, and yeah, the third brakelight rule is complete rubbish!! The manual states that you need a working brake light on either side of the vehicle only, to pass your MOT, and it should work when the brake pedal is applied, that it goes off when you take your foot off, and when its working it should not affect the working of any other light, and its the right colour. If the third brakelight doesnt work, it SHOULDNT FAIL!! So, if anyone is having this problem, just disconnect it, or take the bulb out. In theory, you should get an advisory notice to say it doesnt work, but your tester shouldnt fail it for not working!! Sorted!! :ugeek:;)
